Brief of my project: Taking attendance using RFID reader and RFID passive tag. Main tasks:
1) Scan a Tag and Tag ID is transmitted to GUI.
2) Tag ID is matched with Student ID in database.
3) Successfully matched Student ID is displayed on GUI and LCD.
When i had experienced this problem, student ID was only display on UI but not LCD. After that, my system hang. This happened only when the data of tag scanned is taken from text file through OpenFileDialog. Manually add of data via UI just work fine.

When the application attempts to read, I am receiving the error message "System.IO.IOException: The Device Is Not Ready". I have tried running the application as an Administrator, however I still receive the same error.The files in question do not appear to be in use by any other application.

I'm have a very peculiar error. I have a query from a VB.NET app that hits a Oracle instance. I retrieve that data into a dataset, then dump the data into a spreadsheet. Always for the same row and same column i retriving an error:

View 13 RepliesI know I'm not the only developer experiencing this issue but only within the last month I started receiving Visual Studio 2010 hangs while running running a simple ASPX web project within the IDE. On stopping the execution or closing the web page VS2010 hangs and becomes completely unusable - stating that VS is busy. It never returns and I have to stop the DEVENV process, resulting in a complete shutdown of VS.
Until now (1 1/2 years) I've been developing a Winforms application with no issues, other than VS2010 IDE errors that have been documented and I've been able to work around. Now, like my Web project, I am also experiencing the same hang but not as frequently. Other documented cases is this forum don't apply in this case since I'm not working with an IIS web site.
Additionally, in reading the forum messages I notice this issue has been around for years and has caused a great deal of grief and delay to many development projects. I'm running Win7 Pro, VS2010 pro on a Pentium Dual-Core CPU 2.20 Ghz with 4 GB memory laptop running in 32 bit mode. I'm very concerned at this stage of the process to upgrade to VS2010 SP1 since I've read too many horror stories online and can't take the risk of affecting the only support environment i have for Winforms application that is currently in production
In a windows forms application I am attempting to read a file from a share into a filestream.I then start impersonating and write the stream to another share that only my impersonation account has access to.This works fine for small files. But if I attempt this on a 90 meg file I recieve a "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service" error on the following line:

I wrote the code below which calculates the length of a line on the form and save record. An error occurs when the programme tries to save the record. It gives me "Cannot perform '=' operation on System.Int32 and System.String" error. I checked the data type of "ID"(int), "Microscope"(Varchar), "Magnification"(int) and "Calibration"(Decimal), and they are fine so far as I know.

However, it returns all directories even system hidden ones.It seems that this just follows what I set in Windows for file and folder browsing, since I set the Windows to show all files, I think it's also showing all folders to me, I am not sure however.
I just want NOT to get the system directories like Recycle Bin and System Volume Information, how to do that?

The exception is in the lines where I 'Dim betterScores' above. The idea is that when the player wins a game their score is placed and held in the betterScore variable. It is then written to an xml file later on.

I'm running VB .NET 2005, and need to get the windows directory. I am aware of My.Computer.FileSystem.SpecialDirectories, but it doesn't have either the Windows directory or the Windows/System directory.
So, how do I get the windows and system directories?
System.UnauthorizedAccessException was unhandled. I'm following motcom's tutorial on creating a simple directory explorer, and everytime I try to expand I get the error above. How can I be getting that error on my own computer ? I'm on my administrator account, it happens even if I compile it and run it as administrator also. What could be causuing this ?

I have tried a few ways, mainly 'copying' the code from this recent codebank submission. However, I keep getting the obvious cross-thread call issue that I am adding nodes to the 'node' parameter, which is not allowed.
I am at a loss at how to do this otherwise. How can I update a Treeview like this if I have to recursively add nodes to the 'node' parameter, which is not 'available' in a separate thread?
So this is what I have right now, I can get it to copy But I am wanting to rename the files with the date inside of the new Directory name, It is going to be used for making a copy of outlook.pst files. But as you can see I can't put in concrete names of where to save it because I want the user to be able to choose where to save it as it will be saved on a server with folders for each individual user.
