DateTime Represented By String Not Supported In Calendar
Mar 12, 2009
I think I might be going mad because I have loads of strings which are being converted into dates and one pesky little one wont go through.
Code:
"Feb 20 10:36"
and
"Dec 11 14:17"
Are acceptable and parse perfectly using Date.Parse() however...
Code:
"Sep 24 11:25"
Does not.
The error I get is:
The DateTime represented by the string is not supported in calendar System.Globalization.GregorianCalendar.

I have a application which gets info from an external feed where dates are in the format ddMMM. I'm trying to turn them into full date format so I was using DateTime.ParseExact. Which was correctly working out whether it should be 2011 or 2012 . But it is erroring when trying to parse 29FEB (which should be 29 Feb 2012. I can guess why its erroring. But if that correct behaviour is this documented and is there a better alternative? [code]

I am building an appointment booking system web application in asp.net in VB,
Im simply trying to check whether an appointment has been made on a date selected from the calendar control. I am using Linq for the bindings but the format from the calendar is mmddyyyy when i need ddmmyyyy, my appointments entered int sql table as are 20/09/2012 10:00:00
trying to use a linq from p in db.apps
where p.date=mycontrol.selecteddate
[Code]......
im not sure if the code DateTime.Parse,,,, is right, there are many appoinments on the selected date which i select from the calendar but i think the DateTime format is not translating into SQL correctly
The appointment datatype in SQL is datetime

I have a datetimepicker on my form. When I click the down arrow, it goes down correctly. When I select a date, it stays down. In order for it to roll up, I have to change my focus to a different area.Is there anyway to make it rollup when a day is clicked? It feels awkward the way it is now.

Error Message: "This server version is not supported. Only servers up to Microsoft SQL 2005 are supported VB.NET" I am using VB.NET 2008 and attempting to connect to SQL Server 2008 with XP as the operating system. I have service pack 1 installed in Visual Studio but this error message presists. The articles I have read on this error said to install sp1 as a solution but I have done that and the error persists. FYI, the error does not occur when I am using code to connect to SQL Server but when I attempt to connect using one of the designer wizards this error occure.

WPF: Display a bool value as Yes / NoI'm writing a WPF program in VB.Net 2010 (.NET 4.0) that uses data binding against a simple class that is an ObservableCollection of another simple class I've written. So far I have a DataGrid that shows the information and I can add and remove items as necessary, but I seem to be stumbling with a fairly basic concept:How do I display data in some way other than the default behaviours that the various DataGrid columns allow?I have a boolean called "reversed" in my original class, let's call it "x". I would like the DataGrid displaying the ObservableCollection of "x" to display "Yes" or "No" under the Reversed column instead of a checkbox that is checked or unchecked (DataGridCheckBoxColumn).

I have a question about a Select Case, and how to go about writting it.In my pages, I call to a SQL Database, that returns values from a column. The columns present two types of data, numeric and varchar
e.g 2N or .10 (they present nickles) I would like my onscreen to display images, instead of that value (once they have been found). Where 2N = imageNickle + imageNickle, as well as .10 = imageNickle + imageNickle (or display 2 of the images in place, rather) I would like to just focus on the (varchar) at this point. Is their an easier way to write a select statement than say:

I am getting this datetime format in an xml file:
2012-06-14T11:15:41.587-07:00
2012-06-14T10:49:32.397-07:00
2012-06-11T11:10:49.2-07:00
I believe I understand some of it, please correct me if I am wrong:
2012-06-14 = date
T = time identifier
10:49:32.397 = hour min second milliseconds
-07:00 = I have no idea
I need to convert this to something I can sort on for my datagrid view.
When I try something like this:
Console.WriteLine(String.Format("{0:d/M/yyyy HH:mm:ss}", "2012-06-14T10:49:32.397-07:00"))
I'm getting the original string back out with no conversion.

I have the following sql select statement in my code:
Code:
sql = "SELECT * "
sql &= "FROM Trn_DC_All "
sql &= " WHERE (Content LIKE '% PAGE%') AND Convert(datetime,Substring(Right(Trn_DC_All.Content,21),2,10),7) >= " &
[code]....
Basically, for the substring in the select satement,the datatype is string. By the way, the strFromDate and strToDate datatype are string also.Actually I would like to select the data from database whereby the Substring(Right(Trn_DC_All.Content,21),2,10) is larger than strFromDate but smaller than strToDate.The dataformat in the database is "Feb 01,09" and the strFromDate,strToDate format is "20/07/2009".What should I change in my select statement so that it can retrieve the data?

How do I correct or make sure that my formats are correct. Or what code do I need to change to make sure that it is in the correct format. The SQL table field is in DateTime format.

I have a datareader reading Date feild from the CSV file as string. it retreives the first record as "03/06/2009" successfully. My system datetime format is dd/MM/yyyy when I insert these values to an access table it put 06/03/2009 i.e makes it 6th March 2009 instead of 3rd June 2009 and so on for the values upto 12th June....after that it starts treating the date monthly correctly..
