I have a form which shows a graph which was made in Microsoft Chart control 6.0...
I have placed a option in the menubar which will export the graph made to an image file...
Can some one tell how to export the graph part of the form as a image (any format will do)...
I was thinking of taking a screenshot and saving it but i cudnt get the controls in vb to take a screenshot of a specified area on the form.
I have a requirements in "Windows form exe" that when we click on the exe, the data from the Oracle database should be exported to another Oracle database and also the data that has been exported should be emailed with excel attachments to intended recipents.
I searched but couldn't get the code as such and also i am not able to implement the functionality.
im making an application in vb.net (duh!) anyway i have created and coded the whole project and it performs exactly as i want it to (i dont need code help). my problem lies with the fact that my project is 2-3 parts
1.a setup form that gathers inital data about the enviroment stores this data encrypted in a config file. after inital setup this form is not displayed again. but needs to be run on both computers
2. the second form is the real application form im in the process of turning this part in to a background service anyway this form is the one that establishes the connection between two nodes it works correctly
3. the config files
anyway here is my problem i want to make this application distributional with just one file the (.exe) and have this .exe make everything else happen. it runs the setup form and creates the first config file which it does then it needs to produce a copy of just the second form and the config file to transfer to workstation #2 that will run independtly without the whole application which i cant make happen then it needs to turn both workstations application on by only starting one on either computer and invoke the other computer to start its corrosponding app also no idea how to make this happen any ideas or suggestions as to where to look to try to find my answers.im thinking i might need to make two seperate applications (a setup app, and the running app) and include them both in a project and use the setup.exe to to package them together this is a little side project that im making for my self to use to make programming a little easier so i plan on giving it out to some fellow students to test and tell me what they think so im not really worried about ease of use or complicated procedures yet but if it turns out to work and actually be of use to anyone else i would be willing to rewrite it to distribute to the masses but for now i just want it to work for me.
i have a image with four squares evenly spaced out. I want a picturebox's image to be one of the squares at a time so it's like a animation except it's only one image.

I am running into trouble converting the ActiveChart.Paste method. I can't get it to work in VB.NET. It either throws an error or It just leaves an empty box when I do it in VB.NET (if I add .chart before the paste it runs, but doesn't paste any values), but in VBA it fills in the values of interest. I have tried creating a chart object, but that did not seem to work either.
This code works in VBA[URL]..However, when I try it from vb.net, I get the following error. (Image attached)

I have a windows application that exports data from a datagridview into excel. Now this data can change based on what a user does in the datagridview itself. An example would be out of 1,000 files the user can sort through using DataGridViewAutoFilter to search for a handful of rows, say 50 or 143 or whatever.
The user then clicks on the button which exports to the excel worksheet. I'm looking for some help on getting a subtotal count at the bottom of the export. I would like to be able to have some additional code in place that would subtotal the records that the user exports into the worksheet. Let me show you what I have so far:

View 3 RepliesI'm using VB 2010, accessing a MS Access database. I have constructed a simple Windows Form returning data from the db, one field of which has a reference to an image I'm trying to display together with the data from each individual record.
I have a field with a product number, that matches the jpg file name (ie, the product number 5505 matches an image that I want to display, namely 5505.jpg). I've even created a new field in the db called 'Image', that contains the full name 5505.jpg.
So, I've connected to the db with an OleDbAdapter, and all the data fields are displayed via bound textboxes. I've been able to display a single 'set' image with a PictureBox, but I'm not sure how the make the connection between the returned data (txtSearchImage which is, say, '5505.jpg'), and getting the Windows Form to display this.
Am I on the right track using a PictureBox? I've tried binding this via the PictureBox properties to the relevant data field, but (obviously) it doesn't make the connection to the image file on my hard drive.

I've got an unusual request. I have an image that will always have bounds that are of Base 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64,...) in both dimensions. I need to know if there's a way that I can get a small 16 x 16 square (or smaller, still of base 2) portion of the image. I'm planning on overlaying a grid on this image that way the user can select a portion of it and then the program creates a dynamic image from the selected grid square to use. Is this possible to do? I did a quick search on the Image class and didn't see anything that stood out. Note: This is for framework 2.0, but not picky about jumping to 4.0 if necessary.

In my project, I have a form with a background pic that I like, but unfortunately, I also have a ListView on that form which covers most of the picture. Now, is there a way to find the part of the background image concealed by the ListView, and then display it as a background image of the ListView at decreased opacity? To date it doesn't look like VSTA will be the replacement. Automation from an External VB.NET app is certainly possible, but leaves something to be desired for speed and integration. Compiled Add Ins are the Cadillac of choice but can be a royal pain to debug and develop. Autodesk now provides a lightweight VB.NET script interface called iLogic. It's main purpose is to allow extreme customization of Solid Modeling parts. The code actually resides inside the Part Model file.
