Get Transformation Matrix Of An Image In A Picturebox In A Panel?
Dec 29, 2011I have a picturebox inside a panel with scroll bars.
I can zoom in or out the image in the picturebox by changing the PictureBox.Size, and the scrollbars update automatically.
How do I convert coordinates in pixel returned by the PictureBox.MouseMove event into image coordinates when the scrollbars value is not zero and the PictureBox.Size is not the original?

Game Programming :: Faster Image Drawing On Form?
Aug 12, 2011I'm writing a game in VB 2005 Express and at the moment it involves using the drawimage method to first draw a background and then various sprites onto my form every time a timer ticks. It's all double buffered so there's no flicker or anything but it just goes very slowly, how to speed it up. I've come across the term blitting (bitblt), which seems like it would be useful, but haven't been able to work out exactly what it is, whether it can be used in this version of vb, how to use it etc.
Here's my code (or at least an approximation of the relevant bits seeing as the whole thing is rather long):

Nov 26, 2010Im using RichTextBox from Visual Studio 2008 to show various RTF content and it is slow. I mean really slow. Is there any way to improve the loading speeds of LoadFile function?I tried to load directly from memorystream (without saving file to disk) but it's still slow.I read plenty info about how RichTextBox is slow and all. Has there been any improvements in Visual Studio 2010?

Oct 27, 2009I have a function that I use quite a bit that I wrote more than 2 years ago. It works fine but recently I saw how it can use up a good deal of time under certain condition. Here's some code that uses the function SelectValue The function works so that if you had N which you plug into the function rising continuously while SelectLimit was set to 255 then SelectValue would match N until N reached 256. SelectValue would start to descend to 0 until it reached 0 and then it would again ascend to 255 and the process would repeat. So SelectValue(255, 255) would return 255 and SelectValue(256, 255) would return 254. SelectValue(257, 255) would return 253.

The function works exactly as I want it to but if one of you knows a way to write this so that it will process faster then you can let me know. I get a result for processing time of 6.11 seconds on my computer for the above code.

Sep 17, 2010I made a picture box and imported an image named Title.jpg. Later I made adjustments to the picture and imported it again without deleting the original(mistake). The new one had the name automatically changed to Title1.jpg. So I deleted the original image from resources and renamed Title1.jpg back to Title.jpg.
Now I got two problems. First, only Title.jpg is on the solution explorer, but Title1.jpg(along with Title.jpg) still pops up on the resource list when I click on Image property of the picture box. There's only the name and no picture, and I don't see a delete option. How do I get rid of it? Second, even though I changed the image to the new Title.jpg in the picture box, the old one is displayed when running the app. What's up with that?
