Determine Current Username And Hardrive Letter On Visual Basic?

Ok, basically, I need to know what the current hard drive letter that the current user is using, along with the user's name, followed by Music. When using the command prompt, we can use a simple code that is just %currentuser%Music but, I guess Visual Basic is a bit more complicated. Haha.
If you're curious why I need this, it is because I am making a program for my company to help backup our music and documents from their computers before we get new computers.
When using the code above in the command prompt in Windows, you would get something like: C:UsersRobertMusic, but this does not work for Visual Basic 2008.
My current operating system is Windows 7. I can supply more information if needed.

at the Moment in my code I have the words("C:PrivateWords"). and that is where the Username & Password is Stored/kept, But is there a way to store the Username & Password into the Programe. ect... in a form that only the owner of the programe can see. And what would you use on that form ie: listbox, textBox multiline, TableLayout Panel, that if it is possible to create a Form.

Sweet candy store currently has a special offering of heart shaped candy. It comes in two sizes: small and large. The company sells the large one for $29.50 and the small for $16.25.Design an application to calculate how much a costumer owes. When the user clicks the "Calculate" button, the program gets the number of large and small chocolate hearts ordered from the textboxes, calculates and displays the extended price for each type of the chocolate in a label. The program also calculates the weight of the chocolate to determine the shipping cost, displays the total weight, the shipping cost and the final total due. The large chocolate weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces, and the small one weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces. Shipping cost is 35 cents per pound and 3 cents for each additional ounce. Display all dollar amounts except the final total due with 2 decimal places. Display the FINAL TOTAL DUE with a leading dollar sign and 2 decimal places. Be sure to also include a CLEAR button that will remove all inputs/outputs from the form, and an EXIT button. Define the CALCULATE button as the accept button and the EXIT button as the cancel button.

i realise that currently there is not built-in class for the checking of the current user folder in visual basic .net. anyone can advised the workaround for this. E.g. if user123 login to the machine, the code will return "c:useruser123"

I have been struggling with my programming class from day one. I still can't seem to grasp the complete logic on how to write code. Anyhow, I have an assignment due that I am stuck on. Here is the assignment:
In this exercise, you code an application that displays a letter grade based on the average of three test scores. Open the Grade Solution (Grade Solution.sln) file, which is contained in the ClearlyVB Chapl8Grade Solution folder. Code the application,using a function to determine and return the letter grade. If the average is at least 90, the grade is A. If the average is at least 80 but less than 90, the grade is B.If the average is at least 70 but less than 80, the grade is C. In a while loop, I am writing a progressively increasing integer value (between 0 and 100) to the Value attribute of a ProgressBar control, when it disappears from the window in which it resides. I have verified at the time that it disappears that the Min is 0, Max is 100, and Value is a valid integer in range.

Does anybody know which version of Visual Studio 2010 contains the full set of Visual Basic SharePoint Templates? I am about to embark on a project to create Visual Web Parts to be used in a SharePoint report.
At the moment I am using Visual Studio 2008 and even though the WSPBuilder is installed none of the relevant SharePoint templates are present.Having searched SO and the web, most advise to install the templates via the Visual Studio command prompt: devenv /installvstemplates
Alas the Visual Studio command prompt is also missing from my VS2008 installation.So, the question remains: which version of VS2010 contains what I need for pain-free SharePoint development? There is a rather large price different between VS2010 Professional and VS2010 Premium, so can anyone tell me if the cheaper version (VS2010 Professional) contains all the Sharepoint templates?

How do I disable the background compiler for Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2008?
For my sins, I have to work on a large VB.NET project and it often locks up for 20 seconds at a time whilst doing the very helpful background compilation

I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.

when the user clicks on the add button another form launches, which enables the user to add student info such as name, address, course, start date and end date, this information is then written to class when the ok button on that form is clicked, and then displays the data on the initial form in data grid. the user can add multiple entries and they are all displayed on the intial form and a the data grid is populatedwhen any of the rows in the displayed grid is selected, and the update button is clicked then the same form launches as the previous one and but this time its in the update mode and pre populates the form with the inital values.

I am very new to Visual Studio Application Development. I'm mostly a DB guy. I used Visual Studio as a Report Designer, not much of an .Net guy though I can understand it. I am now asked to create a .net application and I'm trying to create a "Hello World" starter app. I opened my Visual Studio, click File-New Project and all I see is Business Intelligence Projects and Other Project Types. My step-by-step guide says choose Visual Basic, Windows Forms Application. But I can't see it as an option.

I recently loaded my copy of MS Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, with Visual Basic, on to my new laptop, one with a Windows 7 operating system. This version of Visual Studio had been on my other laptop, a Windows Vista machine.
