Interface And Graphics :: Create Bitmap With Text And Transformation Generic - Error Occured In Gdi+
Sep 17, 2008
I am trying to create bitmap with my text and transformation. I am sure that there is no error in my code. Because this code is worked previously. Here is my code.
I have a problem when trying to save a picture box image ( I am using vb2008 express edition)When i load my windows form I create a folder called images and the current date (eg images 24062011) using the following code.
Code: Dim fold As String = "images" & " " & Format(Now(), "ddMMyyyy") If My.Computer.FileSystem.DirectoryExists("C:usersmickdesktop" & fold) Then MsgBox(" file exists")
[code].....
this works fine and creates the folder on my desktop. I then load an image into a picturebox and try to save it using the following code which is where the problem starts.
Code: Dim filename As String = Format(Now(), "ddMMyyyy") Dim imagename As String = "image" Dim fileext As String = Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Bmp.ToString
[code].....
so my problem is why does the 1st statement give me the error as surely as I have declared that fold = the folder name then that path should be correct, as the program is set to save the image automatically, not using the savefiledialogue I don't want to have to manually type in the folder name every time I use the program.
I have some code that takes a screen capture of my monitor. This code seems to work perfectly OK and can take multiple screen captures, apart from when I do a Print Screen using the keyboard or open SnagIT 8, when I then try to run my code again I get an error "A generic error occured in GDI+" I am at a bit of a loss, I have had a look on the internet, but everything I seem to find appears to be related to web apps. and access permissions. This is a window based application and therefore can not seem to find an answer.[code]
I've got the coding below to make a screenshot and store it in a jpg file`.. this works fine on my computer with vb.net installed. However when I tried running it on an other computer it gave me this exception:
'a generic error occured in gdi'
'the coding
PHP
Dim screenImage As New Bitmap(My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Width, My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Height) Dim g As System.Drawing.Graphics = System.Drawing.Graphics.FromImage(screenImage)
[Code]....
I've read on internet that this is a write permission issue or it has something to do with the stream. Anyway I dunno how to alter the coding so that every user can make a screenshot.
i try to save image to a folder on a server. i load the image from a fileupload control, resize it and save to the folder. this works fine when i run from Visual studio. But when i deployed to the server, i get the error: "Generic Error Occured in gdi+". In trying to solve this, i give network service and asp.net accounts permissions to the folder.

I'm having an issue with some code I'm trying to write that takes a screenshot of the current screen and saves it to a bitmap file on my local PC.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim tempScreenshot = New Bitmap(Screen.PrimaryScreen.Bounds.Width,
faster way to flood fill an area of a bitmap? It basically acts just like the fill flood bucket in MS Paint. clsBitmapImage is a Bitmap variable.
Code:
Code: Public Sub FloodFill(ByVal AtPoint As Point, ByVal newColor As Color) Dim oldColor As Color = clsBitmapImage.GetPixel(AtPoint.X, AtPoint.Y) If oldColor.ToArgb <> newColor.ToArgb Then
What i'm trying to do is fill a non rectangular region (actual build up out of 6 points) and draw a bitmap in such a way that it stretches with the region. Now for drawing a normal bitmap or even a trapezoid bitmap there are examples on the net. but drawing anything more then that with GDI+..
How do I rotate a bitmap image that has been placed in a picturebox? I need to make it appear upside down or rotated according to user input. I can't find anything in the properties to do this
I need to write a code to find identical adjacent pixels in a bitmap image. It should work as the 'magical wand' in Photoshop. My images are always black and white (white background with car parts drawed in black). Given the x,y coordinate for a single black pixel in the whole image, the code should find (and paint with another color, say red) all other black pixels that are linked to that one, and so on, until all linked black points will be painted in red.

All other parts will remain black. Does it make sense? At the end, there are two pictures (before and after) to help understanding what I need to do to the images.I tried a simple 8-pixel adjacent approach for every pixel (starting on initial coordinate) but it turns out into a very stupid and endless looping algorhitm.
I'm writing an application which as part of it draws an image on a Logitech G15v2 keyboard's LCD. For the most part the function works fine, but after a while of running, one of the lines throws a "Generic Error in GDI+" The problem, according to a stack trace, is in Bitmap.GetHbitmap():
at System.Drawing.Bitmap.GetHbitmap(Color background) at System.Drawing.Bitmap.GetHbitmap() at CSCI171_TermProject.G15.Tick(Single Interval) in C:UsersSukasaCSCI171Term ProjectCSCI171-TermProjectG15.vb:line 45"
I've read a few threads mentioning this error, but that was in the context of saving a file, not getting its associated HBitmap. Would anyone with more experience with GDI+?For better reference, here's the full code module:
Public Module G15 Private G15 As New G15Lib.G15Interface Private G15BaseImage As New Bitmap("GFXG15-BGImg.png") Private G15Minimap As New Bitmap(43, 43, Imaging.PixelFormat.Format32bppArgb)
im working on my school project to create an application with a spreadsheet form.. some forums advice me to use "Hosting Office in .NET applications" but its not what i need.. I've already tried to use the datagridview but i cant add rows..(unless the user input a data in every row). please tell me how to manipulate the datagridview for me to able to add rows and columns automatically...
I want to create a table as displayed in the image in VB.net. How do i do it ?? I tried LISTVIEW with Gridlines, but it has both horizontal and vertical lines, but in the image there is only Vertical lines.
I tried to create a lineshape and make it visible when a timer ticks. Also tried to set everything that would matter when creating it(border colors and thickness etc)
But still, I got no results.
Code: Dim line = New Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.LineShape(CX, CY, ccx, ccy) line.Parent = New Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.ShapeContainer() line.Enabled = True
I have a vb2008 combo box with the DropDownStyle property set to DropDownList. Now, when I set the text property to something programatically nothing happens. That is, the "something" doesn't show up on the control with list collapsed. It still doesn't show even if I force an update(If DropDownStyle property is set to DropDown, setting the text property programatically works fine, even without forcing an update).
I want my Richtext box to be populated with a text string that contains HTML-style tags to set colour, underline etc. When I try to remove the tags using .cut(), the first cut always works, the second cut only sometimes. Here's a sample to test it:Create a new project and add a button and a richtext box.Add the following code:
Code: Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim testString As String = "ABC<R>DEF</R>GHIJKL"
[code]....
This code works fine. The text between the tags is turned red, then the tags are removed. Now rem out the msgbox line and run again.Sometimes it works, sometimes the second cut fails with no message or warning.I am using Visual Basic 2010
Visual Studio 2010 v 10.0.30319.1 .NET framework v 4.0.30319
I have a rich text box with images and the formating all setup right. I am tyring to print them to the default printer. I think I am on the right track but need some direction.
Private Sub PrintDocument1_PrintPage(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Drawing.Printing.PrintPageEventArgs) Handles PrintDocument1.PrintPage Dim fnt As New Font("Arial", 8, FontStyle.Regular, GraphicsUnit.Point) e.Graphics.DrawString(rtbReceipt.Text, fnt, Brushes.Black, 0, 0) e.HasMorePages = False End Sub
This prints only the text in rtbReceipt, but no images and no format.
I am trying to construct a generic interface class with generic functions. My goal was to use this to implement multiple worker classes for database interaction that have the same basic functionality. Each class will deal with different object for example, category, product or supplier but unless the the functions in the interface are generic that this won't work. This is the interface code that I have but I don't know if I have done it correctly. [code]
Is there a way to enter text in a text box programatically, without the "changed" event being fired? Or do I have to use a flag to indicate that nothing should be done when the text is changed by the program?
I have a loop that reads text files. If search criteria matches, then the matching data is inserted into a text box along with a link that links directly to the text file. The code to create the link looks like this:
String.Format("<a href=""{0}"">Click to open File</a>", strLogFilePath)
The only problem is it is not showing as a link in the rich text box. Instead it appears as the following: (NOTE: I removed the actual file path for privacy reasons)
<a href="file path">Click to open File</a>
The 'DetectUrls' property is set to true. I even copied the result line from the text box into a text file then saved as an '.htm' file and verified the link works.
If I have a control, in this case a button, can I restrict the area it considers valid for text?
In the attached image, the left and right arrows are custom drawn in the paint even, I also have a scroll timer that scrolls the text if the length exceeds the buttons width as measured by Graphics.MeasureString.
I want to restrict the text from red line to red line so when the text scrolls it does not interfere with the arrow indicators, can the text area be overridden to some custom region?
