I have code for converting text files to binary and it works fine but, need to attempt files with greater randomness that are typically uncompressable.(JPG's) I understand that the file conversions may be huge. I plan on manipulating the binary in smaller manageable chunks.

Mar 6, 2009i've created a new access 2007 database + added a OLE Object field, that i've then pasted images into.
in vb2008 i've connected to the database + put the table into a datatable. so far it works ok.
when i try to convert the byte array to an image, it causes an error:
'A first chance exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in System.Drawing.dll'
heres the code i'm using:

its loading the byte array properly, but the Image.FromStream line causes the error. i've used this method before with an earlier access database + it works.

Apr 28, 2010The coding below is to retrieve the Raw Image Data from the Database and then write as a JPG image file. The problem is the image file (image.jpg) is "nothing" after file created. I guess there is something wrong in the following coding.

No any runtime errors I can find, and I double check rawData (i.e. Buffer) contains data. But don't know why there is "nothing" inside the image (image.jpg).

As the image can vary from dark to light no one text colour can assure that the text will be readable.
Is there an easy way to invert the text colour pixel by pixel based on the colour of the image pixel the text will be drawn onto.

What I'm trying to do is parse out the image URL, download the image and put the smiley in the correct spot between the text of the message.I can do the parsing and downloading of the image into the datagridview but this only works of the column is set as an image column. Obviously due to the nature of the program I need to be able to put both text and images into the same cell. How can I do this?
