Using A Dataset To Fill Datagrid In Form - Assign A Color To The Forum "where =open/closed"?

Im using a dataset to display data in a datagrid from a sql server DB. One of the colums I have in my datagrid is "Status" the table adapter sql statment selects certain items based on whether there open or closed e.g "where = Open ". I want to remove this row entirely and instead of displaying open or closed for status column, display the open/ closed results in colour on the datagrid. Im really not sure how to go about this whether i need to do it in the table adapter or some sort of property. I presume i need to write a sql statement and selct the identity of the row where x= open etc , is there a way of assigning a colour in sql statement so it displays on my vb form ?

I have developed an applcation using vb.net, its a windows based or Desktop Application. In one of the Form i am displaying the new complaints in a DataGrid With Employee Names.
Now, Each employee has a prority set for him, so depending upon the priority I want to assign a different color to Datagrid row.

I need to know if a form2 is already open when a button1 on form1 is clicked. I found the following code which fails when I open form2 then close form2. When I click button1 on form1 nothing happens. Is there a way to reset form2 to nothing or is this just wrong?

I am working on VB.Net. I have a sub form with a datagridview, that is being loaded with the criteria taken from another form. Hence this form is called with parameters. Here is the code that calls the sub form.

Now, I need to refresh this sub form every -- minutes, depending on how the user wants it to be. For this I have given a NumericUpDown control to select the mins. All this works fine. But how do I refresh the dataset and the datagridview?

I want to have a DataGrid in a form Docked as Fill, and have it located below the ToolStrip.What I mean by Docked as Fill is I want to be able to resize the DataGrid along with the Window Form.When I select Dock as Bottom, the space between the DataGrid and ToolStrip changes as well.

I think I fried my brain. Something so easy and I can't figure it out. I have a windows form with a datagrid and a dataset and some textboxes.I have a button that populates the textboxes with the selected row from the datadrid. I have tried everything I can to get beyond this error which shows below as <<<<< error here. It is trying to fill a dataset from a data adapter. If I change the SELECT statement to just SELECT * FROM xTable I get the correct number of records in each table. But anytime I try with a more complex statement I get the error message shown below which indicates System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet. I've completely erased all data and entered a new set of test data so I know there is no problem with relationships. Each table has primary key which is foreign key in other table. I've created a datagrid and made it read only, I want to double click it and it will open a new form with all the data so I can edit it and press save.
I have a form called New client where you add the name address etc and press save.

I have on my form two datagridviews that correspond to the same table. They are both databound. They have been created automatically through dragging them from the datasources windows.One is datagridview and the other datagridview1. When ever I navigate through a datagrid the corresponding row on the other grid changes as well. I do not want this. Also I want to be able to fill and use each datagrid indepentent from each other. To fill a datagridview on load I use this code

i have a few questions about seting up a form.when you creat a new for open the dataset drag and drop the tables to form it creates a top menu bar with pages plus sign and x and save.now when you run the app you need to press the plus sign to add data in the database..is there a way to make it that you dont need to press the plus sign?

Simply enough, I closed a design window, and now I can't reopen it.Whenever I click on the form in the Solution Explorer, there is no option to show the design view, yet I know that there is one.When I go to the folder where the files are stored, there is a file there is supposedly the design of the form I closed, but when I open it, all that appears is another window of code.

This reader is done in the form load event and is the very first thing done so I don't understand why it's telling me there is an open DataReader. I am trying to assign a dataset to the TAG property of a textbox control in my application. The code seems to do the assignment without any error but I cant see the property TAG name or the assigned value using quickwatch etc. etc. The TAG property name does show in the design window.
Is this property useable in my version (academic 2002 version 7.0) or does the TAG and any assigned value it holds not show in quickwatch. I can only find 1 reference which seems to suggest the TAG property is not supported in early versions, but would prefer a definitive answer.

I have a table, the color of the whole row depends on one of the two columns. Table: | ID | Name | Date | Ext Date |
Where Date color depend on the value, <15 is green, <30 is yellow and >30 is red. While Ext Date depends on value, >-14 is red, >-30 is yellow, <-29 is green and without Ext Date value will follow Date value.
I tried to put Switch in IIf but returns no color at all.

Admin assigns the authority and get a new form to the new assign in with vb.net & access. I am not sure about this,I need a way to do the new form assigned? How?Actually, this project is the admin will assign the authority to a manager, and the manager will get the password to log in. Then, the manager once log in and will get a form to set the rooms who is going to use and date, etc, this is multi-manager to handle the room setting jobs.But, I think, I got stuck, I am not sure how to do the new form, HOW DO YOU ASSIGN THIS NEW FORM FOR EACH NEW MANAGER?????? What I am trying to do basically is open an access query in a datagrid view and then be able to make changes to the datagrid and then save it back to the database.When I try to save:

It says that update is not a member of the tableadapter... Why is that?
