I have working on a project to add details to a database. I'm having trouble with the connection string, the code is as follows:
Code: Public Function AddContactToDatabase(ByVal sFirstName As String, ByVal sLastName As String, ByVal sAddress1 As String, ByVal sAddress2 As String, ByVal sAddress3 As String, ByVal sAddress4 As String, ByVal dDOB As Date, ByVal sPhone As String)
I have a form for the Clients, and the user goes through and adds in all their details. But sometimes two Clients are linked together in a marriage or whatnot. I have one Clients table, and if I make two details views of it, all that happens is both views display the same Client, when they should be different. Currently, I'm adding in the second client via another form, and using textchanged events to display the data on the original form. How would I put both clients on the same form without the first clients information repeating itself? I would like to avoid using binding sources if possible. Also, I have a second question, how do I refresh the information in the details view without using binding sources? I've used queries for add/edit/delete, and I've attempted to create one to refresh, but it's not working well at all.
I need to be able to get the details of a m4a file (Title, artist, album) via a script so I can rename and move the files into a folder. Im having some trouble to construct a Master-Details form. When I navigate through each record on the master nothing happens on the details. This is so even if there exit a relation between the two tables in the database and in the dataset between the data table. Can anyone provide me with some samples or examples of coding how to proceed?
Furthermore I have tried to programmatically create the relation but the following error occurs: child list for field cannot be created etc
so I have a template in Crystal reports using vb.net, I changed my data source location and that source still contains the needed tables for my report, the problem is this... My original template displays the exact report but when I changed its data source it duplicates the data in the details section(e.g I made a query that will show 1 item only, but instead I get 4).

I want to alter the template rather than to make another one
I am a beginner, working on MS Visual studio 2005. I have made a form which accepts details from a user (name , age, etc.).....what I am trying to achieve is the following:
When the user enters all the details and presses OK button, a new form or a messagebox must open, displaying all the details just entered by the user.
I'm trying to export the details in my datalist into a PDF file by using this third part program called Itextsharp. However, I'm encountering problems in generating the PDF as it keeps giving me the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error which points to my "htmlparser.Parse(sr)"
I been trying for 2 hours now to fix this problem however no progress. Does anyone here have experience in Itextsharp? Could you shed some light onto this problem?
