is there a way to transfer all items in a listbox into a listview set to detailed? using vb.net 08 and 2010. i dont have any subitems on the listview. Have a nice day! Simon If you donīt Believe in it, Then it Doesn't Exist!
I am using VB.NET (version 2008). I have two types of items populating in a listbox (checked listbox). For example: lets say one is type "A" and other is "Type B". Their names maybe same so if the user sees those items in listbox then he won;t be able to determine their type until he click on them and checks out its properties. I wanted that I add each item to listbox and colour them so that blue for example means type "A" is there and red means the other. So this way I will be able to know at a glance that how many item of what type is present. I guess it may not be possible to do that in a standard checkedlistbox. I am also using component factory's krypton controls which enhance the gui of an application. But I dunno if I can progress using that.
I have two listview in a separate form, basically what i want to do is whenever I select a row in my first listview the items in that selected row will be copied in my second listview which is empty.
I am having problems with copying from one listbox to another and keeping the paths of the files in the listbox's. At the moment i have two listbox's, listbox1 shows the list of files without the directory paths showing. Listbox2 is used to add items from listbox1 which work ok but what i need is to be able to preserve the directory paths to each file. how to do this and have searched high and low for a solution without any luck.
I have worked out one way of doing it but i think there is a better way of doing it as the reverse does not seem to work. So basicly i want listbox1 to list the files without the paths and pass it on to listbox2 so that the files can be copied to temp directory as they are being add to listbox2.
Below is my
[CODE]...................
Routine to add items from listbox1 to listbox2: I have created another listbox3 (which is in bold), which is hidded under listbox1 and holds all the paths to the files and is use to copy the files from there original directory to a new directory.
[CODE]...................
Routine to add items back to listbox1 and remove them from listbox2. I have created another listbox4 which is hidden under listbox2 which i was trying add the paths from listbox3.
I'm looking for some advice on my program that I had to create for a college project. The program works simply by copying one record from one listbox to the other listbox and then being able to remove the record from the second list box. But this is where the problem lies I can't for the life of me remove the selected item from the second list box using a remove command button.
I googled some code that takes listview contents and puts it into the clipboard, but it doesn't work, when I paste the contents into Excel it looks weird! Here's the code that copies listview contents to clipboard:
Public Sub CopyListViewToClipboard(ByVal lv As ListView) Dim buffer As New StringBuilder For i As Integer = 0 To lv.Items.Count - 1
[code]....
The code makes sense to me when I'm trying to see what it's doing but why in the world when I paste the contents into Excel it looks like this:I don't understand...everything is fine when I'm adding new items to the listview and all, but when I click "copy" and then paste it into ms excel this is it how it looks like...
i made a media player program and i am having many problems! the main issue is that i have a listview that displays music playlist, how can i get it to navigate to the next item after the clicked one is over that way users don't have to click on the next one to continue their playlist?
How can I save ALL of the items in a listview, items that were added by the user? I tried application Settings and tried creating a settings file but there is not a settings option for listview items.
Im trying to print out all the items/sub items of a listview into one string.
here is the code i have:
For Each lvwItem In ListView1.Items ' Print the subitems of this particular ListViewItem For Each lvwSubItem In lvwItem.SubItems
[Code]....
How do i just print out the value (MyItem1) without the "ListViewSubItem: {}" part? I know i can use a string function to remove this, but id rather not
I have the code below and when I try to populate the listview it populates all of the listview items but only the first subitem. No clue what I've got wrong.[code...]
I am using the below code to find all the items in a listbox using vb.net 2005. But how can remove the non searched items from the listbox after searching?
probs a simple answer but my mind is blank atm. I have this code to move all items from listbox3 to listbox1 but it wont move them unless i select 1, then it moves all items.
I'm making an application that does some stuff involving the given subject, so this is very crucial to the completion and efficiency of my application. What I'm in need of today is simple (well, "seems" simple). I have one listbox that I want to populate with directories file's names. I don't mean the files inside the directories, but the names of the folders inside the directory. So, I have "c:empdog", I'd click on my button or whatever and search for the directory and I choose "temp", said listbox would show "dog".
UPDATE: Oh, BTW. It doesn't HAVE to be a listbox, it can be anything (IE: Textbox, Labels, Etc.).
I have a copying error with my program. I am trying to copy the internet cache folder, and the error states that some files cannont be copied (read only maybe?) How can i make it copy, or just skip the uncopyable files?
How can I remove the "ListViewItem: {" when copying from listview?I am copying them to a listbox from a listview and when I do this is what it looks like
I thought that this would work but it doesn't for some reason
For i As Integer = 0 To ListBox1.Items.Count - 1 ListBox1.Items(i) = System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Replace(ListBox1.Items(i), "ListViewItem: {", "") Next
my homework question is to display the selected items from a listbox (multi-extended) in a label. I need to display all the selected names in a label. the simplest most uncluttered way of doing this. This is what I've got but it doesn't work.
Why is this code having the opposite effect? If It's checked in the checkedlistbox it's not check in my view, if it's not check in my checkedlistbox it is checked in the grid.
EDIT: More specifically. The CheckState.Checked is always the opposite. .Checked means it's not checked.
Private Sub CheckedListBox1_ItemCheck(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ItemCheckEventArgs) Handles CheckedListBox1.ItemCheck Try
