I am trying to make a rectangle that can be resized by the userby clicking and dragging the edges/corners of the rectangleTypically, if the mouse enters the rectangle region, then smalladjustment boxes should appear at the corners of the rectangleand also at the middle of the rectangle's edges (to allow the userto drag and resize the rectangle). When the mouse leaves therectangle region, then the adjustment boxes should disappear.I have the code to draw the rectangle and to produce the smalladjustment boxes, but I'm not sure how to accomplish thedrag and resizing steps (or if it's even possible with the way mycode is written).
Code:Imports SystemImports System.DrawingImports System.Windows.Forms Private bBlocking, bValidBox As Boolean Private pt1, pt3 As Point Private rectBox As Rectangle Private cornerRect1 As Rectangle Private cornerRect2 As
I'M creating a kind of photo viewer, and I cannot figure out how to orient the scroll buttons with the photos I want to draw because they all are different sizes. This is really hard to explain so please ask questions if you don't understand.I'M thinking if i could draw every photo on a single rectangle and then the scroll bars will position that rectangle up or down. but is there a way to make a rectangle inside another one so it only shows inside that rectangle?
I have used this code to draw an rectangle around the panel
vb
Private Sub Form1_Paint(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles Me.PaintWith Panel1 e.Graphics.DrawRectangle(Pens.Gray, .Left - 1, .Top - 1, .Width + 1, .Height + 1) End WithEnd Sub
but when the form is resized the rectangle isnt drawn properly. The panel has Left,R,T,B anchor.
Okay, I've got a rectangle shape named Header and in the form class I Dim a new rectangle named DrawingRect. Here is the code that I used to set the location coordinates and size.
Dim DrawingRect As New Rectangle(Header.Size.Width - 18, Header.Size.Height - 17, 14, 14)
Whenever I run the program, however, it stops me and says "InvalidOperationException was unhandled". How do I get this to work?
I have made a program that lets you select an area of a picture and then crop it, I am having problems while drawing the rectangle that shows which area will be cropped, following is my code.
[CODE].............
This is declaration of all the variables that I am using.
[CODE].............
Over here I send the graphics handle of the "canvas" control (which is just a picturebox) to a higher level, so I can use it later.
[CODE].............
Over here I get the starting position for my rectangle
[CODE].............
This part is supposed to draw the rectangle, as I am moving the mouse over the Canvas control, but I get an error where the rectangle is being drawn, I originally thought that the problem might have been with the fact that as soon as I begin moving the mouse, the CropWidth and CropHeight variables are at zero, and that is causing the invalid input error. So I made it that it would not draw the rectangle until it reached a minimum size of 4 x 4 pixels but it still does not fix the error, I debugged to see if there was a problem with the values of the variables, but they all seemed fine, I even tries doing this CanvasGraphics.DrawRectangle(Pens.Red, 20, 20, 20, 20) so as to eliminate the factor of the wrong values, but still the same error.
I'm just getting started, and it's as simple as that: I need guidance to draw a rectangle or place a dot or a point on Form1, in VB 2008 Express. I knew how in VB6 -- let's build on that.
I'm drawing a rectangle snapped to a grid by getting the start point(Mouse down e.location) and the end point(mouseup(e.location). The coding I'm having trouble with is having the program determine which way to draw the rectangle(where the location should be, and the height and width.) Now, this would be extremely simple if the user started their rectangle from the top left corner and ended it in the bottom right every time. But you need to be able to drag from all angles. So does anyone have some code lying around that I could look at so I could actually get my rectangles drawn right?
I need some code to draw a resizable, draggable rectangular cursor (or selection box) on a picturebox. I found some excellent code (albeit rather old) that does just that, but on a form rather than a picturebox. I have tried converting the code - basically moving things to the picturebox events (Paint, MouseDown, MouseMove etc). It nearly works but leaves a trail behind it when you move or resize the cursor. In other words, the selection rectangle is not being erased before being drawn in the new position.
Is there some fundamental difference between drawing graphics on a form and drawing on a picturebox that would cause this behaviour? Something like, when you invalidate a form and cause a redraw it erases what you did last? If not, then I just need to dig a bit further and work out how the cursor is being erased from the previous position.
Here's the original code that works fine on a form:
Private DragRect As New RectangleF(20, 20, 100, 80) Private Adornments(7) As RectangleF Private MouseInRect As Boolean = False
I am trying to draw a rectangle in a PictureBox (100 x 50)
Using gr As System.Drawing.Graphics = Picbox.CreateGraphics Dim rect As New System.Drawing.Rectangle(10, 10, 80, 30) gr.DrawRectangle(Drawing.Pens.Blue, rect) End Using
From looking at the examples in my book, I "think" it should work, but alas, tis not working - nothing is drawn.
This code is used to demonstrate drawing a blue border around a picture box...(I've numbered the lines so I can refer to them below
1 Dim objGraphics As Graphics 2 objGraphics = Me.CreateGraphics 3 objGraphics.Clear(SystemColors.Control)
[code]....
Regarding line 1, the author says, "To instantiate an object in code, you create a variable that holds a reference to an instantiated object".!Regarding line 2, he says "the CreateGraphics method is pretty complicated, but for now, just know that it instantiates a new object that represents the client area of the current form".So now I have two new instances, the one from line 1 - an instance of a graphics object, and this one from line 2 representing the client area of the form. The rest of it is pretty clear; But Why can't I draw the rectangle around the picturebox itself? Why do I have to draw it around the "instance" of the picture box?
correct way to draw rectangles onto a picturebox, and also to explain the paint event more clearly.Basically I have an application where a picturebox contains an image, this image is a small computer monitor as such:
The idea of this part of my application is that the user can draw small window size rectangles which represent windows later on. I have already used some excellent code on this forum to be able to draw the rectangles on the picturebox (As pictured above), the rectangle outline is drawn from MouseDown and MouseUp respectivley.
The problem I am encountering is with the 'repainting' of this rectangle. I have included code to repaint the rectangle in the Paint event of the picturebox. This works when you move the picturebox 'off screen' and bring it back. However when the form is re-sized or other various things occur the rectangle is not re-drawn? even though the picturebox 'appears' to be clean and always there!
My code is below, it is not full and complete, but the few main subs listed should give an indication as to how I am currently creating the rectangle:
Private Sub picboxAdvDisplay_MouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles picboxAdvDisplay.MouseDown 'Set the flag for Drawing enabled
[code]....
1. What is the CORRECT way to draw a rectangle onto a Picturebox?
2. How do you code so that the rectangle is ALWAYS visible/drawn on a form re-size, minimise, window overlap etc etc.
Actually I'm creating a simple paint application in VB.Net 2010. I want to draw shapes in my application same as we do in Microsoft Paint using mouse.
I'm a bit successful also using mousedown and mouseup events of a picture box. The mousedown event sets the starting point and mouseup event sets the ending point(diagonally opposite point of rectangle.) The problem is "Nothing seems to be occuring between mousedown and mouseup events(Well..that is obvious because I didn't add any code on mousemove event). My question is: "Can I do something to see a growing rectangle during mousemove event?". The rest of the drawing should remain unaffected.
I have a form in which I draw a rectangle and a line depending on the button click. I basically want a dynamic line/ rectangle that moves when the mouse is clicked on another point on the picturebox. I found some code online for a rectangle, and I'm trying to extend it to draw a line too, but i'm having some issues. The line is not displayed when the mouse is lifted(mouse up event).
Here's my code: Public Class Form1 Dim selection As Rectangle = Nothing Dim m_Drawing As Boolean = False Dim m_Start As Point Dim square_click As Boolean = False [Code] ......
I'm making a custom class that mocks the System.Drawing.Rectangle class because the Rectangle class doesn't have a name property. I need a name property because I am adding all of my rectangles to a collection and I need a little more info stored than just their locale and size. So I changed the _onPaint event but nothing is working out when I run the program?
Public Class Rectanglar : Inherits UserControl Public BackgroundColor As Color = Color.Blue Public Sub New(ByVal name As String, ByVal XY As Point, ByVal Widthy As Integer, ByVal Heighty As Integer)
My program is giving the error: "End of statement expected" The red lines are the ones giving errors. I'm trying to draw lines on a picturebox to create a graph
Dim iScale As Single Const Distance = 1000 pictureBoxGraph.ForeColor = QBColor(0)
This form has a picturebox and a button. The program draws a random line onto the picturebox every time the button is pressed. I want to modify the program so that it also draws a line onto the picturebox when the program is first run. I added a draw() to the form_load event but that didn't work. What do I need to do?
Public Class Form1 Dim x1 As Integer Dim y1 As Integer
I have here a code to draw on a picturebox and when I am trying to save the drawing, it seems that it cant detect whats inside the picturebox.
Here is my Public Class Signature Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form Dim mousePath As New System.Drawing.Drawing2D.GraphicsPath() Dim myAlpha As Integer = 100 ' declare a Alpha variable Dim myUserColor As New Color() Friend WithEvents btnSave As System.Windows.Forms.Button [Code] .....
How can I save the drawing that is in a picturebox to file?
Here is my code so far:
Private Sub PictureBox1_MouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As MouseEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.MouseDown If e.Button = MouseButtons.Left Then
I've problem with clearing the drawing in PictureBox. The parts of a drawing are created with PictureBox1_ Paint Event like this: Name is one of the Subs (just part of a drawing). I've created a second event Timer1_Tick in which I want to clear the drawing created before but I can't reach it just with g.Clear(Color.White).
I am new to vb.net, from VB6. Trying to understand drawing a simple line graph into a picturebox, which was so simple in VB6 ! From code snippets, I can see the basic idea using an bitimage to draw the lines and then showing it in a picturebox. I don't understand how to (simulate) scaling of the bitmap's x/y scales like you could do with VB6's .Scale.
