In my VB .Net code, I am trying to create to launch MS Project Application. Dim prjApp As Microsoft.Office.Interop.MSProject.Application = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.MSProject.Application
But I am getting the exception as follows:
"Creating an instance of the COM component with CSSID {36D27C48-A1E8-11D3-BA55-00C04F72F325} from the
IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80010001".Note: This exception happens in 64 bit Windows 7 German OS. But the same code runs successfully in 32 bit Win XP (German and English) and 64 bit Windows 7 English OS.I have even tried the following steps in German 64 bit Win 7
1. Running the application in Administrator mode
2. Setting UAC to low.
3. Re-installing MS Project in German 64 bit Win 7.

I am writing a class project application that is loadable from within AutoCAD. This application generates an Excel workbook with extracted data. I am having a problem with Excel closing when finished. It seems the Excel instance hangs until my application is unloaded. I have found the section of code that seems to be causing to hang, but I'm not sure why its hanging to prevent it.
Below is a copy of my code for the class (top to bottom with exception of the FileExistValidation method... too many characters ). The code section that is commented out seems to be what is causing it to hang. If I uncomment that, Excel hangs, with it commented out, Excel closes out in the background.[code]...

If you mark your application using "Make Single Instance Application" option in the application settings tab and run your application under a GUEST account or a restricted limited/standard account the application throws UnAuthorizedAccessException or CantStartSingleInstanceException.
Take the following steps to reproduce this behavior.
1) Create Windows Form application.
2) Enable the "Make Single Instance Application" in the project properties.
3) Log onto a GUEST account and open the application twice to simulate StartUpNextInstance.
We need developers to reproduce this behavior and post any valuable input if you experience these symptoms.
When posting information please include the following:
a) The operating system version + service pack.
b) The .NET framework version used.
c) Verify this symptom is present when running under GUEST account.
To workaround this issue turn off the "Make Single Instance Application" option ad create a Local named mutex in the StartUp() event.

I added a setup project to a winform vb.net app which otherwise builds fine. Once the setup project is added to the solution, however, the build fails with the following error;Unrecoverable build error.As there does not seem to be much information I can't figure what the problem is. When I try to compile my VB.NET web project, I get an error that reads:[PropertyName] is not a member of '[Namespace.Class]'The class referenced is part of a dll that the project references. The property definitely exists in the referenced class, and its access modifier is Public. What's more, if I update the reference, or just remove it and add it back, the error goes away: the intellisense shows my property -- all is fine.. that is until I try to compile again. Then the error returns. I've even restarted Visual Studio to no avail. What is going on?[UPDATE]After Will's comment, I've changed the namespace to something I am absolutely sure is unique. Now, I am getting more compiler errors of the same genre. The compiler is not recognizing some of the overloads although they are right there in intellisense. Weird!

I have a single instance VB 2010 application I know how to communicate with the next instances run through the StartupNextInstance application event. The usual way of working with this is parsing command line arguments of the new instance and continue execution of the old instance. What I would like to do is replace the running instance with the new one. Is there any way to do this other than disabling the single instance property ?

I wrote an application on windows XP using visual studio 2008. Based on the .net framework 3.5. For some reason that I do not understand the application refuses to run on windows 7. You would think that if the .net framework 3.5 was installed on the windows 7 machine it would run.

my aim is to create a new instance box at the push of a button, the box has strings name and Id to be filled concatenating the auto generated ID i.e. 0 to 210 plus a string "Box" added by the user. I had problems earlier creating a structure within the class box, frankly I am not sure if the code below will work, as i try to run it in VB I get an error indicating that I am using the variables strBoxPositions() and strBoxNumbers() without assigning a value to it. The thing is the strBoxPositions() should automatically be filled by arrPosition() which will be created at the same time the new object box is created and the strNumbers() will be created with empty strings to be filled at latter stage by the used as and when necessary.
how could I initialise those arrays to get the program to run and perhaps ill be able to see if the code works or not, or just correct this code with a better way of code with comments, also if possible some indication on how could I update the strNumbers array inputing the strings one at a time on a text box field.

I would like to create a global instance of a User Class that can be referenced by all the forms in my MDI application.This object may be set during the login procedure by the Login form but the user attributes are to be available for other forms. I have just written an application in visual studio 2005, and would like to publish it for use on another computer. When I try to run the publisher, it fails and reports that it is missing an XML file that is located in the bin folder. I have checked the bin folder and the file is there. I am not sure what I am doing wrong? Has anyone else seen this type of error before?
Also, I should point out that while I was creating this app, I would some times copy the project to my desk top, and then change the name of the project folder. For example: myProgramV0 would be come myProgramV1. Then I would copy this back into where I normally keep my VB projects. I do not know if this had an effect on the program or not.

I've built an app that uses the Groupwise (email client) API. It will perform as expected when I hit F5,everything is good, when I use ctrl+F5 it fails with an access violation (see below). I tried to used JIT debugging, but I never get to see the source code, just the assembly. The app *never* fails with this error when run in the IDE.Groupwise documentation is sparse.[code]...

In my code the application will restart using the Application.Restart statement from another form named frmDatabase.
The application seems to restart while debugging but yet the dataset, tables etc which is declared right below the class declaration for the startup form seems to fail initializing when the restart is done.
Compiling and running the application works like a charm and there is no error like this when running the executeable.
I also Inserted a breakpoint in the Form_Load event and the debugger seems to skip all the statements when the application is restarted all the way down to where the exception occurs.

I am using msn api to read contacts out of msn
Interop.messengerapi.dll
When I run the app on my machine everything works perfect. But when I run it on another machine, the following error appears:
Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {B69003B3-C55E-4B48-836C-BC5946FC3B28} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 8007000e.I have merged the interop messenger dll properly with imerge, so that cant be the problem.
Also a memory problem must be out of the question. I only use 300mb from the 4GB. There is also enough disk space available.
