I would like to know how to create/add a folder when installing the application using the Setup and Deployment in VB.net.I have tried [TARGETDIR]\[USERNAME], but the target folder name that gets created seems its adding the Domain name\Username, and this is where it stops where it only created the folder with the Domain Name.

i have create 2 form , 1 database 1 textbox and 1 button reset in form 1 = "fill current username" = textbox1, button = reset.3 text and 1 button on form 2...new username = textbox 3,new password = textbox4,confirmpass = textbox5 and 1 button "sign up"..i just wondering, in button sign up can i use insert statment or i need other code.so when i wont reset current password and username, i just to type current name and click reset button,after reset automaticly i must to create new username and password again in form2..

View 2 RepliesOk, basically, I need to know what the current hard drive letter that the current user is using, along with the user's name, followed by Music. When using the command prompt, we can use a simple code that is just %currentuser%Music but, I guess Visual Basic is a bit more complicated. Haha.
If you're curious why I need this, it is because I am making a program for my company to help backup our music and documents from their computers before we get new computers.
When using the code above in the command prompt in Windows, you would get something like: C:UsersRobertMusic, but this does not work for Visual Basic 2008.
My current operating system is Windows 7. I can supply more information if needed.
I have a program load the saved folder (from last use) into a textbox, now, user click browse button, it launch the folder browse dialog, I can use selectedpath to set selected folder, but most of time, the folder is deep in the c:, so, the folder browser dialog window does not show it, user has to scroll down to find it.is there a way to automatically show the selected folder in the view?

Im using Visual Studio 2008 This is my first program I renamed the program for the forum. If I remove the paths and execute my .exe from the AppDatalocal folder where the settings.ini file is it works fine, but I don't want have to run the program from there. I tried using %Username% for relative paths, but the computer can't follow the path. Do i have to write code to get the current username or how do programmers do this? Here's part of the program

I have a small application that creates users in the AD. It adds the users fine, and creates them a home directory. My problem is with granting the user permission to the home directory and is two foldFirstly the code detailed below adds the user to the folder, but because the account is newly created it displays as the SID rather than the name, not such a big deal, but sometimes the code fails as the replication has not caught up and the user isnt found. I beleive the answer here is to use the SID rather than the users name to add permissions, however I am not sure how to retrieve and store this when the account is created using directory services. Secondly and more frustrating is that once the user is added to the folder ACL their permissions are all blank.

I would like to put some (image, folder etc ) in resources. However I am not sure how to do this.
I have put the .txt file, .iso image in resources (from my project) but unable to add blank folder.
This folder is referring to "sc1" folder in my codes.
