How To Disable An Application After 30 Days
May 9, 2011I've got a really good idea for an application I want to develop and possibly try and sell online. There is one thing I have never done before, and that is disabling an application after 30 days. Let's say I want to let users try out the application for 30 days, and if they haven't bought it after that time, then the application disables itself.
Any possible ideas on how to implement something like this?
Cannot Start Application Error - Application Validation Did Not Succeed
Oct 21, 2006I am installing an app I built in VB, and am getting the error "Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue." I have successfully built and installed this app previously. What I think caused the issue is I attached the .mdf file I have referenced in my application to my SQL Server. I then detached the database in SQL Server, opened my VB app and re-built the app. When I tried to install the app, I received the error. Attached are the details of the error message.

Jun 10, 2011I want to add a feature to my trial version of the application. After first activation, I want to make it limited to 90 days. But I am concerned about user's changing the date of system hence deceiving my application. Is there any possibility to make it fool proof in a way that even if user takes the calender back, application expires after 90 days of first activation? First activation date has been saved in the database.

Oct 28, 2009Create an application that allows the user to select or enter into a combo box the number of days a person will work, and calculates the total amount of pay she will receive over that period of time. Salary is one penny the first day, two pennies the second day, four pennies the third say, and continuing to double each day.
The combo box must list the following items: 30, 180, 365, and 1000. Must be the default drop down box. Use a validating event procedure on the combo box.
The program should go through a loop once for each day, doubling the number of pennies with each iteration of the loop. You will need a running totl of the number of pennies that you add to with each iteration. To calculate the total amount of pay, multiply the total number of pennies by .01 and show the result in currency format.

Sep 28, 2010I have a date in the future e.g. 13/10/2008 I need to subtract the current date (today is the 28/09/2010) minus 7 days, so thats 21/09/2010 minus 13/10/2008, which would equal erm, 720 something ? But the current date won't always be 28/09/2010, obviously. I need the code for this. EDIT: When i said future I mean past :)

Sep 13, 2010When using WCF together with Enterprise Library 5.0's validation application block, is it possible to customize the error messages which are sent back to the client? I've added the ValidationBehaviour-attribute to my service contract and the FaultContract-attribute to the operation:

The service returns ValidationFault as it should, but instead of having the error message and tag which I've defined, it uses some generic values. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Jul 28, 2010I have a solution with two projects. The main project connects to the second project via a reference, and the reference path is local to my machine. It looks like it references the .exe file.So when I publish the main project (ClickOnce), i get the following error:
Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue.In the log file, under Error Details, it says
System.Deployment.Application.InvalidDeploymentException (RefDefValidation)
- Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the download assembly Project2.exe
- Source: System.Deployment
How can I include this second project? Should I publish it, then reference the published files? What do i reference? The .application file?Is there a way to just include this second project, so when I do publish the main project, the second one just goes along with it?

The program keeps on crashing if the user does not select the corresponding amount of display records from above for the amount of attributes they want for the SELECT part of the query in the intreface in form 1.
How would i go about making something where the number of SELECT attributes selected which are listed in a string create the correct number of textbox fields in the results form (form2)
