I want to delete some temporary log files in remote system without using UNC share path. If I used UNC share path in my application, the application execution was failed. In order to execute successfully, i want to map remote system in my machine and then application was executed successfully by using UNC share path. So, i dont like to use UNC share path in my application.

Everything is working absolutely fine in my PC. But when I sent the exe to my friend's PC. Then the antivirus in her PC detected it as a trojan!

I created a program which was deleting a particular directory for me. The program was compiled and working. Today I run the same program...did not do any system updates and now it won't delete my specified directory. I ran tests to make sure the directory is there when testing...I keep getting access/permission errors.
I rebooted system, ran my application...still gave me error. I turned off Windows Defender...still got error. If I manually delete the directory...no problem.
Is there a way to get system permission to delete the directory? I am being given an 'access denied' error...I do not have permission. I tried running my application as administrator...no good. - VB 2008 Express - VISTA OS

I'm not really sure where to begin for this. I'd like to scan a specified server directory for all files that it contains in the directory. (I will then compare the sizes to files already existing on the user's machine, but that I've got covered.)
If there's any way I could get around using FTP, I'd be very grateful, as this won't be entirely secure.
I did some exploring of the WebClient and WebRequest classes, but failed to conceive of a way to do this.
I have a file uploading and viewing page in ASP.Net 1.1 using VB. Now the page will be visible in intranet as well internet. Here in my case the intranet and internet servers are different. I'm looking to write a custom program in VB.NET / C++ / C# that would allow me to monitor a system's vitals over a Remote Desktop Connection. I'm only looking for tips on how to implement a connection like this in code (eg. is it just a simple object or call to a WScript function? or is it much more sophisticated?). As to the specifics of operation after making the connection, I have that figured out based on another program which shares some similar features. This doesn't have to go through an RDP connection, I'm definitely looking for better ways. Reason I mention RDP is because I currently do this manually over an RDP connection, but I don't wanna have to constantly open the window.

View 4 RepliesI'm coding this neat little project that's kind of a hack into the SanDisk U3 Cruzer's ability to have both a CDFS and FAT32 File System. This is helpful because the program is burned to the CDFS (It's basically slip streamed as an .ISO in place of the original U3 .ISO), and the settings files (which I've developed as text files) are placed on the root of the flash drive. The program itself is VERY simple actually, except I'm having a slight issue that's really driving me insane:
The drive path of the Flash Drive won't be the same from computer to computer. I.E... The files are "UAI.txt" and "UInfo.txt". The root of the drive on my comp is "I:", but on my laptop is "F:". So if I program the path from my computer as the absolute path, an exception is thrown when the path changes on another computer. I cannot have this happen. It is probably THE MOST crucial element to this program. How can you save and read info if you can't find the files? =P
So I've gone through so many threads and forums trying to find a batch of code to allow me to make the path relative. I've found the following code (modified, of course). It works PERFECT in Debug, but throws an exception once packaged to the CDFS partition:

I am working on a little project for my phone creating some sort of remote to turn up/down my system volume via wifi. The phone will send data to a text field on the website lets say such as "vol up" and the vb app sitting on the computer will be constantly reading this text field for key words like "vol up", "vol down". when it see's a recognized command it reacts by turning the volume up and so on. And one more thing: Is it possible to have a vb app that uses http? E.g., sits on port 80 itself and can be accessed via local ip.
