I would like to make a copy of an existing database in microsoft SQL Server 2005 in code, if that is possible. I'll need to make a copy of the original one, and change the name to some other name choice. All tables, stored procedures and such will be exactly the same.

I attached a picture of my existing panel with its controls in this thread, how do you copy it during run time? My project is a server/client application. whenever the client is connected and sends information to the server listening that information is displayed in the server but in a new panel with controls the same as the existing panel for the server, only the location and the information displayed is different. View 1 RepliesI am developing a fairly complex vb.net program with numerous forms, and custom classes, modules, etc. I want to start reorganizing the various folders for components of the program and have a few stupid questions.For one, I find that I cannot take a working executable and move it to a different folder on the same machine and have it work. My program drives numerous slave applications and I would like to group just the executables in a common folder. Do I need to carry additional files along with them to make them 'portable' on my own machine? I haven't discovered how to copy or move an existing project to a new folder. Things seem to blow up because of internal project references etc. Is there some way of copying or duplicating a working project without problems resulting?

I have vb .net windows form application that I want to connect to Microsoft access database using "Microsoft DAO 3.6 object library". My problem is that when I go to Project tab -> Add reference -> COM tab, there should have been "Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library" on the list, but for some reason It's not on the list. Then I googled, and found out that the location of "DAO360.DLL" is "Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedDAO". After clicking on Browse tab, I browsed to that location, and I guess I added reference on another way.This is the code that I used before for connecting to Access, but for some reason It doesn't work this way on this PC.

-- Combo box (Has items added, with the same names as the items in colunm 3. so it has 'RPG' and 'Puzzle')
Now what im trying to do is when the item in the combobox is changed say to 'RPG' only items in the db which have 'RPG' in the surname column are displayed in the listbox. I used Inno Setup to create the installer, which works just fine.
Now however, instead of having the ask the user to uninstall the current version, and then reinstall my new version, I want to be able to give the user an Update install exe which they can simply run and it will update the existing application.
One thing I would like is that the users Settings are not changed. So hence the following questions: 1. Where are the Settings stored? I thought it was in the user's Local Settings <Application Name> directory, but I cannot find my application there... I cannot find it in the All Users or Administrator 'accounts' directories either...
2. Are the Settings stored depending on the Version of your application? (Assembly Version / File Version)?
If 2. is true, then obviously changing the Application Version (which is logical in an Updated executable, no?) would also change the Settings back to default..? Can I avoid that?
Finally, is it enough to simply overwrite the executable? What registry 'work' do I need to do, or can Inno Setup do that for me? I am only using one other file which is the SharpZipLib DLL file.
I am currently writing a program in VB 2008. Here is what the program is intended to do: I need it to have two forms of input, so I want it to open existing text files and create new ones. Once the user has selected what input to be taken (either a file is opened or a new one is made, guessing multiple forms need to be used here) the user will then take the text file either created or opened and then be able to click a button which will sort all the text in the text file into alphabetical order and then display the results to the screen. While this happens, I need the words in the file to be counted by a counter (so a loop i guess) that then displays on which line each word appears on. I then need this information to be displayed in a text box on screen.
