Using Search Server 2010 Express Web Service Results Are Returning .aspx Pages Instead Of Documents?

I have a Search web reference (from a Search Server 2010 express install) in a vb.net application that is utilizing the QueryService Class to search a production Sharepoint foundation 2010 site.At a previous point in time, we had created a proof of concept on an entirely test system that has since been turfed. From my recollection on this test system when documents were uploaded as a specific site content type (that inherits from document) and metadata was provided, we could search for specific metadata by making managed properties for each, and search results would be returned as documents (with the isdocument flag set to true). Viewing the document then became simple, as we could simply use the filename and path to display the stored file.Now we are developing a production system and we have encountered a new behavior, where these results now are returned as aspx results such as

This of course makes it terribly difficult to locate and view the document, we can extract the Title which will then give us the name of the file with no extension, but that hardly helps, as the FileExtension data is aspx, not the documents file extension, so we don't have a full filename. We could display the page returned as a result, but would much prefer the document itself.
I've made a test document library, with just bare bones setup, (not using the site content type, or site columns) and uploaded some documents on the same site, and they are returned in the same fashion, so I don't believe the document library, or content type are the issue.
With a fairly limited understanding of both Sharepoint and Search Server, I don't know if this is a setup issue with the search service itself, with the site configuration, or with the querypacket I am sending. We also have a third party application (Knowledgelake) installed on the server that ties into sharepoint which could have changed configuration somewhere as well?
I don't think the query packet has changed since it was working in the proof of concept, other than the custom data column names. I will provide it here in case there is something glaringly obvious to an external reader.

My boss has given me an asp.net web application that was done by his former employee. Now my boss has no contact with that employee. He wants me to make some changes in that web application. I went through the application. There is no documentation present for that application . Its a huge application. It contains many directories. I think it was a team work. It has many asp pages, aspx pages, jsp pages, xml pages, css pages, etc... How to understand other person or team's website or web application that was written in asp or asp.net and vb or vb.net?

I have a search engine on my ASP.net 4.0 VB site that in which I need to link the search results with their individual pages. I understand that this can be done simply with a submit button after the search textbox but a submit button wouldn't fit next to the search bar on my page, plus it wouldn't look right.

I have a form on a .NET webserver using aspx pages with the vb code-behind pages. The form collects the entered data and then emails it, that part works fine.Right after it gets emailed, this code checks to see if the email was sent or not and then updates the landing page accordingly. I have heard of setting server specs to have HTML pages parsed as PHP pages by changing the .htaccess or httpd.conf files. Is there a similar solution to have HTML pages parsed as ASPX pages?
A website I am working on does not want their PageRank to lower since their HTML pages are already indexed and used on other websites but wants to use some dynamic features of aspx pages (like include the navigation file so that changes to the nav will only have to be done in that one file).

I've developed an application in VB.Net 2010, Express edition. It uses Word Library functionality to access several .docx and .dotx files.Everything works in the development environment. However, after deployment, my application can't find any of the Word document files. I've added them to the project and to the Resources list under the Project Properties tab.The path I'm using to locate the docs and dots is coded in these ways:[code]Both of these statements work in the development environment perfectly. I have a datagrid control with a list of names that it retrieves from a MySql database. I can search through them until i have one result. I want to be able to Display a groupbox control when the number of results is equal to 1. Also, in the groupbox i have a button that when clicked will delete this user from the server and their information from the mysql table called "employee". when the user is deleted i'll display a confirmation message in a messagebox, and reload the table with the updated list. so far the only two problems i have are showing the groupbox when the results are equal to 1 and deleting the user from the sql server based on the name of the search result

I want to search a sql server database from VB.Net and output the results in a Listview. I don't want to use code that involes queries in it, but the queries are to be used in the data set designer, i.e the query builder.Here's what I got so far.

I am trying to make a user account SQL database work with Visual Basic 2008 Express for login purposes, i.e. usernames & passwords. Plan is to host this server so people can login to use the the application and verify they have a valid account. I would like to host all the account information in SQL due to the possiblity of hundreds of users at any given time. I also need the ability to add data to the database for users registering for the first time. The SQL server will need to be able to access the SQL Server databases remote via WAN.

I am trying to re write a VB6 program using MS Access, many years ago, using VB 2010 express and SQL server 2008 R2 Express. I have a database with several tables, which I created using the designer. I am able to connect to the database and select data and display it in textboxes etc in vb code. What I have not been able to in code is to INSERT rows DELETE rows or UPDATE any data in the tables. I can do any of these operations using the Query Designer, but I want to do it in code. I can post some code if necessiary, but I thought it might just be some property that I had not set in the designer.

I am using one web project in the name of "AAA", it is working fine in the production. I am trying to add two new aspx pages in the existing website without affecting the existing AAA.dll file, so I planned to create a new web project inside the same solution in the name of "BBB". In AAA - I have one web.config, In BBB - web project I have one web.config. In the live I am using AAA's web.config. Here I am trying add the new aspx files and bbb.dll in the hosting place. i have many aspx pages in one folder (100 pages) and they will keep increasing. I have 1 vb.net file which has the code for these pages. Can i call that pageload event in vb.net file from all these pages? currently im using this code, but its not reading the pageload event.

We are using VB.NET and ASPx for our project. we would like to separate the aspx pages and put them on the IIS server (web server) on one m/c and the business logic and DAL layer on another IIS server (application server) on a different m/c .The database is on another m/c. Is such a configuration possible ? If so how can it be implemented?

I am using specific sessions calls in my *.aspx pages and i have 2 questions related to this:
1-Is there a difference between using this type of session declaration in your aspx age?
HttpContext.Current.Session.Item("Whatever") VS Session("Whatever")Would this give the same information for a specific user?
2-Is using Session really User Specific data? I know you can share information using cache but is there possibilities that we have 2 different users (different browsers) that would share information threw sessions. Keep in mind that i am using SQLStateServer for my sessions

I am trying to implement the webrequest get and post methods. I am accessing a secure site that requires login authentication and was told that instead of sending a login request all the time; login to the site and capture the cookie and use this to send it in the header to get results from the page. In other words let us use google for example.
Lets say google required u to login before searching for something. Now I login through my browser and leave the site logged in. Now I send a httwebrequest from my program that includes the cookie authentication details in the request header and get results for say ?param=sports. Now when I increment the page number like &page=3, I am still only getting page 1 results. Here is some code:

The program allows users to insert Documents along with a bunch of their attributes into the program. The documents are stored in a relational database. One of the required functionalities is allowing the user to look for such documents. The User normally search directly for the obvious attributes of the document, like a unique ID, or it's Title. The problem is that from the search parameters is not allways known which ones will the user fill. For example the user inserts the name and version of the deocument, another time the user enters part of the Title and the person that delivered the document, or might just enter the document number and nothing else. Some of the data might even be incomplete, like title, name of the person who created the document and so on. The idea from the person who designed the system (I'm only reimplementing it) was to allow easier searches for the user, and allowing the user to search for more parameters tod with the idea that "the more parameters, the more specific results", since the results are always group of documents instead of single documents.

Why would a VB/ASPX page not return results for a query which runs fine with other Oracle clients? (Same username) The following code should first output the query and then execute it outputting a single exclamation point per record. However, it outputs the query (as it should), but does not return any rows (nor error). If I copy the query to SQL Plus (or other editor) as the same user, the query returns results.
Why might my code not output any results?

I have a query using LINQ-to-SQL. It queries an underlying database table Rooms. It uses Where conditions to narrow down the results, namely:
Gender.Current Occupancy < Max Occupancy Available Flag is Checked I know this should return results but it keeps returning an empty set.Code is below

UPDATE: I've verified that the issue is with the statement where sh.is_available = 1, which doesn't make sense since this is a bit field.

We are noticing this occurs BOTH in javascript and in VB.net 2.0. So basically both in server side and client side code. Basically if you run this equation 975328 - 153279.43 you get the following answer 822048.57000000007. However, if you run 975328 - 153279.4, 975328 - 153279.433, or 975328 - 153279.5 everything is returned correctly. WHY the system calcuates the 975328 - 153279.43 with an answer with 11 decimal places? Not to mention adding the 7 in the 11th decimal place, thus making the equation answer incorrect.Of course I know I can trim, set the answer to appropiate decimal places, etc., etc.the above is proven by just entering the equation into the immidiate window, thus ellimnating varibables such as object types, etc., etc.

I have been having an issue with returning records from a SQLServer database where the date the record was created is between 2 user specified dates. When I populate the DataGridView with the results, they are incorrect and do not follow any recognisable pattern.
For example, if I specify the dates 05/05/2010 and 12/05/2010 I get the attached data in the DataGridView.

I am pulling a date value from my database:

Then comparing these date values to the current date:

But for some reason its always returning the Else condition - even though the values in the database should make the query true. I'm guessing for some reason its not pulling the results as a date?
