I am compiling a program from my own program using VBCodeProvider and everything was working well but somewhere along the lines I changed a reference option or something and now everytime I try to build my child program I get the error
Error: BC2006 'option 'res' requires ':<resinfo>';
I have a Linq-to-SQL class diagram in my web application containing the two tables in my database (held in a DBPro database project in the same solution). All was working fine yesterday. I start doing some work tonight and note that the solution compiles fine in Visual Studio, but when I run the web app I get a compilation error:
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately. Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'FrostAlertDatabaseDataContext' is not defined.
I have a section that compiles basic boolean expressions at runtime, such as:CustomerBirthDate > "1/1/1940"At runtime it works perfectly. The generated code file contains "Option Explicit Off" at the top and when I call compiler services, I pass the option /optionexplicit-
I have a project and I have a word document added to the Resource list. Since I need this document when the project is deployed, I have set the Compile option to Embedded Resource. However, what I would like to do is, on some event, I would like to update the Word document.Is it possible ?
Visual Studio 2005 - The MSDN has a sample command line compile:
Assemblies compiled with /platform:x86 will execute on the 32-bit CLR running under WOW64.I have to created a bat file to do a compile because I have to add /win32Resource since the IDE is useless when it comes to using /win32Resource.But I cannot get a command line compile to work when I add /platform:x86 like this:vbc /platform:x86 /debug /win32resource:ResTempl1.res *.vbI get the following error:Command line warning BC2007 : unrecognized option 'platform:x86' ; ignoredI finally copied the text from the MSDN, added quotations, moved it around - still it fails.
I have inherited a VB.NET application that I need to compile so I can run dorkumentation on it. I first received "Option Strict On disallows implicit conversion from x to y" errors, so I turned off the Option Strict option in the Project file.
So why do I still fail with the same error message?
Lets assume that I code a DLL in .Net and I've added some items to the project (For example a picture, or an XML file that contains some kind of configuration for the DLL), and I set the "Copy to output directory" to be "Copy Always".
Now, what I wanted is that if I give my compiled DLL with the bunch of files that were added as items to it, then if someone ads a reference to the DLL in his project then on compile it will copy all files and not just the DLL.
Is it even possible (Some kind of configuration on Visual Studio maybe)?
I need to add an option of Changing Password in a simple one file and one form based Win Form Application. Any advice/guidance in this regard other than using a single CONST PW in the code being unable to be changed later on?
I am receiving this error: Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference on the code I've bolded within the code body. Here is my code:
I get this error:Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference.When i compile on the following code section:
Private Sub statusBarToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) ToolStripMenuItem.Checked = Not ToolStripMenuItem.Checked statusStrip1.Visible = ToolStripMenuItem.Checked
I am opening frmB (variable for FormB - the actual form) from frmA. From btn1 I open frmB like this:
frmB = New FormB() frmB.Show()
From btn2 (frmB is already open) I bring frmB to the front from behind frmA:
FormB.Show() FormB.BringToFront().
No problem so far. Now I need to pass an arg to frmB. This is where I am having the problem.
from btn1 (in frmA) I do this:
frmB = New FormB(myArg) '--pass myArg to constructor of FormB -- no problem here frmB.Show()
then from btn2 -- this is where I have the problem
FormB.Show() FormB.BringToFront()
I tried placing myArg in FormB.Show(myArg) but that did not fix the problem. What is the correct way to pass myArg to FormB (frmB) in this scenario? Do I need to share FormB or frmB? How do I do this? "frmB" is frmA level variable.
why i am getting an "reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference" error on format.Yesterday gets the previous days date and presents it in a yyyyMMdd format.vsettlementDates takes the "Yesterday value and requests data from it.
Dim Yesterday As String = format(Today.AddDays(-1), "yyyyMMdd") Dim vSettlementDates As String = (Yesterday)
Error 1 Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference. (on WindowsIdentity.Groups)
Here's my code from that uses the WindowsIdentity.Groups property to display the identity references for the groups the current user belongs to. This code is part of a larger example provided for the WindowsIdentity class.
Public ReadOnly Property Groups As IdentityReferenceCollection Get Dim irc As IdentityReferenceCollection
I have the following code below, how the line where it says : For Each c As councillor In councillorList i get the error: reference to a non shared member requires an object reference. Can someone please advise where i am going wrong? [Code]
Alright, so im getting this error:Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference.This is the bit of code the error is pointing to:My.Settings.Bookmarks.Add(WebBrowser.Url.ToString)Why is it giving me this error?Its saying WebBrowser.Url is the problem.
Im trying to create a login page which accesses a mysql database I keep getting this error: reference to a non shared member requires an object reference
So I wanted everyone's opinion on this and what you think of this. Using the WithEvents modifier makes life very easy in VB.Net (srsly, I love it), and I was exploring some of its limitations and noticed you can do something along the lines of this:
I'm trying to change the reference of a variable passed from one form to another in the constructor of the recieveing form but after I've changed it the original reference still remains in the source form. Why is this and can I force it to accept the new reference?
I get the following error message when I try to compile anything, I've tried creating several different projects and they all do the same thing. does anyone know anything about this and how to fix it?
Error2An error occurred while signing: Failed to sign bin\Release\app.publish\\setup.exe. SignTool Error: Signtool requires CAPICOM version 2.1.0.1 or higher. Please copy the latest version of CAPICOM.dll into the directory that contains
I know strings are immutable, so the minute you change a string reference's value .NET makes a brand new string on the heap. But what if you don't change the value of a string reference; rather, you simply pass it into a function ByVal -- does this operation copy the string value on the heap as well? My inclination is "no," but I'd like to confirm.
For example: Public Function IsStringHello(ByVal test As String) As Boolean Return (String.Compare(test, "Hello") = 0) End Function
Calling program: Dim myWord as String = "Blah" Dim matchesHello as Boolean = IsStringHello(myWord)
I know passing myWord by value makes a copy of the reference to "Blah", but since I have not tried to change the string itself, would it make another copy of the string on the heap?
I had weird compile errors. When I opened a project of mine today, suddenly I received over 100 errors. It gives even error for try catch, foreach and all those functions under system and Microsoft.VisualBasic namespace. I have also class libraries and although references are looking added, main project doesnt recognize references as well. I tried clean solution, rebuilt solution, cleared my aspnet tmp folder, re-added references but no help. what could be the problem? anyone experienced such problem. my VS2010 isnt spoiled because any other project works fine,even with same class libraries.
I'm trying to do a multiline If,then, else statement and I keep getting the Compile Error code "Block if without End if" This is part of my code (the rest is the same just repeated)
If ActiveCell.Value = 1 Then ws2.Select Range("A3").Select ActiveSheet.Paste
We have a compilation with GC.KeepAlive (Object) method.When we try to complile, there is an error GC variable not defined.We try to reference mscorlib.dll manually in the project but it doesn't work.
