Asp.net - No Results From Oracle Query In VB ASPX?

Why would a VB/ASPX page not return results for a query which runs fine with other Oracle clients? (Same username) The following code should first output the query and then execute it outputting a single exclamation point per record. However, it outputs the query (as it should), but does not return any rows (nor error). If I copy the query to SQL Plus (or other editor) as the same user, the query returns results.
Why might my code not output any results?

I want to (SQL) select from a table in an Oracle database, and show the results of the query in the VB application, in a Excel like manner (rows, columns, selectable, etc.). Or in a SQL developer manner. How can I do that? Browsed through a lot of tutorials and howtos on the internet, did not get anywhere. I think (and correct me if I am wrong) that it's gotta be something with DataGridView. But I don't know how to create and populate a datatable with the result of as Select statement, how to create a dataset.
So hopefully this is a quick fix but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get my results from a OracleDataReader record set.Just trying to get all the users for a specific TNS into an array. I was able to do this easily before with ADODB, but thought I would try using ODP.net.Here is what I have so far and it definitely gets all the USERs for a given TNS. its when I get to the READ() part where the syntax is ??
how to take a query that returns a single row of data and load that data into textbox controls.I know about ExecuteScalar but it is only good for a single column of data from the query.
I have a Search web reference (from a Search Server 2010 express install) in a vb.net application that is utilizing the QueryService Class to search a production Sharepoint foundation 2010 site.At a previous point in time, we had created a proof of concept on an entirely test system that has since been turfed. From my recollection on this test system when documents were uploaded as a specific site content type (that inherits from document) and metadata was provided, we could search for specific metadata by making managed properties for each, and search results would be returned as documents (with the isdocument flag set to true). Viewing the document then became simple, as we could simply use the filename and path to display the stored file.Now we are developing a production system and we have encountered a new behavior, where these results now are returned as aspx results such as
[URL]
This of course makes it terribly difficult to locate and view the document, we can extract the Title which will then give us the name of the file with no extension, but that hardly helps, as the FileExtension data is aspx, not the documents file extension, so we don't have a full filename. We could display the page returned as a result, but would much prefer the document itself.
I've made a test document library, with just bare bones setup, (not using the site content type, or site columns) and uploaded some documents on the same site, and they are returned in the same fashion, so I don't believe the document library, or content type are the issue.
With a fairly limited understanding of both Sharepoint and Search Server, I don't know if this is a setup issue with the search service itself, with the site configuration, or with the querypacket I am sending. We also have a third party application (Knowledgelake) installed on the server that ties into sharepoint which could have changed configuration somewhere as well?
I don't think the query packet has changed since it was working in the proof of concept, other than the custom data column names. I will provide it here in case there is something glaringly obvious to an external reader.
I am using the OLEDB adapter (Oracle OLEDB) with Oracle 10.2.0.3.0. My code generates the SQL for the query, then when I execute it into an OLEDBDataReader, the HasRows is False. However, if I output the contents of the query string, copy, and paste into SQL+ (logged in as the same user from the same client machine), it returns 993 rows. What gives?? trying to write a dynamic sql query that fetches data from oracle 10g database. My Where criteria is giving me real problems but i guess it has to do with the oracle data format. The data column is a TIMESTAMP data type storing values like 25-JAN-09 07.06.01.000000000 AM. I have setup an OleDbConnection and my query works just fine but the problem I am facing is that I want the entire query not just a certain row or column. I also would like to place this entire query into a blank excel spread sheet.[code]
If this is in the wrong section, I have a program that queries a database and puts the info in a specific format in a txt file. Now my problem comes w/ how to format the date.
Should I format the date in the SQL query OR is there a way to take the result from the query and format sometime before it is writen to the txt file? I'm not exactly sure how to do either. Would I need a subquery to get the desired date format?

I'm trying to execute a SQL query and pull the results into a text file. However, I'm getting an error in the bolded part. I think probably the biggest help would be an explaination of what the code in bold is actually doing. I pulled this from a book but don't think I completely understand. To me it seems like its saying that for each row in table 'extract'. Extract it, and write it?? But it doesn't seem to work that way. I have a basic question about using a database with Visual Basic.I'm using a OleDb connection. I have dragged and dropped editboxes from the DataDource view. This automatically places the table navigation- bar on the form. When I run it this works fine.However I want to be able to search within the table, with an SQL statement.How can I connect the results from the SQL query to the navigation bar,such that the editboxes automatically take the values of the record without having to assign every textbox manually?
I need a clarification about using datagridview and query statement. i created a sql express database. In the project has been created a dataset with inside a table. In my form i used a datagridview and in automatic have been created BindingSource, TableAdapter, TableAdapterManager and BindingNavigator.
