I am working on a 1-page report, that basically consists to select 1 record from table and bind values to proper fields (eg. =Fields!name.Value).However, I have one field in the table that will be just "Y" or "N".When this field will be "Y" I would like to show in the report "Yes, I do."; otherwise I would like to show "No, I dont."

I am creating a project in VB.NET in which one of the reports require that the name of employees should be displayed as column names and whatever work they have done for a stated period should appear in rows below that particular column.Now as it is clear, the columns will have to be added at runtime. Am using an ODBC Data source to populate the grid. Also since a loop will have to be done to find out the work done by employees individually, so the number of rows under one column might be less or more than the rows in the next column.Is there a way to create an empty data table and then update its contents based on columns and not add data based on addition of new rows.
View 1 RepliesI have a RDLC report with a list that contains a table. I require a calculated column whose value depends on values from previous rows. Outside of a report I accomplish the same thing using code in a DataGridView's DataBindingComplete method.
From within a report how do I refer to specific cell values from previous rows? embedded code, but I have not had luck (#Error).
My client wants that my table be filtered based on the values from a field regardless of its order.
Example: I want to search for a student whose surname is 'Thomas' but the keyword is not the first in the field. The 'Surname' field, instead, contains the value "Ian Thomas".
If I am going to use this code;

It will base the searching on the first characters of the field only.
I wrote some code to update the count of a field in a table, but it is very slow. So I'm trying to do it in a subquery to speed things up, but I'm not very good with subqueries. I'm getting the error "Subquery returned more than 1 value".

How to check if string entered in a text box matches a field in a data table.I have a form with two text boxes for users to enter their Username and Password. What I would like to do is when I am viewing a member's details, if I click a button 'Borrow DVD for Member', the member's ID number transfers over to the Borrow DVDs table in the Member ID which also would hold some information from the DVD Information table, but I'm sure if i can figure out how to do this firstly, I will be able to apply the same rule and work it out myself.I have been trying to use a query statement like;

I am currently going through Murachs Beginning vb.NET and have come across an problem with one of the exercises at the end of the chapter on collections. I basically have to update a simple Invoice application that was developed in an earlier chapter.It requires me to update the app such that everytime a new invoice object is created ( via pressing the new invoice button) this object is added to a queue. I am ok with this part.However I then have to edit the exit procedure so that the invoice objects are dequeued and displayed in a message box. This is where I am having my trouble. My code so far is shown below. This consists of the form.vb and the and the Invoice class.[code]I have also added a diagram of the format for the message displayed in the message box. I know I have to iterate through the queue but how can display the invoice customer name and invoice total?

Table structures:
Employees: EmployeeId(PK) , FirstName, LastName
CafeLogs: LogId (PK), CashierId, EmployeeId, Value, => CashierId and EmployeeId are the data from column EmployeeId of Empoyee table
Table relationship:

My text file is something like what you see below, and I want to populate the datagrid. Once I populate the datagrid, I'll use that kind of like an excel spreadsheet in the sense that I'll dip in and grab values based on row and column index to display to the user. This error has me completely baffled. There is no indication (that I ca FinD as to what field won't handle the information. Heres the situation:I am using an Accees query to insert a new record in a table with 49 fields. Of these fields, 1 is an integer, 7 are booleans and the other 41 are text fields. The text fields represent either Time of Day or a Timespan.
My field sizes are:
For time of day 8 digits(example 08:00 AM)
For a time span 5 digits(example 03:30) I will never exceed 2 digits for
hours
