ComoboBox DropDown Select One Item And Display Another

I am not sure how I could achieve this: allow the user to select a value (string) from the dropdown list of a ComboBox and display another value in the editable text. The user can modify this displayed value as well. In VB6 I had a combobox where the list property contained a two dimensional array. When the user selected a value from the dropdown list, the displayed value was set using the second dimension of the array. Something like this:
I am using a combobox in VB .net to show customer's name. They also can type new names if they wish. Can I somehow save these new names in my sql database dynamically?
What I mean is if the name is new and does not exist in my database, can it be automatically saved to the database?
Im trying to autofill a html form and all textboxes and textarea is working ok.. I now have a problem with a combobox1.I added the items below to the combobox1. So whenever i choose one of those items it needs to choose the same value on the website dropdownbox.[code]

net/watin application and I am trying to select and item from a combobox on a client's website. I can use watin to drop the list down and select (highlite) an item from the list but the selected item will not populate the textbox above. It seems like watin's .select() is not triggering an event to fire.I can work around this by writing in the first letter of the item in the combobox and use the hypertext feature to select the item but this is not ideal.

I need to display a listbox, but i want to select only one item using radiobuttons. I was looking for info about checkedlistbox, and found some routines that deleselect one item if i check another, but i think is wrong the use of checkboxes (designed to multiple selections) to select one value. Radiobuttons are more suitable for this task, but i dont know how to put the radiobuttons inside a listbox (items are variable, i retrieve that list of items from a database, and populate in run-time).
How could I link a Listbox to a Textbox? So each Listbox item holds string data, and when I click that Listbox item, it shows it's string data into the multiline Textbox. For example
I have a listbox item names "Numbers". It holds this data:

So I want it to when I select this item in the listbox, it display the number data into the multi line textbox.
When i press the 'edit' button a listview is shown, filled with records('empcode' field from empdetail) from a access table, say 'empdetail'. now if i doubleclick on a particuler record in the listview, then the listview will disappear and the records will be displayed in the textboxes. exactly what we do in vb6, the coding follows,cn is the connection to the db.

I have a form like that: What I need to do is when the user selects item1 from combobox a message will be displayed in listbox. My combobox has 11 items so I must have 11 appropiate messages to be stored automatically in listbox . (The message is appropriate of what item is selected from the combobox)

I am trying to select a dropdown and populate about 10 textboxes with information. The information is in a database. I know one option would be to write a stored procedure and pass the value of the dropdown box to the sp and then use SqlDataReader to readthe values to populate the textboxes. My program that I'm creating is a quiz creation tool, based for teachers to create quizzes and then use them to aid with quizzing their students.I've got the whole program working in that you can create quiz, play the quiz and then see how many questions were answers correctly and how many questions their were The problem I'm having is that I don't know how I can save multiple quizzes, for example you can create one quiz, that then saves as a .txt in debug however, when you then create another quiz and click the save file the old quiz details are sitting in the .txt

So what I'd like it to do is, when saved create another text file? Or another set of data questions, I have been looking through my Computing projects in Visual Basic . NET book as well as through online but I can't find anything that I understand as such.
I currently have a few comboboxes in my project that on the 'Dropdown' event, I have them show items from a database that I have bound to the Combobox, I have tried this on several other events too with the same result.The problem i'm having is when the user clicks the dropdown but doesn't select anything, it automatically defaults the first item in the combobox although nothing was ever really selected so what I want is the combobox to remain blank UNTIL they click on an item in the dropdown, is there a way to avoid this? Is there some code I can place in the combobox's selected indexchange to prevent the first item in the list from appearing unless it was actually physically clicked?
We have an application with an mdicontainer form which has a menustrip with many toolstripmenuitems. Each of these toolstripmenuitems has dropdown items. We want to be able to set the Visible properties of these dropdown items to true and false in various situations. We are able to do this e.g, mnuFileOpen.visible = True and it does make the menu item visible.

It selects the combo box but not selecting the desired "this is my default value (TEST) - First" from the list. Basically what it is doing is selecting any value that starts with t . e.g first value is "TMP". So instead of exactly matching it is selecting any first character match.how to force it to select the exact string from list.Also tried using the following code but nothing seems to work
