Direct Sound Code Runtime Exception : FileLoadException Was Unhandled?
Jan 8, 2012
I am using visual studio/visual basic 2010 express, installed Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010),
added reference in my project by add reference>Browse>C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETDirectX for Managed Code1.0.2902.0Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound.dll(5.4.0.2904)
An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in STUB_CREATOR.exe Additional information: Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A0036 (CTL_E_BADFILEMODE)
This is the line that creates the error
Dim f As New Scripting.FileSystemObject starter = f.OpenTextFile(stub_path.Text + "" + cpp_file, Scripting.IOMode.ForWriting)
I have just previously opened the file for writing. but however i have closed the textstream with which i was writing into the file.
Any thoughts on what might cause a thread error like this?Error:InvalidOperationException was unhandledCross-thread operation not valid: Control 'Form1' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
Relavent Code: Private Sub SerialPort_DataReceived(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.IO.Ports.SerialDataReceivedEventArgs) Handles SerialPort1.DataReceived
what's wrong with this code? I keep getting error that says "An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll"
i develop the following code in vs2005, now i just using this module in my new project @ vs 2008..But this error was araised. I cant able to fix this problem...
Private Sub DataAccess() Dim errHandle As New ErrorHandler Dim lobjCommon As New eCopsCommonFunctions
I am trying to use direct sound to play a wav file, so I may animate a picture box while the wav file is playing. I have made a device object and a secondary buffer object and when I run the program I get an error message(see attached image), but after I click continue, the wav file plays and it plays every time I click the play wav button. I am using a test project to work out the bugs before I implement the direct sound in my other project. Below is the the code I am using. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? The code needs a form named form1, and a button named xPlayButton.
i am using directx in my form but my program cant load managed direct(i instal Microsoft SDK V 9.29.1962.0) AND SHOW THIS ERROR: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.Mixed mode assembly is built against version V1.1.4322" of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information.
With a steady tone feeding my audio input jack, the VU meters jump and bounce about 30%. I can also see the problem in the byte array of the capture buffer. I am running 8 bit mono so there isn't a chance that I'm getting a byte swap in a 16 bit word. My on board sound card is "Realtek HD Audio Input", direct sound 1.0.2902.0 and XP. Here is the real kick in the head, if I run anything that captures sound using the winmm library or if I use the winmm library in my application along with direct sound, the meters become stable. No errors are reported. Although I have written this in vb.net, I download another persons application that was written in C++ that uses direct sound with the same bouncing meters. I used the VU meters in Audacity to look at my audio levels and they are stable.
I've got a code sample below that will compile, but not run. Start it in the debugger by clicking the "step into" button on the toolbar, and an exception pops up before it reaches the first line of user code:
"Could not load type 'TestPrivileges.Win32Module+TOKEN_PRIVILEGES' from assembly 'TestPrivileges, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'."
Comment out either the 'Dim ... TOKEN_PRIVILEGES' line in the module or the 'Public Shared ... TOKEN_PRIVILEGES' at the end of the class, and the problem will stop occurring.Visual Studio 2008 as well as 2010 does it.
Module Module1 Sub Main() Dim newState As Win32Module.TOKEN_PRIVILEGES = New Win32Module.TOKEN_PRIVILEGES MsgBox("Here I am")
I was scripting a very basic process manager, with a ListView component, and it was working fine for many days, up until now. Here is the code for getting processes:

I got an out of memory exception in a photo editor thingy i was making in vb.net. The bitmap image is constantly changing, and I always Dispose() of it after it has been sent off to the other bitmap. Is it being stored in a temp folder and using up all my space on the computer, or what? It always bugs after about 8 bitmaps have been drawn.

I was doing my project and came across an error (The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request) regarding this

I've been using it for three days, and tried to make my own application. Everything was going okay, it ran fine in the debugger and everything worked, so I assumed there would be no problems. But then when I went to run it from the exe in the folder, it shows me this:

I copied what I think to be the most important part of it. I've been searching around, and it says to do something with the main method, but I have no idea what that means.
