I make a two vb project with a same framework 4.0 in one solution then I call the form of project 1 from project 2 then it is worked! But the problem is if I changed the framework of project 1 to framework 2.0 and the project 2 is still framework 4.0 . . . there's error occurred.

Right now I have created two separate entity models - one for each database - but this is causing issues in my code b/c I have to do a Using nameofcontext / End Using and when I try to then use some of the results from the first section of the code in a second Using nameofcontext / End Using it doesn't like it - b/c I've closed the connection to the first database!
View 1 RepliesI've developed a couple of different stand-alone projects, myRibbonRTF and myRibbonCalendar and have them functioning well. I want to tie these together with other projects in a single solution called myMain. When I add these projects to the solution, their forms are not accessible in myMain (e.g. myRibbonRTF.frmMain.Show()). I've searched high and low for the last week trying to solve this and the only nearby solution is to turn the other projects into .dlls and access them in myMain that way.

Say I have a code with 3 methods that do some pretty intensive work. Would executing these methods on 3 seperate threads be faster then executing them one after the other on a single core cpu? And what if it's a dual core or HT?

The query will pull all the email address that are not null. What I need to know is how to take the result of that query and make it look like this:

I use SqlParameters when executing database statements. I know that I can replace a single quote with two single quotes... but in the past SqlParameters took care of this for me. View 9 RepliesI am trying to update a row or a single cell in ms access through vb.net. But when i update the text box named NRIC, say for example i want to update "s4522147B" to "tr4521856C" and mean while leaving the other fields the same.
But the thing is when i make the changes in nric.text (textbox), the dataset actually updates the whole column in the table instead of the selected textbox.

I have a solution that I wish to upgrade from Vb.net framework 1.1 to framework 4.0. The solution consists of a number of projects, all but one of which compile to dll's. The master project compiles to a executable which provides a menuing system which dynamically loads the dll's and connects to entry points.
The projects contain normal classes, numbers of forms and also controls, which are either usercontrols or are inherited extensions of standard windows controls.There are a number of third party components (eg reporting and grid controls from Component One, Ribbon control from DevExpress etc).

Actually whenever i try to run some old specific software having .net 3.5 framework on my PC they show they needs .net framwork 1.1 . How, I added to it a WPF project, but wrote it in C#. Actually, every time I make a modification in the WPF C# project, I need to (re)build the C#WPF project. Is there a option to make it work like other (VB.NET) projects (accept and "see" the changes without rebuilding the C# project)?
An example:When I reference project "R.VB" in project "M.VB", I add a method "DoTest" in the "R.VB" and use that method in "M.VB" without compile errors.
If I add "DoTest" in the C# WPF Control and try to use it in "M.VB" project, I recieve a compile error "DoTest" is not a member od "R.C#Class".
I have 2 projects (P1 and P2) in a VB2008 solution, with each project compiled to a separate EXE.P2.exe is started via a button on P1 and while P2 runs, certain aspects of P1 are disabled. When P2 closes, P1 needs to reactivate those disabled aspects.Question: How do I communicate with P1 from P2, seeing that they are 2 separate EXE files, even though part of the same solution?

It gives ne this error -"This project (xxx.sln) cannot be opened from source control because it was created by a version of Microsoft Visual Studio that is incompatible with this one.If this is the case, you may be able to open it from source control using that version of Microsoft Visual Studio, and then use Microsoft Visual Studio to open the local copy."
I dont have a local copy cause i deleted it. Reason being i wanted to get eveything new from the server. How can i open this project now?
I've written a bare-bones ap in Visual Studio 2010, Express version. It does what I need and several others are using it successfully. I'd like to add features to it, but I don't want to foreclose the ability to make corrections to the present version.
How do I make a fork in the application for this purpose? Google has been no help in this case, and I've tried several incarnations of copy and change names etc etc.

If you find you're always getting null from GetDataObject, try adding [STAThread] before your static void Main().So, me, if I don't find Main()... I can't follow that recommendation in VB.NET...
