This reason for this is that i'm trying to make a hexagonal grid that needs each cell to work independantly of each other when clicked, and needs to include a changing image. I'm trying to do this with pictureboxes, but even though i've made the GIF images i'm using transparent in photoshop, They aren't displayed as such in design view or at runtime, as the corners stay grey. This works fine when I give the location of the image (the full path ) on my computer - but then of course it will not work if I use the solution on a different computer .

View 2 RepliesThis is for my really advanced game maker. Which is really working well. But when I went to remake the game player and speed it up, I quit painting the map on the form and the char. So my idea now is the make a picturebox on the form contain the map image and then make another picturebox on top of that one. Now the first pictreubox contrains controls the user created, very useful thats why I switched to a picturebox. And the second one contains the char,anyway, The one that contains the char needs to be able to show the controls behind it, or my game maker wont work. The char image its self is transparent but I need to make that picturebox show all the controls behind it so that if that picturebox moves onto a user control they can still see it beneath the char.

The initial image is Transparent, however, once you create another image very close to it, there is a "box" around it. That "box" is what I am trying to get rid of. I have no clue on how to get rid of it. Yes, I have made the image itself, transparent, as the initial image is transparent. Just any image that makes contact with the other images show the "box".

I have an application which first load an 1200*800 image into an 600*400 picturebox. When i crop the whole image in picturebox and save it, the size will be 600*400. How can i make it save in 1200*800?

View 1 RepliesI made a picture box and imported an image named Title.jpg. Later I made adjustments to the picture and imported it again without deleting the original(mistake). The new one had the name automatically changed to Title1.jpg. So I deleted the original image from resources and renamed Title1.jpg back to Title.jpg.
Now I got two problems. First, only Title.jpg is on the solution explorer, but Title1.jpg(along with Title.jpg) still pops up on the resource list when I click on Image property of the picture box. There's only the name and no picture, and I don't see a delete option. How do I get rid of it? Second, even though I changed the image to the new Title.jpg in the picture box, the old one is displayed when running the app. What's up with that?

How I can compare a gif image I have with a certain part of the screen. For example lets say I have the gif for the Close window button (top right hand of the window incase your confused). I would want the program to check the top right hand of the screen in the exact coordinates and see if the pixels match. if so return a variable true.

I've got an unusual request. I have an image that will always have bounds that are of Base 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64,...) in both dimensions. I need to know if there's a way that I can get a small 16 x 16 square (or smaller, still of base 2) portion of the image. I'm planning on overlaying a grid on this image that way the user can select a portion of it and then the program creates a dynamic image from the selected grid square to use. Is this possible to do? I did a quick search on the Image class and didn't see anything that stood out. Note: This is for framework 2.0, but not picky about jumping to 4.0 if necessary.
