I am trapping key strokes at the form level but if a button has the focus and the ENTER key is pressed I cannot trap the enter because the button consumes it as a button click event. I am also unable to trap the enter key in any of the button's key events.
I am interfacing with magtripe swipe and barcode readers that send their information as keystrokes with a CRLF at the end. I have a work around by chaning the focus to a textbox anytime keystrokes are detected but I am hoping for better control.
Is there a way to disable the buttons ability to do this?

I have tried creating a shuffling playlist but i cant get it to stop after one file is played (it just goes on shuffeling to another file, and i really do not want a playlist). When i enter this in visual basic ensure the font is the same as that in the character map (wasn't sure if that made a difference to the unicode) my button displays the eta sign instead. View 2 RepliesI have a form that you can type in a four digit code and press enter and will will run some code on a database. The problem occurs when a user click their 4 digit ID number and then click enter, the next user then comes up, types their 4 digit ID on the number pad and when they press enter it runs the code twice (this is due to the fact that the enter button has focus, meaning i intercept the enter, run my code, then the button runs that same code)

The code cannot require administrator privilege's. .
I tried:
Private Overrides Sub ProcessCmdKey, and Return true when the sleep key is pressed - did not disable sleep key LowLevelKeyboard - One that can disable the windows logo key - did not disable sleep key And many other keyhandling events, etc.
The code cannot create registry keys because that requires admin privilege's.
I'm not that well at explaining but this is what i want to do
