When I use Count property to count checked items in ListView (set to detail view with check boxes), sometimes i get NullReferenceException on count part. Sometimes I get it but sometimes I don't get it... It's very randomly and I can not reproduce it always?

this its a very silly problem i have with CheckBoxList control, i dont know if its just me or what but the whole idea of the control its just great but the implementation its very confusing.
im trying to eval something like this
if CheckBoxList.Items.Item(CheckBoxList.Items.Count-1).Checked=true then.....
or something like
CheckBoxList.CheckedItems.Item(CheckBoxList.Items.Count-1) = Checked then...
the problem its that i dont know how does the checkboxlist works but it just sucks that they had to make it so confuising....

I have CheckedListBox and four item in it!Now I want to count number of checked item. For this I use:

But countnumber is always 0 even if I checked CheckedListBox items or not!

I am trying to get the number of items that are checked in my CheckedListbox. The Items.Count seens to only reference the entire collection so I am not sure how to narrow the count down to only the ones with checked boxes.

Basicaly I have the option for the user to print a series of reports directly to a printer that is not located in the same area as the application user. I want to show the user a progress bar how far into the process they are but I can't do it without getting the Maximum value of the Progress Bar (number of reports checked for printing).
I'm currently counting all the checked checkboxes in an asp.net gridview using:

Whereas I need to count all the checkboxes that are checked apart from the one in the header.
I have a list of cities in a list view (screencap attatched) what i am trying to do is find out which ones the user has checked, and also the sub item for each selection
for example is the user selects: London i can get the country values to which is UK.
This is probably easy as well. But I have this listview which contains exe files I've listed up. Now, I want to execute these exe files in turn from which items are checked or not. So, I've tried this:

Cause I noticed that the item in checkedItems doesn't contain much. And if I convert it to a string, it ends up in the msgbox looking like this: ListViewItem: {Filename.exe}
how do i check if a listview checkbox has been checked and prompt the user on what he/she checked.

I asked a similar question a while ago, but that involved different controls.I have 7 items in a ListView. If the user checks one of the items, I want a panel with three radio buttons to appear just for that item.I originally thought to make 7 panels, hide all of them, and then show and hide them when appropriate. I know this will work, but I really don't want to just overlap 7 panels and an overall 21 radio buttons.Is there a way I could use only three radio buttons with one panel? Or maybe create the controls during runtime?

Count is always = 0. This seems to work only if the item is double clicked. And then only one item is returned in the msgbox. MSDN says "The SelectedItems property will not contain any items if the property is accessed before the ListView handle is created, which typically occurs when ListView is initially loaded for display in the form. You can check to see if the handle is created with the IsHandleCreated property."
When I tried to check for the handle, an error said something about overloading. So I added this:

I have a project where I am using a listview to display a data received through XML. One of the columns called "STATUS" display only 2 text data, either "ON" or "OFF". I would like to know how to count how many times the word "ON" it is apearing in that column and same for the word "OFF". I am using this code to count how many lines I have in the listview Label1.Text = ListView1.Items.Count() but I couldn't figure out so far how to count of the words "ON" or "OFF" in the column "STATUS" wchich have the index 9.

View 3 RepliesI am currently using a recursive search to get all of the files in a directory as well as in all subdirectories of that directory. At the moment (as a temporary solution to make sure the script worked) I have all files with their respective directories listed in a listview (2 separate columns).
