Im busy making a program but it needs to send an image over a connection. Anyways, it is only possible to sends pieces of strings at the moment. And therefore I want to convert the images I want to send into strings or whatever that can be written in a textbox.Ive been trying stuff with streamreader / write but that didnt work so far.
The coding below is to retrieve the Raw Image Data from the Database and then write as a JPG image file. The problem is the image file (image.jpg) is "nothing" after file created. I guess there is something wrong in the following coding.
fs.Write(rawData, 0, fileSize)
No any runtime errors I can find, and I double check rawData (i.e. Buffer) contains data. But don't know why there is "nothing" inside the image (image.jpg).
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Dim fileSize As Integer Dim rawData() As Byte
converting an image file into binary text in VB 2010.I am working on a compression program and need to see the actual binary as text. I have code for converting text files to binary and it works fine but, need to attempt files with greater randomness that are typically uncompressable.(JPG's) I understand that the file conversions may be huge. I plan on manipulating the binary in smaller manageable chunks.
My project theme is "JPG image will contains text", i need to pick text only from JPG image. Is there any possibility to do this application using VB.Net.
I am working on a project that convert images to text , and load them from text , so i can save them online then load them as image . But if u could just give me a code of a project with a textbox where i write the text instead of downloading it it will
I need to convert any file (word, excel, pdf...) to an image (jpg/tiff..).Because I intend to preview the content of the first page of the file/document in a small frame (small window).
I'm studying for a memorization-intensive exam, and have lots and lots of lists to memorize. I have a Sony Walkman that can show *.JPG files and I had an idea. I want to create some video flashcards so I can study anywhere/any time. The idea is simple: I have some text that I want to convert to an image file. No, this isn't homework for a class. My experience to date has been 100% Excel/Access/Word related, so I'm completely out of my realm when it comes to images.

Is there anyway to convert an image file bytes array into an array of the real RGB values of that image?
I don't really want to use GDI+ or the System.Drawing library, but simply apply a certain calculation/processing to every byte of the image file and get another array that contains the RGB values of every pixel in that image. I know it could be done as I know how to do it in a different programming language (Python) but not in Visual Basic.

I am trying to convert some old VB code (EXAMPLE 1) to VB.Net that opens up a text file and loads a text box line by line. I am really looking to replace the existing syntax. Note that I know I can import the whole file using EXAMPLE 2.[code]...
I have an offline event log that i would like to convert to a text or CSV format (not too sure what limitations there are between the two if any).
As far as i understand the evt file is in a binary format so it needs to be converted from this format into text (in hope to transfer the contents to a database).
how i could get started and if any approach (text or CSV) is better than the other?
I'm not exactly sure if this is the correct question to be asked but I will tell you what I am attempting. I have an ASCII txt file with data in it. It does not have headers. I am looking for a way to convert this data into an XML file.[code]...
I have data in xml format-(in a stream or in an xml file-whichever will work better.) I need to convert this data into a text file with specific fields.
I have got a problem.. In our department, we use a lot of reports from a oracle server. I can't access the server database. Only various reports are available which is used for various communcaitons. If the report is converted into a dbf format, a lot of time can be saved. The report is available alpahabetwise with the total number for each alphabet is shown at the end of each alphabet section and the total number for each section (based on a seccode Each page of the report starts wtih the username, section name, page number date of printing as header. then each record is printed.Roughly the page looks like this:
I am brand new to the world of XML. I need to recreate a text file that used to be created by an outside app. Now we will be given a XML file that contains alot of data including the data I need to put into the text file. So I probably won't need all the fields given in the XML. Can I use Visual Basic to convert XML data to a text file?
I previously asked a question about my meeting planner app, and how to delete a specific entry in the array. Someone had the interesting suggestion of using a ArrayList, instead of a normal array. I am attempting to learn ArrayList, but to no good result. I can't even get the ToString method to work correctly to write what I want it to into a text file.[code]...
My plan is to have each of those three fields to have their own entry in the ArrayList, but when it is saved to text file, those three fields are comma delimited to a line for each appointment. Of course when the text is loaded, it will have to be converted back. Can anyone point me in the right direction or have any other method of going about this with the ArrayList?
I'm working on a practice exercise to convert a XML file to a text file. Here's the code;
Function XML2Text(xmlNode As Variant, Optional recordQuery As String = "*", _ Optional propertyQuery As String = "*", Optional filename As String = "", _ Optional Delimiter As String = ",") As String Dim buffer As String Dim recNodeList As IXMLDOMNodeList
I am trying to insert data from a text file into an Access table. However, when I try to execute the command, I keep getting the following exception:A first chance exception of type 'System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException' occurred in System.Data.dll.And my Catch block throws me the "Unable to read file" error that I placed.[code]
