the right direction on methods used to extract data to a form (fill out the fields)? I have use a form within my access database itself, however I do not want the users going into the database anymore to print. I have looked into using word, but it seems more complicated than it should be.

Now here is my problem! I want to have a form with a datagridview that displays all of the values I am querying. This shouldn't be a problem I guess. However, I have no idea how I can integrate two textboxes that can be used to enter the selection criteria (WHERE I_L.lfsnr LIKE '%1253') AND (l.sped_journal = '11-08')[/SIZE]. I have googled and read many threads so far but didn't stumble upon anything that would suit my needs and answer my question. Maybe it's just too elementary!? By the way, it is very important that the input of textbox1 ((WHERE I_L.lfsnr LIKE '%1253')) is linked to 3 positions in my SQL query to define the search criteria!
The worst thing is that I don't want to have a bindingnav displayed! I do not need any delete, update or add functions just the select option, however!
I have a project in Visual Studio 2008 and there is a working data connection to a MySQL database. In other words, I can query the db directly from Visual Studio and it will display the results.
I've tried a couple of approaches that I found online for writing a connection string and accessing the db, but no luck yet.
All I'm trying to do is code a button to query the db and then reset the text property of a label/textbox to display the results based upon another label/textbox value.
The pseudo-code I am imagining is something like this:

I'm creating an inventory application. It has a combo box for rooms, and I'm trying to code the "Display" button. I got it to open up the database in a new window, but I'm trying to get it to come up and search the database with the cmbRooms.Text information and compare it to the room data in the records. I'm wondering if that's even possible? If so, am I able to do it from the Main Form, or do I have to modify the code in the Database form instead, or in addition to the Main Form's code?

I have created a search form based on my SQL database to search for individual records based on 3 types of criteria. The form is up and running but I want to be able to add some more code. I have assigned Stored Procedure to each click event for each button. What I wantr to be able to do is after value is added to text box and button is clicked if there are no reults to display than a message box is displayed with adequate message detailing this. UPDATE: I've verified that the issue is with the statement where sh.is_available = 1, which doesn't make sense since this is a bit field.
Why would a VB/ASPX page not return results for a query which runs fine with other Oracle clients? (Same username) The following code should first output the query and then execute it outputting a single exclamation point per record. However, it outputs the query (as it should), but does not return any rows (nor error). If I copy the query to SQL Plus (or other editor) as the same user, the query returns results.

I have a basic question about using a database with Visual Basic.I'm using a OleDb connection. I have dragged and dropped editboxes from the DataDource view. This automatically places the table navigation- bar on the form. When I run it this works fine.However I want to be able to search within the table, with an SQL statement.How can I connect the results from the SQL query to the navigation bar,such that the editboxes automatically take the values of the record without having to assign every textbox manually?
