.net - Convert Raw-Image-Data Into Image File (*.jpg)?

Apr 28, 2010

The coding below is to retrieve the Raw Image Data from the Database and then write as a JPG image file. The problem is the image file (image.jpg) is "nothing" after file created. I guess there is something wrong in the following coding.

fs.Write(rawData, 0, fileSize)

No any runtime errors I can find, and I double check rawData (i.e. Buffer) contains data. But don't know why there is "nothing" inside the image (image.jpg).

Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click
Dim fileSize As Integer
Dim rawData() As Byte

Convert To An Image File?

May 22, 2009

I'm studying for a memorization-intensive exam, and have lots and lots of lists to memorize. I have a Sony Walkman that can show *.JPG files and I had an idea. I want to create some video flashcards so I can study anywhere/any time. The idea is simple: I have some text that I want to convert to an image file. No, this isn't homework for a class. My experience to date has been 100% Excel/Access/Word related, so I'm completely out of my realm when it comes to images.

Save Video Data Into Image And Convert Into Bitmap Format

May 25, 2009

I have the following code found on internet:
Const WM_CAP_START = &H400S
Const WM_CAP_EDIT_COPY = WM_CAP_START + 30

'The first step is to recognize that the video captured by the web cam can be saved as individual images. By displaying a series of continuous images on the client, it is similar to watching a video stream. To capture an image, I have defined the following subroutine:

'---save the video data into the Image global variable---
Public Sub CaptureImage()
Dim data As IDataObject
Dim bmap As Image
Dim ms As New IO.MemoryStream()
'---copy the image to the clipboard---
[Code] .....

The problem is the code fail to retrieve the image from clipboard? What I'm trying to do is connect to a webcam, then save the video stream file on this webcam as bitmap file before transfer to the client side as an array of bytes.

Convert Image File Bytes Into RGB Values?

Oct 16, 2011

Is there anyway to convert an image file bytes array into an array of the real RGB values of that image?

I don't really want to use GDI+ or the System.Drawing library, but simply apply a certain calculation/processing to every byte of the image file and get another array that contains the RGB values of every pixel in that image. I know it could be done as I know how to do it in a different programming language (Python) but not in Visual Basic.

VS 2008 - VB BITBLT Equivlant - Build Image By Opening Files With Image Data

Nov 2, 2010

In VB6 you could BITBLT things around before refreshing the screen. In .NET, I'm aware of DrawImage, but that can only be done on a paint event rather than before anything gets painted. The issue I have is, I need to open several files with image data in them and then build a bigger image with those smaller images. Before I could open them, BITBLT them to a Buffer. As far as I can tell .NET offers no way to do this as the only function I've been able to find (DrawImage) only works within the paint event. Is there still a way to do this in VS08 or no?

Way To Capture Screen Image And Then Read Data (OCR?) From Image

Feb 13, 2010

I play a game and in the game you acquire skills which you can display on the screen in a box very similar to a data grid. The grid has 3 columns and X number of rows.Column 1 is the name of the skill, column 2 has a descriptive term like "Beginner" and column has the number of points you have acquired in that skill. So it would look something like this:[code]Remember that it is in a data grid so it has cells like an Excel spreed sheet.The program that I use is able to parse the skill name and the points and save that information outside the game to a n area in the program.My question is, is this possible to do something similar in VB? That is something like, Press a hot key, with will get a screen shot, parse the data and save to a data grid in my VB program.

Convert "e.data.GetData(dataformats.Dib)" To An Image?

Sep 26, 2005

I am designing an application that uses drag/drop. I am able to drop image file into my app (as e.data.getdata(dataformats.filedrop)) but when it comes to draging/droping from a imaging app (i.e. Corel Designer) I can't figure out how to convert e.data.getData(DataFormats.Dib) to an image.

e.data.GetData(DataFormats.Dib) being a "System.IO.MemoryStream" It shouild be easy to do so: dim img as image = image.fromstream(e.data.getdata(dataformats.dib)) but I get a Invaklid parameter used error... ANYONE CAN HELP ME? I tried it all, yahoo, google, msdn, forums, newsgroup, and I just can't find it anywhere!
