I am using datagridview to show the data when the form load.Datagridview have a template checkbox column also where the user will select the class to attend.I want to loop the datagrid and find the selected row ro columns value when the user click the save button How i do this am using vb.net 2008?

So basically i need to make a loop that only lets the user click it ten times then gives the answer to them.i was gonna use a DO loop that looks like this so far.

and after that i'm kinda lost on what to do, i know that its needs to be if you click btnenter 10 times give the right answer and then your done.

I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

I am using Visual Basic.Net 2003 with an Access 2000 database.
An integral part of the program that i'm working on is a DataGrid which I am filling from three different queries, based on the user's input. The Grid properties are coded with specific requirements for each of the queries. I have two simple (hopefully) problems.
1) There is no scroll bar on the grid and I can't find a property or event that will allow me to add the Vertical Scroll Bar. How do I do that.
2) The grids contain only four columns each. I want the user to be able to click on a cell and populate four string variables.
May I know if its possible to save a picture file like .jpeg file in vb after the user chooses his picture? As i want the user to be able to save the picture that he chooses at run time. So that the next time he runs the app, the picture will still be there.the below is the code that i used to open the picture.

View 1 RepliesI am writing a simulator program that gets its I/O from external sources with results displayed on a form. I heve composed a form, with graphics that look great, but when I call a loop to actually start the simulation, all my labels on the form go transparent and the 'stop' button I have created does not function.I have tried placing this continuous loop in the form code box and in a separate module but to no avail. Even just putting a clock on the form does not work - it prints to screen initially, but only refreshes when I run the cursor over the stop button.This leads me to believe (remember I am a VB novice)that a form is full of Subs that only run once on form load.So where is the main body of code placed that will run continuously; from where I can check the button status and update the form?

I have a button on my form where I'm showing a ContextMenu when the user left clicks on it, I'm actually using MouseUp right now to show it.What I would like to have happen is the user click on the button, the button stays pressed while the ContextMenu shows, it returns to normal when the ContextMenu closes (Either a menu item was selected, the user hits the escape key or they click/tab to somewhere else). Also I'd like to position the ContextMenu in the lower left corner if the menu opens down or the top left corner if it opens up. So the left edge of the ContextMenu is flush with the left edge of the button.Moreso the button staying pressed until the ContextMenu is closed.
Edit: I'm also ok with this being it's own control inheriting the FW's Button that used the assigned ContextMenu as well.
I believe there wont be any diff if user clicks the button on the form and the click event is fired OR if we call the button click event / function in the code. Because in one my project, this does make diff. If I click the button on the form, the App works great but same button if I click it thru the form code, the whole process crashes. This happens in Vista / VB.net.

I click on the button and the first image in my image list goes into the picture box.
I click the button again and the second image in my image list replaces the first image in the picture box.

View 19 RepliesI was developing my own project in the university so what i am stack is to have save button which firstly validates what the user enters the form. for instance if the user skips the text fields, i wanted to restrict the user to fill all the form and when he completes, the save must be accomplished.
Here's the code i was trying to put but i was having problem saying the windows.forms.etc is unable to convert the save as Boolean and something like that.

I have to hidden buttons on my page that I can trigger using JavaScript (__dopostback...). I also have a list of object on my page and a dropdownlist giving the user the possibility to sort those objects on the page. My code checks the current value of the dropdownlist on Databind of the list and applies the chosen sort method to the list. The first button is triggered when the user has selected another sort method from the list.
The second button is triggered when the user adds a new item to the list. Sortmethod "sort2" should be set automatically in the dropdownlist if this happens. So when the second button has been clicked, I need to set the selected item of the dropdownlist dynamically so I can check the value of the selected value later in the DataBind method of the dropdownlist and know what sort method should be applied.
I don't succeed in changing the selected value dynamically. I'm using to controls: First is the objects.vb and the second is the ObjectContainer.vb. Objects.vb contains the two buttons, the dropdownlist and an instance of the objectcontainer. The objectcontainer contains the list with objects that needs to be sorted based on the value selected in the objects control.
