Basically I have created a timer and all works well on that part. My issue lies in that my timer loads a .png for each minute/second and I was linking the images like so[code]...
Is it possible to set an IMAGE or BackgroundImage for a button from an online resource such as a [url].... file in any way at all . I would like to do something like this in a WINDOWS FORMs based application.>>

How do I set button1.image to the image resource named in a string?

I have made picture viewer in VB which also shows all the pics present in a folder as thumbnails using image list and listbox. The problem is whenever the user clicks refresh it takes long time for the image to load. I want to some how make a cache like thing where i can store the image for faster access in the future.

Right now I can get the desired output but its slow for bigger images than 640*480 since it will actually be operating on video frames at least @25FPS.What I'm doing right now is copy both images pixel by pixel, like this. I'm writing a game in VB 2005 Express and at the moment it involves using the drawimage method to first draw a background and then various sprites onto my form every time a timer ticks. It's all double buffered so there's no flicker or anything but it just goes very slowly, how to speed it up. I've come across the term blitting (bitblt), which seems like it would be useful, but haven't been able to work out exactly what it is, whether it can be used in this version of vb, how to use it etc.

If I create an array of bitmaps, something like Dim PictureArray(10) as New Bitmap..How do I then load my pictures into the array? If I try Picture Array(1) = "("c:image.bmp") I get an error.Also, can someone remind me of how I load in an image/file from the location of my program? Do I just use ("image.bmp") or do I need to specify curdir or something?

edit: I realized what the problem ... It can read only cur files with 24-bit color and lower - but it shows only two colors: black and white.
I have an app that loads a jpg into a picyure box, then updates exif data in exifworks classThe problem is that when I save the image(from image used for picture box) or class (to save exif data) then try to delete, sometimes I get success, others it won't allow delet I have gone to the trouble of using gc.collect, do events, put the delete in a timer & wait for the delete before continuing & still get the problem

Now, how can I get images in this MemoryStream-way from a DLL resource?
The basic problem: If I use simply the "bitmap.UriSource = whatever uri" way and load many images in sequence like an animation it builds up the memory. I tried with the above memorystream way and it worked perfectly fine, but then I store my images in a dll and I don't know how to do this trick. If anybody knows how to read many images from a managed dll without building up the memory

I cannot seem to get my image resources to load into PictureBox1.I can see all the images I added as resources in the solution explorer.They are a series of PNG files with names associated with countries.I am at the beginning stages of randomly changing the image that is displayed in PictureBox1, but I cannot even get the first image to load.Here is my code so far. When I click on Button2 I can see that my array returns a random country, but no image loads.I even tried typing in several of the countries names as well as the country name followed by png (e.g. chine.png) and again no image loads.

View 1 RepliesI have completed my vb project and have created the set up files as well.. Now when I try to install my program on another machine then it gives me an error. I found out the problem and it seems to be two of the images are not loading even though i have saved them in my application folder.. But when i save them in the resource folder the program runs but does not displays the images stored in the resource folder.
