currently i dont have any code to show but i am curently creating an application on a windows mobile 5 device and wondered how i can plot a route manually....ie what i want to be able to do is use the stylus to touch somewhere on the screen and plot that as point A, then touch the screen somewhere else and plot that as Point B (in some sort of database) so that i can review that route afterwards

I am developing a program where i will download and save an xml file from a url as abc.xml. I open the abc.xml in a datagridview with a dataset without problem.I am confused how can i read raw per raw the datagridview and assign the data in a database table? i am using vb 2008 + msde2005 express.I show the whole content of the xml file in the datagridview with the following [code]I dont know how to create a loop where i can read the datagridview line by line save data in variables (ex.strings) and save it in a databese table?

Using the attached code, the goal is to draw a series of 1x1 rectangles to produce an image of a line. The image begins okay at point (0,0) but ends up after 5600 passes through the loop at (1884,5273) instead of at (1965, 5244). To prove the scale factor accurate I also use Drawline to draw the entire line with the same scale factor. Drawline ends up at the correct location (1965,5244).
I've manually checked the calculations with the results as noted. I'm at a total loss to understand what's going on.

Currently there are functions to draw line or move to points, commonly known as LineTo(x,y) of MoveTo(x,y). I am wondering if there is also a LineTO or MoveTo function(s) for 3D, i.e. LineTo(x,y,z) or MoveTo(x,y,z).

I am trying to plot (draw) points that are calculated in my VB application and then represent them in real time with an accuracy of a couple percent. If VB can calculate the points in the microsecond time range, would it be reasonable to hang an external pulse source on a usb port and use the "Datachanged" event to count the pulses that will be summed and used to plot the points?Ultimately, this is a machine control application that requires "reasonably precise" timing - ie. CNC type control. The points are scaled and drawn and then step and direction signals are sent out through another USB port.

How to make back-up and restore point? what I want to happen is when I click the button back-up. It will generate a back-up of database in access on the current date. And if I click the button restore. the system will restore the last back-up point. So that when there is a file accidentally deleted, the system can retrieve it again.

The user will start will a score of 10, but everytime they click the button the user should lose 2 points off the score. But my code above that doesn't happen, when the user clicks the button it only happens once leaving the user with 8 points throughout the game.

View 2 RepliesIn need of some desperate help. Has anyone had any experience with a software product called Pres? The programme provides a function (userhook) that can run externally created dll's as the programme offers no COM support. The basic requirements for the dll are as follow.
1, The dll requires a public function named UserInstruction
2, The UserInstruction must have 5 parameters. The first and second of type long, the third a double array and the fourth and fifth parameters required type is a string.
This all seems pretty simple. But as .NET doesnt support exporting functions within a DLL to allow direct public access to the function through third party software it becomes tricky. After doing some research it seems as though this isn't possible in .NET. The only way I can see to do this is to convert the dll to Intermediate Language and play around with it once this is converted and then convert the IL code back to a DLL. I found this on the following site [URL]..After trying this when I try to use the DLL via Pres I am still getting no joy.

I have an app were the user can edit the size, color, and text of a button and I am hoping for an easy way to save this infomation. I am now saving the properties separately.
I have been trying to fix this and make this work for pretty much three days now. I already solved one problem being, I can't use the shell on one HDD and create another file onto a different drive other then the drive that the directory of the application is running in.
EX:
If I run a program that is on the C: drive and using a working directory that is on the C: drive, I can not create a file onto the F: drive.
