This is my first attempt at writing a program that accesses a database from scratch, rather than simply modifying my company's existing programs. It's also my first time using VB.Net 2010, as our other programs are written in VB6 and VB.NET 2003. I have text file that is saved as comma delimited. There are 3 columns with x number of rows. I cannot seem to figure out how to create an array that will store all three columns with the variable intProductArray as the length of the array. I have a search form on that will be pulling search template queries from a table in the underlying (an Access db on a share). The search form has a calendar control for filtering by date range, a listbox containing the names of the search templates, a second listbox which lists the fields in the selected template, and then some controls which show/hide themselves depending on which field is selected so that the user can pick a field and enter it's unique criteria in the appropriate control for filtering. Below these controls is a DataGrid, which will obviously display the results.
The problem is how to dynamically "transform" this DataGrid to display the selected search template. These templates do not represent tables in the underlying; rather they represent preconstructed SQL queries (stored in a table) which are essentially SELECT queries with joins and no WHERE clause (so they are the results of multiple tables joined together by their keys).
To be honest, I'm having trouble even generating the LINQ queries to represent these template dynamically, but that's not as important, since I can manually translate the SQL queries into LINQ. This is definitely not the preferred method, as the whole point of putting these templates in a table, rather than code, was to allow for future additions without rebuilding/redistributing the application interface.

An integral part of the program that i'm working on is a DataGrid which I am filling from three different queries, based on the user's input. The Grid properties are coded with specific requirements for each of the queries. I have two simple (hopefully) problems.
1) There is no scroll bar on the grid and I can't find a property or event that will allow me to add the Vertical Scroll Bar. How do I do that.
2) The grids contain only four columns each. I want the user to be able to click on a cell and populate four string variables.
I have a scenario where-in I have a DataTable with certain columns "Col1, Col2, Col3". I want to copy just "Col2, Col3" into another DataTable which has a primary key "ID". What is the best way to copy them. There are 5000+ records and performance is a key factor.I tried with Select, DefaultView.RowsFilter but no success. I know one option is to loop through all records an copy data one by one in second DataTable. But wanted to know a better way.

How can I set up my WPF datagrid to sort on multiple columns similar to having two sortable columns, clicking on the header of the first column for a primary sort and then SHIFT clicking on the header of the second column for a secondary sort. I would like the multiple column sort to happen automatically when the user clicks on the header of the first column without having to SHIFT click on the second column header. Is there a way to do this entirely in the xaml? If not how can I do this in the code behind? Currently using VB.Net but a C# snippet is acceptable if you have one.

I am using DataGrid control in VB. I have created a DataTable at runtime and added 5 columns in this Datatable. I binded the data table with DataGrid control.
Width of DataGrid is 880. The default width of 5 columns of data table in DataGrid is 100. So for 5 columns width used = 500. So an empty space of 380 left at the right hand cornor of DataGrid. I want to fill this empty space with these 5 columns. I want to increase the width of columns so that it fully covered in DataGrid.
