i just got the code to undo multiple times.. nice stuff.
this code works with a undo button.. i'm using a textbox and i want to be able to press CTRL + Z, to undo by using the undo button's command.. do u think it will interfere with the preset windows keyboard shortcuts for textboxes where it will only undo one time?just a squirrel looking for my nut...
I was making a program where it takes text from a textbox on one form, and places into a textbox on another form. If the first text I am taking says "test" Then the buttons code would be:
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox1.Text
This works, however, if there were two textboxes in the first form, and I wanted this:
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox1.Text
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox2.Text
- this would not work because one of them will override. I wanted to know how I could send a key into the form just once. I have tried this:
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox1.Text & ("{ENTER}")
Form2.TextBox1.Text = Me.TextBox2.Text
i have a tool strip with standard items inserted. The items for Cut, Copy and Paste have their Keyboard Shortcut Properties set to the appropriate shortcut combination.I have this code in the MDI's toolstrip for each items click event:vb If TypeOf Me.ActiveControl Is TextBox Then DirectCast(Me.ActiveControl, TextBox).Cut() nd also for copy and paste.

An excel addin was used for a report data from database employing flat files. This addin uses activeX controls to acheive the above functionality. However it was later identified that when associated with digital signature to make it run under high security settings the whole addin crashed.
However the Point of concern now is'A new dll has been developed that encapsulates all the functions of the existing addin.' The addin was registered and as it was used, it created multiple instances of excel objects vigorously. However it was identified that this was due to a portion of the code that caused a command bar to the inserted as shown below Set cbar = CommandBars.Name("My data extracts")
Can an alternative code snippet be given which would insert a CommandBar?
I am trying to write a program using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition that will automaticlay generate multiple Command Buttons that have different Texts and perform different commands.For example I want to generate Button_1 and Button_2 where Button_1 when clicked enters the value "1" into a textbox and Button_2 enters the value "2" into the same textbox.I know this can be simple done by using the designer and wirting the code in the Button_1_Click, but what I want to eventually achieve is for various buttons to be generated across different Tabs in a TabControl.So far I can create a button on a windows form using code, but the button has no purpose so command is assigned to it. I am very new to programming In Visual Basic 2005, and programming in general. I have been working on a snake game for my programming class. I have working version of the game that uses four buttons (up,down,left,right) to control the snake. What I want to do is make it so you can control the snake with the arrow keys on the keyboard instead of having to click the buttons.

The idea here is that I need to register when scroll up is used, and then perform a keyboard command. So basically I would like to Copy with scrollUp for example, but this need to work outside the progam/form.

View 2 RepliesTo start off with, I will say that I have tried ENDLESS attempts to surpress/capture/stop the actual sleep keystroke.
The code cannot require administrator privilege's. .
I tried:
Private Overrides Sub ProcessCmdKey, and Return true when the sleep key is pressed - did not disable sleep key LowLevelKeyboard - One that can disable the windows logo key - did not disable sleep key And many other keyhandling events, etc.
The code cannot create registry keys because that requires admin privilege's.
I'm not that well at explaining but this is what i want to do
When the Num1 key is pressed, it click button1
When the form is running num1(keyboard) will press button1(form)
I would like to recreate the behaviour of a button or command button on an user control. I need to layout a group of this user control on a form so user can select only one at a time. When users click on one of this user controls a selection frame is drawn to indicate that it has been selected. The problem I have is clearing the selection frame when other control is clicked on. How do buttons or command buttons do this? If you layout a group of buttons only one is highlighted. I have tried using different events like LostFocus and Leave and nothing seems to work.

I am making this little tool for this online game i play (league of legends some of you might know it) Basically I made a small program which consists of 4 buttons and when you click button it starts timer and beeps once it reaches 0. Thats fine. Problem is I have to go out of game to click the button to start the countdown.My question is. While the program is running in background is there a way to press the button by assigning specific key on keyboard ? for example if I press F5 it will start the Bluebtn when i press F6 it will start Redbtn while I am in game.
