Is there a way to have multi-colored text in this textbox (This is what I'm after.)? I have searched but can't seem to find it. I have implemented the following Paint method successfully in my Inherited Class.If no, is there a similar textbox that will work?
Public Class DataGridColoredTextBoxColumn
Inherits DataGridTextBoxColumn
Public Sub New()
vb.net 2003 asp.net 1.1Web ApplicationI have a dynamic DataGrid with the alternating rowcolors and paging, with a textbox in each row. I need to know how to make the background color ofthe texboxes the same color as the row that they are in.
I wanted to have multiple color for text in single label controller e.g.
label1.Text = " $ 480.00 "
What I want is character $ in Red color and other digits or character after $ in color blue.$ 480.00 I cannot use separate labels for digits and $ due to limitation?
I have developed an applcation using vb.net, its a windows based or Desktop Application. In one of the Form i am displaying the new complaints in a DataGrid With Employee Names.
Now, Each employee has a prority set for him, so depending upon the priority I want to assign a different color to Datagrid row.
I'm having problems trying to change individual cells' colors in a datagrid. I saw a few hints which would make things easy, but unfortunately I'm working with Visual Studio 2003, so I don't have access to the newer attributes.
I'm faced with another issue I would like to have resolved. I have filled my dataset with records from a table and successfully displayed it in a DataGrid. Next i would like to change the background color of certain rows or records in the datagrid using values from a column. E.g assuming my first column stores numeric values, I would like to have records where value in column greater than 6 have it background changed to a different color.
I have a datagrid that will get built at runtime. So i don't now how many columns I may have.I know I can do a column count, and get a list of the names. So don't think that will be a problem.What I'm trying to do is change only the CELL color, not the row, or the column, based on the value of the cell.Below is something I started with, but it clearly doesn't work.
' For Each row As DataGridViewRow In Me.QDGV.Rows ' ' Get the READY value from each row as we loop ' strExt = CStr(row.Cells.Item(4).Value)
How can you color a single item in a windows datagrid (Windows datagrid 2.0 for Visual Studio 2005)? I tried the overrides paint function but it is very memory intensive for it hits the function each time you move from one cell to another.
Is there a way to locate a cell by back color? I have a datagrid, that will populate names, on some of the cells. Some of the cells will be empty.
I have it so if there is a name in the cell, the background color will change to blue. I also can look for a specific value, and locate the value that way, and then change the color the cell or whatever.
The problem is that I have 4 different status for a cell with the same name. So for example, "Joe" name will show up in the grid. That cell background will turn blue.
The next status is "Check-In". So I can return the value "Joe" from my database with a store procedure, and look for that value of "Joe" again, and change the color to red to show he is checked in. The other 2 status I have is In Session, Session over. The problem is what if there is more than 1 "Joe"?
I think the best way is using the datagrids CellPaintings. But I can't find any other value beside a value to locate a cell on that procedure. So I thought if there is a way I can find a cell by the e.value = "Joe" and cell.backcolor = color.blue, than I can avoid having problems with multiples names.
I would be open to any other ideas, or a better way of doing this. Oh, is there a way to use tags for a cell value? I thought that might be a way was well.
Im using a dataset to display data in a datagrid from a sql server DB. One of the colums I have in my datagrid is "Status" the table adapter sql statment selects certain items based on whether there open or closed e.g "where = Open ". I want to remove this row entirely and instead of displaying open or closed for status column, display the open/ closed results in colour on the datagrid. Im really not sure how to go about this whether i need to do it in the table adapter or some sort of property. I presume i need to write a sql statement and selct the identity of the row where x= open etc , is there a way of assigning a colour in sql statement so it displays on my vb form ?
I'm adding multi-threading facilities for the first time. I have a function that is wrapped to be run in a separated thread. This function retrieves data (text) from a combobox and it works for sure without multi-threading.
When I call it as multi-threaded, I get the following error when I try to retrieve the data from the cmobobox: Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'cmb1stBL' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
It looks like a restriction of thread-safety... I assume that the child thread cannot read from his parent, to make sure that he doesn't change his parent data. So how can I read the data from the combobox? Should I read the comoboxbox data before calling the child thread?
I have a need to build an app that will access about 10 websites and pass data to them, etc.I've read about something called multi-threading when searching Google. I've also seen people say that they use multiple browsers.Which route is better to use? I figure if you have to do some sort of multi-threading that you would access a single browser?

I have a question of VB event handler and color picker. Now I have a label, and I want when user click it, it pops up a color picker dialog and let user to change the background color of the label. Not sure how to implement this, can anyone give me a direction?
Alright inside of a combo box I have a list of colors and I want to change the background color of the combo box to the selected color...basically this... but im not sure what the problem is here anyone have some advice or is this not possible?
I want the background of my form to be the same color as the window frame color that the user selects, even if that changes. I selected System->WindowFrame as my background color, but it always remains a dark grey, regardless of what I have my window color set to. How else would I achieve what I want? I assumed I was doing it the correct way. Do I actually need code that gets the system window color and then apply it?
I have a array of pixels. And I would like to Quantize them.
For Example
FF00FF,00FFFF stuff like that, but most are custom colors and are not a standard 256 color palette. So I need code to convert a color to a 256 color. I dont have any idea on how to do this, but thats why I came here. I do not want to use System.Graphics.Image.Palette or anything like that as this project uses arrays for images. I would like to if at all possible be able to convert a R, G, B color to 8bit, 16bit, 256bit and possibly use the HSL or NeuQuant method or something close to that, or maybe even some other methods of doing it. I do need to be able to do this for a single pixel, but I will also need a method for a array of them.
Right Click drop down menu using ContextMenuStrip. The background color of an unselected menu item is set with "BackColor".The color of the text of a selected menu item is set with "ForeColor".How to set the background color of a selected menu item? Default appears as a dark grey and I would like to change it.
I am using .NET 1.1, so I don't have the access to listitem object. I would like to change the text color or the background color of certain items in a listbox. can it do it in .NET 1.1?
I am trying to write code to load all nown color names from color.xxxxxxx in a ComboBox, but can not get it right. I can not find the Color Enum member. What I had in mind was something like this:
