My module's Page_Load event is firing twice for each "actual" load. On the initial load both loads' Page.IsPostBack property is false.I've renamed Page_Load to Module_Load to verify the name wasn't an issue. I've made sure the method isn't handling both Me.Load and MyBase.Load, which has been the case in the past. The only thing I'm doing out of the ordinary is that my module is inheriting from an intermediate base class. Could this be the culprit? [code]I had an Image without an ImageUrl. Presumably this is set by my CollapsiblePanelExtender but rendered with a blank src.
I have several DNN modules that I wish to update silently, using the portal's built-in module upgrade facilities called from a separate application, in this case a Windows service. I was able to make it all work with version 4.3 of the portal by modifying the DNN source in key areas to allow DotNetNuke.dll to function outside of a web application. I'm now trying to do the same thing with the 4.9.0 source code and I'm having problems.
Everything works fine until DNN tries to read from the database. I have my Windows service project, the DNN library project, and several other related projects loaded in one VS solution (the additional projects are the same ones that are in the main solution file provided with the DNN source). I call PaInstaller.Install in my service to update each module. Execution gets to reflection.vb and then it tries to create a DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider object based on the type name. It raises an exception when calling System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetType. The exception says:
Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider' from assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'
I read this to mean it simply couldn't locate the DotNetNuke.SqlDataProvider.dll assembly. What's strange is that assembly is in the Bin folder for the DNN library project, and I also have it in the folder where my Windows service is running. The actual SqlDataProvider project is also loaded in the solution. I can't for the life of me understand why the runtime environment can't locate the assembly.
Has anyone tried something like this before, or know what could cause an assembly not to be found while stepping through the DNN source? Am I better off using something other than BuildManager.GetType to get an instance of the SQL provider type?
I want to create a new module in DNN (VB) ... that;
1. does not use DAL or DAL+
2. has only one view.ascx control
3. It has to be a compiled module
I do not need DB connectivity and any bells and whistles just one view control. I thought it would be simple but googling for a day now and it seems very complicated.
I know this can be done as there are other modules out there that have this, but I'm just not getting it to work.
I have created a custom module for a DotNetNuke site. I want to be able to create a class object within the module to hold the information about that object. I can create the object and everything complies. But when I go to use the object in the code-behind it states that the object is not defined. I'm not really sure where to go from here.
This is the beginning of the View.ascx.vb :
Namespace Modules.VacationForms Public MustInherit Class View Inherits PortalModuleBase
[Code].....
I'm really not sure why this is not working. I did download another module code to compare and as far as I can tell everything is the same.
I have a dynamically created CheckBoxList in a DotNetNuke module I'm building. When DNN creates the page, it prepends the control name with the moduleID and moduleName.
So, when I have "AddLicenseCheckBoxList" on the page, it becomes:
"dnn_ctr949_addRateGroup_AddLicenseCheckBoxList" depending on what the ModuleID and page name is (in this instance it's 949 and addRateGroup respectively). Now, I don't know what the name of the page or moduleID will be when this module is finished, so I need to make sure I am accessing the control my whateer name DNN gives it, and getElementById or getElementByName do not work even when using '<%= %>'.
So what I need to do is use Javascript or some VB to retrieve the checked values of the dynamically created CheckBoxList so that I can run an update on the database with those selected values. [code]...
I've been following a codeproject article on using the interop forms toolkit (basically a way for developers to slowly upgrade their VB6 projects to .net by allowing .net components run in VB6)
[URL]
While the .NET form is working fine in all other testing projects and environments, I've found that the Form_load event is actually firing twice once it's in executing in the VB6 runtime. Not only annoying, its forcing my initialization code to execute twice (causing all kind of problems on the second run).
I have a form for which the form load event only fires one time. When the program starts. It will not fire again until I end the program and restart. I have tried .show and .showdialog, but it acts the same. I have read about form load events loosing the handles, but my code looks exactly like it should.
Here is the load event code PrivateSub frmBilling_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) HandlesMyBase.Load LoadClients() LoadTherapists() LoadCPT() EndSub
Here is the code that calles the form. PrivateSub BillingToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BillingToolStripMenuItem.ClickfrmBilling.Show() frmbilling.show() EndSub
A form has many buttons. One of those buttons contains code to update the TableAdapterManager. One of the many TextBox controls has code in a Validating event handler. There is code to make sure a US phone number is formatted properly. If the user tabs out of the TextBox the Validating code works perfectly and show a message to the user if the phone number is not properly formatted and the focus is place in the offending TextBox.If the user clicks on a button that has code to update the TableAdapterManager the Validating code fires but instead of focus remaining on the offending TextBox, the code in the button Click handler also fires.
I would like to stop the button code from firing. Here is the code for the Validating event of the TextBox:
Private Sub TextBoxPrimaryPhone_Validating(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles TextBoxPrimaryPhone.Validating ' Make sure the phone is formatted correctly.
[code]....
What additional coding to I need to include so focus remains on the TextBox?
Does anyone know why a Page_Load would be called twice on a page when requesting an aspx page?I am using .Net 2.0 with the new .net 1.1 compilation model installed. Whenever I request a page, the Page_Load on the aspx page appears to be called twice, so does the Page_Load on and user controls added to that page.
I have an asp.net website that is using update panels on the page that i cant get to reload from the server. I have this for the disable page cache on the master page.
When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.
I have a page to which i send some variables with the GET method. In my VB back-end i get those variables using Page.Request.QueryString("<name>")If i then use the IsNumeric method to make shure it is an numeric string i get True back as value.
When i then try to transform the string to an Integer using val, cìnt, Integer.Parse or cType I get an error saying that my string could not be converted to a integer. So i made an error page which gives me all the info i need to deal with the problem (view below) Exception Message: Conversion from string "" to type 'Integer' is not valid.
[Code]...
IsNumeric confirms that it is a numeric string and that it should be convertable to an Integer. So why won't it work. I don't think that my code should provide any extra information because it only gets the querystrings, uses IsNumeric and then tries to convert them.
I have a page that add Items to RadioButtonList with this code :
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) RD.Read() RBQ1.Items.Add(RD.GetString(3))
[code]....
When I click in any button in the same page, the entire page reload and it display 8 items in the RadioButtonList, If I click for the second time I get 12 items in the RBL...How can I prevent the page to reload if I click in this button. ?
I am using <%@ MasterType virtualpath="~/__.Master" %> to embed my master page content into child page to access control belong to Master Page. I have one DropDownList in Master page. And I want to access its SelectedValue in my Child Page.
Problem is when page first time loads and as I am trying to access DropDownList's Selected Value by writing in child Page - "Master.DropDownList.SelectedValue". I am not able to get DropDownList's Value. Its display's Blank.
But When Page.IsPostBack I am able to get SelectedValue of that DropDownList.
i am currently building a MDI application. Both my Add and Edit screen use a form called frmStaffDetails.
On load, this form is redefined as 'AddStaffChild' and 'EditStaffChild' dependant on which menu item is selected. I've defined the CurrentForm as Form.ActiveForm.ActiveMdiChild.
Within a module I am checking the text within certain textboxes. So for example here I am checking a name has been inputted. If it has, then I will allow the record to be saved.
[Code]...
The problem I am having is that this code works perfectly if the textbox control is not within a Tab Control. As soon as I put it in a tab page I get the error.
"Referenced object item has a value of Nothing" Also if I reference it directly for example
If Not AddStaffChildForm.txtFirstName.Text this works fine too, but i want it to be more genric so I can use it for my edit screen as well. How can I define a control within a Tab Control from a module (or any other way to declare a public sub).
i create project using VB6 when i try to drag cantrol in my form it give me error (Cannot load verification module) the control is " fplivx activeX control module "
I have to call PS commands from a VB.NET program. This works fine if I'm calling standard PS commands, but if I have to call a command that lives in a 3rd party module I can't seem to make it work. At the PS console I can type Import-Module MyModule and then I can call the commands in that module. I tried the following but it doesn't work, I still can't access my command from within the module:
Dim PowerShell As Management.Automation.PowerShell = PowerShell.Create() Dim PowerShellCommand As New PSCommand() Dim PowerShellCommandResults As Object
I declared the variables with in the first module to be loaded
Module Mod_Global Public DtFRM As String Public DTTo As String I can load the variable and read it with in the module. Ok, good so far. But sending the code to another module results in nothing in the variable.
I'm working with a form that has five combo boxs, when the form loads it goes to the modQuotations where there is a public sub that loads the comboboxs with data from a database but it after its done loading the form there is nothing in the combo boxs. [code]..
I am working on a website in dnn. I want to change the language of website or particular page. So I download the language package for spanish(es-es),chinese(zh-cn) and install them from host. Next when I changed the language of browser then the website language didn't change. Working on dnn 5.0.
i used to use Auto..I'm trying to login to a website wait for the page to finish loading then navigate to another page.the issue is if i don't use wait command something like documentcompleted it skips the log in and navigates right away to the second page.I have no clue how to use documentcompleted this is the code i came up so far.[code]
I am new to programming and would like to write the following within a div (myGallerySet) from behind code (vb.net) on pageLoad:[code]Basically I have images details which are stored in a database and would need to dynamically added hence, why i need to write within a div container.
Currently I'm working on a Contact Address Book module for DNN 6 and I would like to show a list when a user logs in and some settings to add, delete and change contacts on the Manage section (left upper corner in Edit view).I have no idea how to archieve this, so far, I created two modules. One to display all contacts and other to add, edit, update and delete contacts. How can I add special settings to my dnn module (using vb)?
