Apr 13, 2011I have a problem in the validation of NumericUpDown control in VB.net. I want it to accept only the numbers, but it is accepting punctuations like '.' and apostrophe also, here my code what I did below, but still the problem persists, I used keypress:

Oct 20, 2009The form has 2 ComboBox and 1 NumericUpDown controls. I would like to change value of NumericUpDown based on selection in ComboBox. For example:
ComboBox1 has three value. for instance, AAA, BBB, CCC
ComboBox2 has three value. for instance, DDD, EEE, FFF
The NumericUpDown should has range 0-6 sum of both ComboBox. For instance, if user select from ComboBox1 AAA and from ComboBox2 EEE the NumericUpDown should display value 5.
How To Add Validation To ComboBox
Jun 15, 2012I have decided to add some validation to my combobox, what I'm trying to achieve is to make sure that the user can ONLY enter fields that are in the combobox but the problem I have now is that if the user clicks on the combobox and doesnt enter anything and tries to leave the combobox the message box appears.

As stated before the coding does work, but I was trying to make sure the message box does not appear if the user doesnt enter anything in the combobox.
TextBox Validation - 16 Numeric Digits Entered Into The Masked Textbox
Nov 18, 2009I am trying to mkae sure that there has been 16 numeric digits entered into the masked textbox. If not show errror message and if so to call the fucnction ValidateLuhn. When calling Validate Luhn i want the program to tell me if the number entered is valid or invalid using the code in the function:

ComboBox Force Validation -WinForms?
Dec 7, 2011Is it possible to force a combobox to run it's validation event without moving the focus out of the ComboBox?
I need the event (or an event) to trigger when an item is selected with the mouse or an entry is typed into the combo box. I tried using SelectedValueChanged and SelectedIndexChanged however, these events do not fire if the user types a value that does not exist in the list source. I know I can change the DropDownStyle to DropDownList however, I still want the users to be able to type entries in the combobox (with auto complete).

ComboBox Problem - Combo Box Won't Drop Down After Cancelling Validation?
Feb 24, 2012I've found some unexpected behaviour in my ComboBox, which I'm hoping someone can help me with. If focus is lost by pressing the Return key on a form which has AcceptButton set, then after handling the Validating event and cancelling the validation,the ComboBox will not drop down any more. When you click on the drop-down arrow, the list drops down momentarilly then goes away again To reproduce this, create a new VB.NET Windows Forms application. Drop a Combo Box and a Button onto the default form, then add the following code:[code]....

Apr 3, 2011I have a textbox which has some text on it and when the user will click on it,The problem is, as there is already a text on the textbox when the user will click will diappear to type his respective text, the program is saving the text written also. Jan 13, 2009OK, so i was going to verify a MaskedTextBox on whether the number input was or was not 10 digits in length. If not 10 digits, obviously they didn't put in a full phone number.
The problem is, even though you have no digits the length is still 10 so you can't check if the user put in 10 digits or not and return an error? Anyone got any ideas on testing for a phone number?I've seen tons of examples on date verification, but none on phone number verification.

Sql - VB ADO.NET Textbox Input Validation Against MSSQL DB
Jun 22, 2011I have one textbox basically the user is going to enter in a 9 digit number or letters. From there I want to have a buttonclick event that validates this against 2 columns in a MSSQL Database. First to check if the number exists, next to check if it is active or inactive.
There are about 27000 rows of numbers so my main question is what is the best approach to handling something like this.
Should I create a view and validate in the click event. Should I create a stored procedure in sql that takes an input parameter and call it in the click event.
I was also reading about storing the information in a dataset however with that many records i am assuming that is going to be a slow process.
