Disable Sleep Button On Keyboard?

To start off with, I will say that I have tried ENDLESS attempts to surpress/capture/stop the actual sleep keystroke.
The code cannot require administrator privilege's. .
I tried:
Private Overrides Sub ProcessCmdKey, and Return true when the sleep key is pressed - did not disable sleep key LowLevelKeyboard - One that can disable the windows logo key - did not disable sleep key And many other keyhandling events, etc.
The code cannot create registry keys because that requires admin privilege's.

I don't have any idea if it is possible and how can I code it.I have created an application that needs to run on a non-administrator account on windows 7. It won't run if the PC goes sleep/ locked/ hybernate/ on-screensaver. So, I want to disable them programmatically using vb.net 2010. Can any one help me?
By the way, I already tried to edit the power settings of the PC so it will never sleep/ hybernate, etc. But unfortunately, it keeps on sleeping after few hours.

I am looking to create a VB.NET application. when the application is opened it will disable the keyboard and mouse so if you hit any keys it does nothing and you can not move the mouse. (even if currently selected window is not that of application).
MUST WORK ON WINDOWS 7!

I am kind of amazed that there is no answer to this anywhere and I mean anywhere. I am looking for a way to disable the keyboard (actually all input) on a computer. There are several threads about it but no one has ever posted any serious, working code. I know someone is going to inevitably ask "why would you want to do that"? Actually why I want to do it is immaterial but if you must know... I am playing with a "USB Keylock". When this USB Keylock is not present in the computer I want to disable the keyboard. When it is present I want to enable the keyboard.

I have this little application that runs a SQL query works great, now I want to have a Start Button run the and display results then System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(300 * 1000) for 5 min then run again and display results and loop till I buttonstop_click. unsure if the sleep is the best method.

Currently I'm using System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(5000) to let my app pause/sleep for some time. This works great but I can't open my app anymore when it's sleeping and it uses about 25% of my CPU. I guess there must be a better way to do this. I also tried using a timer but that didn't work out to well for me..

How can I disable the windows button on the keyboard while my application is focused?
I'm having an endless problem with users accidentally pressing the windows key on the keyboard which causes the application to lose focus. They are capturing data, so when they finally realize that while they were typing nothing happened. They have to find the place where they lost focus and redo everything from there. This is very time consuming and as we are paying our data capturers by the hour this turns out to be an expensive flaw in the application.

i really dont get it. i want to put keyboard shortcuts on the button i have other than clicking this buttons. but the problem is i dont know how. i tried putting an ampersand (&) sign before the text of the buttons and it work, but the ampersand sign also displays. heres the original code:

i just got the code to undo multiple times.. nice stuff.
this code works with a undo button.. i'm using a textbox and i want to be able to press CTRL + Z, to undo by using the undo button's command.. do u think it will interfere with the preset windows keyboard shortcuts for textboxes where it will only undo one time?just a squirrel looking for my nut...

I am making this little tool for this online game i play (league of legends some of you might know it) Basically I made a small program which consists of 4 buttons and when you click button it starts timer and beeps once it reaches 0. Thats fine. Problem is I have to go out of game to click the button to start the countdown.My question is. While the program is running in background is there a way to press the button by assigning specific key on keyboard ? for example if I press F5 it will start the Bluebtn when i press F6 it will start Redbtn while I am in game.

I was making a program where it takes text from a textbox on one form, and places into a textbox on another form. If the first text I am taking says "test" Then the buttons code would be:
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox1.Text
This works, however, if there were two textboxes in the first form, and I wanted this:
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox1.Text
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox2.Text
- this would not work because one of them will override. I wanted to know how I could send a key into the form just once. I have tried this:
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox1.Text & ("{ENTER}")
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox2.Text

I want that, whoever click button first from these six users, the button on other 5 user's PC must be disable till the user finishes adding data.. then it must be enabled...
