VS 2008 : TCP Sending Files?
Apr 14, 2009I've got a client/server communicating nicely using TCP to send text strings and to parse and act upon the messages at either end, but now I want to be able to send small files. I thought it would be as simple as reading the contents of the file into a buffer and sending that buffer as if it was a message but obviously not. When I retrieve the message at the client end I get "System.Byte[]" so its given me the variable type and not the actual contents of the array I thought I'd passed in!
My Sending code is this :

I dont want to embbed sqlserver ce with my setup and also on clients machine. Now i m not getting idea, how to add sqlserver ce dll files with my application to deploy on client side and also i don't hav any experience of deployment. I m using a third party code security tool to prevent my codes and which also provides licencing facilities. So, How could i manage all these stuffs for successfull application deployment?

Apr 26, 2011Im using VB2008... Net framework 3.0. Basically I have a barcode scanner that is sending the software data...Everything is working fine if I interface the scanner as a keyboard wedge and set the scanner suffix as 'Enter'...In the software I have an event handler on keypress.down...
If keycode.Enter then

etc.
However as a RS232 interface I cant get the same result? Hyper terminal reads it perfectly. I've tried all the keypress options but it doesnt work (I assume because it's not actually a key press). when the textbox recieves the CR/LF from RS232? The scanner that does keyboard wedge interfacing is not an option as it is far too expensive for my project.

Jan 16, 2009When you Use Socket.Send Ether in VB6 with the Winsock control or Vb.Net sockets / Windows API does it generate that if you send "Hello" that on the other side it will get the Full Message Before the Data Arrival event is triggered??Or is it possible it can get it in two Different events like "He" & "llo" and a Last question, TCP is stream oriented, is there a Protocol that is Message Oriented but is wrapped with TCP, if not what is a good Delimitor to use with TCP, Usually ide use &H1 OR &H0 but I assume &H0 is common.. or Should I just add a Length Param before each Packet I send..?Now if thats the case and I got the Delimitor route... What if Im sending Chunks of 8192 of a File in a while loop and on a different thread I send a Command if I use the Length Param isent there a huge chance that the messages will get sent like this

BUT the issue lies as it thinking that only the 3 of 4 of the incomming file Frames are getting Recv due to it not knowing which frames are for which. Mainly due to me sending a big burst and on the other side recving random chunk sizes on the other side.Edit: Got another question, If I send two bytes across the internet via TCP, will they ever arrive as two different I belive the term is Frame or is that only when they exceide the size of the MTU will the Message be Split. The reason why is if I send a Header saying SOH, Length Of Message(2Bytes), thats 3 bytes can I say 100% of the time the computer on the otherend will recv that all at once so I can parse it? And What ever happen to Flush for Winsock?
Can Not Open Zip Files On 2008 Express
Oct 3, 2009I am having trouble opening these files on VB 2008. I basically need to open them so I can have a better idea of how to program i.e. look at the source code. I ended up looking at the code via note pad but I had to create the forms, buttons, etc. I then copied the code and I am getting errors all over the place, specifically "statement is not valid in a namespace.

For example, I have sent the sms message "Helooo" but the receiver only receive the letter "H" only. Hope that anyone can help. Here is the code that I am using to sent sms.
