in SP i use this: SELECT @@rowcount
to get the rows but i dont know how to display it to a label
I don't understand why my Label and Text controls are aligned when placed on a winform in design mode, but when I run the application the Label and text controls are uneven and spreaded apart. I using VB .Net 2008.
I tried adjusting the TextAlign property on the label control but the problem still exist.

I want to get the row count of my datagridview. I currently use this code below. But the RowCount value is &H7. I have 7 rows displayed in the datagridview. The code below seems to work, but I don't understand what &H7 means. Does it have something to do with Hexadecimals?

I have a problem with a datagridview control, when first loaded with existing data it shows the correct rowcount figure.However, I have a function that when invoked triggers an oledbcommand to clear those records from the database (access) and load new ones from a file (excel/text).The oledbcomands work fine, and the gridview refreshes with the new data fine. However, the rowcount after this refresh is always 0, even with records. What I am doing is creating a module for my app that allows the user to specify the column title and types for a file import - and the procedure will read the header row from a txt/csv or excel file automatically.[code]If I just make edits in the datagridview (as in not invoke the above) the rowcount returns properly.If I close and re-open the form the new data appears, and the rowcount property returns fine also, but I don't really want to have to tell the user to close and re-open it before making any changes.I must be missing something on the refresh or with the datatable or adapter side of things.

Using vb.net..I selected the top 4 rows from multiple SQL tables ordered by date. How would I then go about placing that data into labels. There should be 16 items in total (4 columns, 4 rows). However if I try to use sqldatareader I only get items 0-3 and anything more is outside of the array. Should I not be using an IF statement in this case? View 3 RepliesI am developing a testing application consisting of 50 multiple choice questions each with 3 radio buttons to select the answer choices for my workplace and I just had a couple of questions concerning storing user input for review and displaying the next and previous questions. First - Would it be more practical to display each new question and the answer choices on a completely new form or in labels and just have the click event procedure of the Next button change the text properties of the labels and display the new text? Second - I want the application to store the user's answer choices so that at the end of the exam they can see how many they missed, which ones they got wrong, and then print the graded result. I have no idea how to store the input for later review and printing. Lastly - I would like the user to be able to mark questions for later review as they are taking the exam. For example, if the user selects an answer that they are not 100% sure of, the can mark a checkbox so that at the end of the exam they can review the answers they were unsure of. I guess I am just looking for some direction in developing this type of application. As of yet I have only done simple projects for school and this to me seems a bit out of my league. I have already designed the user interface and created a TOE chart but I would like some input on how to actually code the application.
