View 2 RepliesI am using vb express and want to display graphs for the data displayed in listview through queries. For example I display data in Listview with the following query:

I have a problem using LVIF_IMAGE as a mask to the subitem, the icon is drawn but the icon's transparency is disregarded, that is there is a square around the icon when it is being drawn. And I would like to be able to draw multiple icons in the same subitem and apparently LVIF_IMAGE will not be able to do that.I have been searching for other means and learned that I could ownerdraw the subitem like the following. But the problem now is that only the first column is being selected when I click on a row even if FullRowSelect is true.[code]I just want to be able to set or draw icons to a subitem,

In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I'm using ListView control, with SmallIcons style in VB.NET. Icons are loaded fine, but when I start to scroll ListView down or up from scrollbar (clicking from arrows), rowheight drops to about half from normal in next 20-30 rows below/above upper/bottom row (depends from the scrolling position). After 1-2 seconds, ListView is "refreshed" and scrolling continues normally. When focus in on the ListView and I'm moving up/down with arrow keys or PageUp/PageDown, everything is normal. Any suggestions, what is happening? SmallIcons size is 16 * 16. Is it compulsory to set "Blank icon" with SmallIcon size to all rows, when adding them or what? Wasn't like that in VB6, how is it in VB.NET?

Lets say the table has 3 columns (a,b,c) and 1 row of data.
a b c
1 2 3
I want the user to be able to re-arrange the columns (by dragging the column headers) before printing the contents of the table.
c a b
3 1 2
Statements like:
.. ListViewX.Columns(2).Text
.. ListViewX.Columns.Item(2).Text
.. ListViewX.Items(0).SubItems(2).ToString
Give the column-name (c) and cell-contents (3) of the origional table .. not the (3rd) column (b) of the re-arranged table.
How can i get the column-name and cell-contents of the (3rd) column of the re-arranged table?
I have a VB app which draws primitive shapes (lines, filled rectangles etc.) into a picturebox control (from its paint event). I've since found out that a picturebox is probably the worst control to use for this. I've also found out that it's better to draw directly onto the form but I don't really want to do this as a control gives clipping for 'free'.
What would be the best control for this? The panel control looks like a good candidate but the experiment I tried actually performed worse
I am moving an ellipse over a UserControl that has a gradient filled background, how can I retrieve the background and place it in the ellipse as it moves? I need this to hide the original text, I will draw new text within the ellipse. I will capture the background in the UserControl Paint event before the original text is drawn.

On Form1 we have: TextBox1 TreeView1 - holds list of customers, is located near the bottom of the form, not visible from the start. Now, when I start typing text in TextBox1 (i need to filter customers), TreeView1 appears and suggest for example 30 customers matching the searched text. I want the program to show the treeview and draw it also outside of the Form1 boundaries.

View 1 RepliesI have a borderless form that I'm "docking" onto the top edge of my screen. Inside of the form, I'm placing a single toolstrip control, which docks across the entire form -> (picture the taskbar to get an idea of what I'm talking about).Because the borderless form has no edge to it, I wanted to draw a black line along the bottom edg` of the form to differentiate the form from the windows or desktop behind it.
The problem that I'm facing is that`the toolstrip will not move "behind" the line when it's docked, no matter how I order the control layers.
I've tried programatically sending the control to back to no avail either.
Any ideas on how to get the line to show above the docked toolstrip?

I have made a custom control and the only change to the interface is that its a different color. Whenever the user moves their mouse over the control some white text fades in in the middle of the user control. Then after a few seconds the text fades out. The text is actually the location of the cursor but I have that figured out.

View 1 RepliesI've got a usercontrol that's a simple rectangle with three labels on it. It's essentially triggered to give a caption to an image when the mouse is moved over it. As I feared, adding the control to the form (or any container on the form) restricts drawing the control to the region defined by the container. I tried increasing the region of the form and the container, but it still didn't draw outside the container.
So my question is: Is there a way to make the control display partially inside the container/form and partially outside it, or is there a better object type that will do what I want?

View 5 RepliesIm looking for an image viewer that supports most types of image formats, including PDFs, and has the ability to rotate/zoom, and draw on an image. I've been looking but to no avail. The main problem that I am running into is the lack of the ability to draw on an image. Im still sort of a newbie to .NET,
