How can you apply this in datagridview with combobox as [employee code] as id and name as display name. display the position in the 2nd or 3rd column when the item was click or press enter from the combobox and use autocompletemode and autocompletesource in it.

I have combobox with autocompletemode property to SuggestAndAppend and then i have AutoCompleteSource property to ListItems
Now i must set RowFilter to combobox. After that I set RowFilter and then I set SelectedValue to valid value inside datasource I get InvalidArgument Exception
If i disable AutocompleteMode and AutoCompleteSource I haven't problem

I have a combo box that needs to be autoupdatable. I know you can set the AutoCompleteMode to SuggestAppend and have the combobox suggest as you type values that are in a combobox's items list. My question is this, Is there a way to have this same functionality happen with a databound combobox? I have a combobox that is bound to a Dataset and it will only suggest the first letter typed in the items list. If I type a different letter it jumps to another section in the list corresponding to the new letter typed.Does anyone know how I can get around this and have the SuggestAppend functionality be available in a databound combobox?

I have a combo box that i want a user to be able to start typing in a location and then have the valid values that match what the user is typing displayed below.The problem is i have about a 1000 locations that need to go into the AutoCompleteSource, is it possible to save all these locations into a text file and then have the text that is typed into the combo box compared aginst this text file?

I have problem with my combobox and suggest list poping up. Im taking data from datatable then i start to type and list is poping up if i select item form that list by moving arrows up and down and then press TAB than all is working ok but if I select item by clicking mouse then the item I choose doesn't show text but empty field.

I'm converting an old VB form to .NET, and there a few Buttons which each have a corresponding ComboBox hiding behind them. The previous behavior was that you'd click the Button, and that would trigger the ComboBox behind it, which would then drop down a selection list. I believe the idea was to have a static color and text label (which cannot be a selectable option in the drop-down list), with the functionality of a ComboBox.
Now, in VB.NET, clicking on the Button (which is directly over the ComboBox in the form) won't trigger the ComboBox dropdown anymore. However, if I make the ComboBox visible enough to click on, it will trigger the ComboBox.TextChanged event, and show the drop-down (they're set to the DropDownList style). I've set the event handler to handle both that event and the Button event. I've tried Button.MouseDown, Button.MouseClick, and Button.Click -- none of which have worked.
I did find the SplitButton control option suggested here, which would probably do the job, but I don't want to have to integrate a non-native control for just 3 buttons. I don't really want to mess with the control template, either

I am having a problem with data in a combobox not being refreshed (using VB.net 2005 by the way). Right now I have a windows application with several forms. I have a Template form that contains the cboActivity combobox. This combobox is filled with data from a SQL database. I also have an Activity form. This form allows me to enter new activity information and save it to the database. If I load up the Template form, click the cboActivity combobox, the Fill event is triggered and my combobox is filled with the activity data from the database. But if I leave this form open, go to the Template, add new activity information, and save it...when I go back to the Activity form the combobox has not been update to contain the newly added data. Is there a way I can force the Fill event to fire every time I click the combobox?

I'm using a comboboxcell in a datagridview with the combobox autocompletemode set to SuggestAppend.When I enter the cell and start typing, the autocomplete window pops up. When I click an item in the autocomplete list, the cell value is set and the cell exits edit mode. This has the same effect as selecting an item with up/down arrow keys from the autocomplete list and pressing the enter key.)
I want to copy that behaviour when an item is selected from the combobox dropdown list.E.g. if the user clicks the dropdown arrow button to open the dropdown list, then clicks an item in the list, the cell value should be set to that item, the dropdown should close, and the cell should exit edit mode.I've tried adding a handler to the combobox mouse click event, but the combobox only seems to receive that event if the main part of the combobox is clicked, but not if the mouse is clicked somewhere in the dropdown part. I don't think this matters if the combobox is used in a datagridview or by itself. how to capture a mouse click in the dropdown part of the combobox?

I have a datagridview on my windows form bound to field "STATUS" in SQL database with the default value of 0.What i want to acheive is that for each row in the datagridview, if user clicks the checkbox column only it should display a message " LOCK THE ROW?". i was thinking. is it possible to bring the rows that we click at datagridview and bring it into another form. which mean i click on a data that are on the datagridview, then it will pop up a form, inside the form, there will be have the data we have click on the datagridview, and we can edit and save at that form. I'm facing a strange problem in my dgv, I have the dgv bounded to a datatable, now I had to add a new column to let the user checks the rows that he/she want to export to a text file. I had the checkbox column, but when I run the application I can't check any row, I try to add in the click event of the dgv to manually check the column but it still not works...
