If i make the test from local network it works but if i take the test using mysql servers (same version) from different city it shows me the error "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding".[code]

Oct 28, 2004I am writing an application to grab attachments from messages in a particular folder in an Exchange server account and then process them. The processing of the attachments should be no problem, but what I don't know how to do is to connect to the Exchange server and access the messages.
What I would like to know is what references and imports I need, and how to access the various objects in the object model. I have been looking at CDO already, but I have had problems finding help on the Internet that is relevant to VB.NET.
For example, I'd like to know how to create the Exchange object, log in and navigate to the folder that has the relevant messages in it.

I'm trying to set up a script that I can run to delete a single file, multiple files, a folder or multiple folders on a list of servers.I was thinking that the script could read the files to be deleted from a .txt file and apply the deletion to a list of servers in another .txt file.Example:

VS 2005 - Create A "post Office" Program That Will Send Html Emails Thru The System.net.mail Framework
Oct 19, 2009I am a one man dev shop and need some outside opinions on how to approach this project.
I need to create a "post office" program that will send html emails thru the system.net.mail framework.
For each job submitted to the postoffice the app would need to read a user created html email string from the database, read a string of email addresses to send to and send out the emails based on a set processing time.
The first step would be to parse out the email addresses to find out how many emails it needs to send out and determine how many it would need to send per minute to complete the job in 20 minutes tops. I.e. if 1000 email addresses are submitted per job it would determine that it needs to send 50 emails per minute to complete the job.
The part I am stuck on is how I should queue the emails. If the app determines it needs to send 50 a minute should I only load up the first 50 on a timer event then get the next 50 queued up for the next timer tick? Or would it be better to load up all 1000 in a loop and build in some kind of wait time after it sends the first 50?

May 25, 2010I am trying to learn a little more about reading and writing Outlook mail messages. So I've written a small app to read my mail messages and pull certain lines from the body. When I run the app I get to a certain point and start getting error messages telling me I have a limit on the number of messages I can have open. With that I figured something is not closing properly. All of the examples I've checked out (I've been at this most of the morning) I've not seen one thing where the code is closing the message after it's been read. I've included the code and as you can tell there's not much to it.

It opens up a new email message so the user can add to the email message, and then the user clicks send.The code works fine. However there is one small problem. The email that the code opens, is always in Microsoft Outlook. Sometimes the application's user has Outlook Express set up as the default client, but my application always opens the new email message in Microsoft Outlook. (Outlook 2003. In the one user's machine that has Outlook 2007, everything works fine and the email opens up in Outlook Express.)As I searched for a solution, I saw this problem posed many times in various places on the Internet, with no solution (or none that worked). I did try several suggestions which involved creating registry settings and registering some dlls.

From what I can tell, this should be configuring some kind of sending option. I can kind of work out what's going on, but I don't know how I should go about re-implementing it.It's looking like the place to be putting this stuff is now in the System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Credentials class, but the information in there doesn't seem to bear any resemblance to what I have here.I'm almost certain I'm making some obvious error, here, but I can't see it. Get All Possible Servers On A LAN Network?

It's quite out dated but I just need it for a quick project. I need the client to auto-connect. This program will be running on the LAN only, is there a way to find on what computer the server is running on (i.e. all computers hosting the specific server on port x). I've seen it on a couple of games that run on LAN. Without access to the internet, they manage to display all available games on the local LAN. I'm doing this with VB.net.

May 22, 2012I am using the following code to get the Disk I/O on various servers. For now I am just retrieving the DiskReadsPerSec to get a feel for it. The return data gives a uint32 for each drive on the server and a total. My questions is what is the time frame that this represents? Is this at the second that my code polls the drive or is this over the last few seconds or do I need to do multiple runs to get an average.
My intention is to build a graph for each drive so I wonder how often I need to poll the drive to get a acurate value.

Oct 12, 2007I designed an app that basically gets paths to servers I have admin rights to, I am doing such things such as checking available space on the servers etc., the problem I am having is my app only works if I manually login via something like (start, run, \server) and supply my admin username and password just to store that authentication.How do I code this so it prompts the user in my program ONE time for all 5 servers (they all use the same username and password)
