I am using the following code to change my backcolor before I print the page.Is there a way to restor the controls to the orginal backcolor they were before I changed them, the reason I ask is not all of them are the default systemcolors.control, so instead of coding each one individually i was hoping for some kind of "REstore" code?[code]....

I'm making a C++ code editor application using VB.NET. I'd like to change the color of the keywords as the user types it. Also I'm looking for a way to highlight some lines of the code.
Is there a way to change the forecolor and backcolour of a piece of text inside a textbox or a rich textbox?

Using VB/VS 2010 and am trying to provide the user with a way to change the color of the control buttons on my main windows form. I'm starting with the button click event that then calls another sub-form (code shown respectively below).
I was testing with DirectCast as I need to deal with a multitude of button controls (i.e., will have more than the two shown below).
I would like to know how to deal with the following:
1. How do I save the BackColor so when the user opens the form for the first time (or any other time thereafter) the color set earlier appears (the default via properties is green).
2. When I click on the button for the first time and change the color it doesn't change until I click the button again.

Is there a more efficient/easier way changing the backcolor of a control when it has focus and lost focus? Let's say I've got 10 text boxes. Right now I would have 20 different events...10 for Enter event and 10 for Leave event. Of course, entering would change the back color to "green" and leaving would change it back to "white".

I'm searching for a way to change the font size of selected text in a RichTextBox (rtf) having different font families (e.g. Arial and MS SansSerif) and font styles (underline, bold...) using the FontDialog, but without changing the families and styles. The following code resets all the font attributes, which is not what I want:

I have a winforms app with a series of textboxes and one rich textbox. Upon a button click I would like to set all the fields to being readonly. The only issue with this is that the background color of a readonly richtextbox is white as opposed to the grey used by the textboxes.
I have tried setting the backcolor property of the richtextbox to being Color.LightGrey but this is not the same grey used by the textboxes. I have also tried setting the back color to being the backcolor of one of the readonly textboxes but this does not work either. what is the best way to get a readonly rich text box that looks like a readonly text box?

I'm building an app that is a basic daytimer type of app. My problem is that I can't get the textbox(Textbox1) backcolor and text to change when I need it to. For instance, if there are events for January 12 and the user clicks on the Jan 12 link in the Calendar control, if there are any events in the SQL table for that day it should populate the appropriate times. The funny, or not so funny, thing is that I have another textbox named "TheEvent" that I can change the backcolor and text on with the code below and it works fine.[code]...

I have a problem with changing the color of a button (in vb.net). I have searched the web and plenty of people are willing to tell me HOW TO change the color but my problem is - it doesn't. I say it doesn't, it does when it has finished the rest of the code in the Sub. Can anyone furnish me with an explanation please as to why it doesn't happen when I ask? I'm using Visual Studio 2008

I am coding an application for seats reservation and it contains two forms one of the forms contain 32 labels that represent the seat number and when the user wants to reserve that seat, he/she can double click that label to bring up the other form . The other form contains 2 text boxes (Name,Phone) and Date time picker, and I have remove and save. The remove button should change the backcolor of the label that was double clicked in the first form to white. I have a Picturebox with a blue picture in it between the form and the groupbox, so it should be making the groupbox's backcolor appear blue.
what am I doing wrong here i'd like the circled red area transparent or the GroupBox's corners square

I'm making an alarm clock whose form's backColor should change randomlly every 5 seconds. I am not sure as to how to do this. I'm using a timer so after the alarm clock's given time matches the current time, a song will be played. But I do not know how to count the seconds, or milliseconds that pass after starting time.

I've been tingling with the colors of listviewitems.For the most part, they work great, but I can't set alpha:
Me.BackColor = Color.FromArgb(100, 40, 40, 40)
Me.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(1, 255, 255, 255)
Me.BackColor = Color.FromArgb(100, 40, 40, 40)
Me.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(100, 255, 255, 255)
The result of any of these two lines is exactly the same ( no change in alpha ). The colors take ok though.
