I have a class called Customer. It has some property like custID,custName..etc. Inside Customer class I have a function which returns an array of customer.
I wrote a function like this :
Public Function InitLoadCustomerDetails() As Customer()
sql = "SELECT* FROM tblCust"
ds = classDC.queryHandler(sql, "InitCustomerDetails")
Dim customerArray(classDC.maxrow - 1) As Customer
Dim currentCustomer As New Customer
[Code] .....
But it is not returning an array. Just a customer variable??
Public Function InitLoadCustomerDetails() As Customer()
Return customerArray
End Function
Fix this to return an array of customer!!
I am having trouble setting up these classes.I need to set up a customer collection class that has one function GetCustomer(ByVal customerNumber As Integer) As Customer..The customer class reads a file and returns 5 fields and x number of records.My question is do I set up the 5 properties (fields) in the Customer class and if there are 10 records that match how do I return the customer object to the customer collection class. I don't care about exact syntax but could someone show me how these 2 classes should look?
Before adding rows to a table I am evaluating the SSN number. These will later be flagged for correction so I am setting a datatable column to true or false if it passed muster or not.
I wrote a function to check the number and make the determination plus pad it with zeros and hyphens where they should be. My problem is I want to return the results in an array. I am getting system.string[] as the return value.[code]...
I want to return an array from a function.dt is a DataTable that is global
HTML Dim dr As DataRow For x As Integer = 0 To adoc.GetUpperBound(0) dr = ds.Tables(0).NewRow()
[code].....
I'm definitely missing something here. I am trying to return an array forn the sql statement, chich I can reference as abom() in the original source.The ultuimate goal is to manually populate dt.
I'm trying to call a function from a sub, and have it return an array to the original sub.
I currently have:
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Call Registry_GetUsers() End Sub
[code]....
Which works, but I want to loop through each of the items in users from within the original sub, not the function, as it currently does.So I need to return the array to the original sub, so I can then iterate through it from there.
Public Function Foo() as String() Dim bar As String = {"bar1","bar2","bar3"}
Return bar End Function
My situation is similar to the code sample above where I'm returning a string array from a function.
What I would like to do is just return the string array without having to declare a variable first and then return the variable.Something like this, although this obviously doesn't work:
Return {"bar1","bar2","bar3"}
Is it possible to do this, I can't seem to find a method that works?
Expected Results: A scalar result of the comparison between Array1 and Array2 such that when Array1>Array2 it is true. See expected array above. Actual Results: When Result(x) is true, all elements become Array1(x) and Array2(x) .What is wrong with the function?
I'm working on a program dealing with jagged arrays.Code is below.The FindPath() function works perfectly.It essentially randomly chooses an action from 3 possible choices.The goal of this function is to make it to position (3,3) from (0,0).Sometimes it makes it, sometimes it doesn't.It gives up after 2000 moves.
The PushButton() function is where I have the problem.I want to run the FindPath() function 2000 times, and return the resulting list of moves into intLists()(), my jagged array.I want to use
intRuns = 0 For intRuns = 0 To intLists.GetUpperBound(0) lstMoveList.Items.Add(intLists(intRuns).GetUpperBound(0)) 'here is where I get the problem.
this section of code to dump the number of attempts it took into a listbox on the main window.I do this at the bottom of the FindPath() function, but that is for testing purposes only.I eventually want to take the successful attempts and manipulate those, so eventually I get the minimum possible number of movements to get from the starting point of (0,0) to the ending point of (3,3).
Function PushButton() Dim intRuns As Integer Dim intLists(2000)() As Integer[code]...............
This is the error when i try to execute my code "Procedure or function 'Get Customer data' expects parameter '@Name', which was not supplied."
objCommand.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure objCommand.CommandText = "GetCustomerData" Dim ObjParam1 As New SqlParameter("@Name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 2000)
[Code].....
In debugging, i c the value in ObjParam1.value that I'm passing.
I'm trying to add 3 customers to an array that I can then display in 4 seperate text boxes on my form. First Name, Last Name, Account Number and Balance.
Public Class Customer Private firstName As String Private lastName As String Private accountNo As Integer
[code]....
Error 2 Argument not specified for parameter 'account' of 'Public Sub New(first As String, last As String, account As Integer, balance As Decimal)'.
I have the following problem: I select a customer from a dropdownlist and then the gridview should load all items of all orders of that customer. I have the following query:
Dim allorders = From ord In db.Orders
Where ord.CustomerID = Convert.ToInt32(CustomerDropDownList.SelectedValue)
[CODE]..............
I also tried to modify the query as follows:
Dim orderitems = From oi In db.OrderItems
Where oi.OrderNumber = (From From ord In db.Orders
[CODE]...........
But this does not work. I just started using LINQ.
A registeration sys using a Microsoft acres database I have a table named customer info to store customer details when registering and I need coding that will add the following to my table customer I'd , firstname, lastname , phonenumber and user also has to make selection between radio buttons male or female.
I am creating a class that searches a binary file for a specific customer number. I am using a binary search that keeps on slicing the file in half until I find the customer number while is sorted. Once it finds it I am positioning it at the first instance of that Customer number as there can be multiple records with the same Cus Number.
Now here is my question. I now need to loop through this Customers records and do some data base searches. Since I want to make my class as generic as possible what should I pass back to the calling class? An Array with all their records. If I do this I have to loop twice, once in the class and once when it passes the array bac to the original calling class?
I am trying to autocomplete customer surnames direct from the Customer Datatable, using the code below which I got from another thread, but nothing is happening.
Just so it's known, this question is mostly academic, even though I tried to use the concept in a real-world solution. I realize the example is contrived, but I believe the concept is valid.I want to write some fluent code like this:
[code]...
I realize that I can't force an anonymous type into a specific type (like implementing an interface or some other class), and I don't want the overhead of defining a specific class just to match my desired fluent name with the actual method name. So I was able to make the code work like this:
copy(my_first_file).to.Invoke(my_second_file)So there is no IntelliSense or type awareness there, and I have to include the Invoke in order to have the method run. How can I get more type safety and exclude the Invoke method, under these constraints: Anonymous Type returned from Method No additional classes or interfaces Preferably, I do not want to pass in another parameter to the copy() method that tells what type to return, unless copy becomes a generic method (but I think that means defining another class/interface, which I don't want to do)

only if it contains all of these words it should return the first instance (row3) then end or null the rest (row4).how can i get row 3 to show in message box now it has been found?
I want the Function to accept List(Of String), Array & String and similarly return List(Of String), Array & String respectively. The Function simply adds a string (month) to the input collection. I just want to use it for string, array and list with needing to think of conversions.

how return four value from a function. In general function will return single value but here i am going to return four different values. If possible please tell me how to store the function return values.
I've created my own version of HexToDec() to properly handle the negative flag. I saw other versions online that used "Not(value)" to do the Pos/Neg inversion, but that does not generate the proper value... No, it's not the most elegant my any means. But I couldn't find anything online that actually worked.
Long story short, I want to return NaN in the case that the function is passed a string that is not a valid hex string...
How do I do that? Everything I've tried generates a compiler error... (assign return value to double.nan, assign return value to non-numeric, etc)
Existing function is below:
Function HexToDec(ByVal hexStr As String, Optional ByVal signed As Boolean = False) As Long Dim lngFinal As Long
