I have created a datagridview using vb.net . How to set the column backcolor? I try to do use the code as follow:
dtData.Columns(0).DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.Aqua
but, I got the following error when I run the application:
'DefaultCellStyle' is not a member of 'System.Data.DataColumn'. (BC30456)
In the screenshot, you can see where the BackColor is set for each item added to the ListView on the right. How can I fill the white space between the columns as well? I'm assuming the column width is the highlighted portion plus the white space. I thought setting the BackColor would fill this whole portion so that there essentially would be no white space at all showing anywhere in the listview (except maybe at the bottom). Is there a Property I need to set to do this? the listview has 1 column and it's autoresize property is set to CellContent.

I have a databound combo box column. When a value in another field starts with an 8, I want to make the combo box read-only and turn the background gray so the user knows it is read-only.

I would like to change the backcolor of the cell in a row based upon the value of a checkbox in another cell. The value of cell 2 would be a checkbox, so it is either true or false. If it is true, then color the backcolor of just cell 1?

The if statement above always evaluates to false. When I debug looking at the output, inheritedstyle.backcolor always returns the default empty color. I can't seem to figure this out! cell.style, cell.inheritedstyle, none of them seem to hold the correct backcolor.
I'm trying to make the BackColor of each row the same when a certain field is equal. When it reaches a row where this field is not equal to the previous one, it changes the BackColor property of the row.
Below is what I've come up with... but all the rows are remaining the same color. From what I can tell i'm changing the DefaultCellStyle.BackColor property and that applies to all cells, not just the current row in the loop. What property do I change to only affect the current row in the loop?

I am attempting to setup a DataGridView on a form so that the row under the mouse is highlighted. I've got that working with the following, except the currently selected row will not highlight on MouseEnter.
The forms contains 4 separate DataGridView and the only row that is highlighted should be the one under the mouse cursor.[code]...
I tried to specify Backcolor in XAML and run program result of Backcolor is not effected but DataGridView display me columns what I want. When I change DataGridView to DataGrid in VB part I got error massege: "AutoGenerateColumns is not a member of System.Windows.Forms.DataGrid". After AutoGenerateColumns line is commented I got result of Backcolor but of cause DataGrid display me all columns of a table. View 1 RepliesIt seems that on clicking datagridview column header, the column will be automatically sorted based on the column type. I have a column showing some numbers. If column type is string, it sorts "1","20","3" into "1","20","3". If column type is double, it sorts into "1","3","20" which is the result that I want. However, there might be some erros in the numbers and error messages(text) will show in the cell instead of numbers. So I cannot set the column type as double. I want to ignore these error messages and sort all the numbers. How can I do this?
Also, I need to add some background colors to different rows in datagridview. So in the column header click event, I call the bkgColor Sub to achieve this. My question is that how can I override the sorting method in this event?

Am using the Entity Framework and Columns Completed and Taken are of bit Datatype. When the query results are displayed in the datagridview, these bit columns are returned as of ColumnType Textbox - so i get a Datagridview textbox column with true or false string values.
I want to display Completed and Taken as Checkbox columns (either ticked for True or un-ticked for false) but ofcourse i can't do this in EditColumn dialogue because the Datagridview is unbound.

View 17 RepliesI have a DataGridView (dgv) on a Windows form (VB.NET) which is bound to a datatable. One of the bound columns is a an ID (Foreign Key) to another datatable. All I want to do is Hide the ID column and populate an unbound column with the Name (ParmName) for the user. I searched the foreign value in the datatable and retrieved the information. I set the Value of the cell in the Datarow. All works well, but does not display. The cell accepts the value...I can even Debug.Print the values to the console. They are there just nothing displaying in DataGridView. Nothing odd about DataGridView. Should be straight forward...
