Exporting DataTable To CSV?

I am attempting to create a CSV file based on a datatable I am using in VB.NET
I can successfully write the data table to CSV format however my problem is that because the default data type for the columns in the CSV file are General ,any Text I pass through with Numbers in it that are preceded with zeroes (i.e. "001") will get written to the CSV file as "1" without the 0's. I need this to be treated as a text string so "001" gets written in to the CSV file.
Is there any way to do wthis or specify through code what data type the column will be?

I have been trying to export a DataTable to an excel file and have been hitting a few wallsI am using Visual Studio 2010, VB.Net, Windows 7 64-bit, Office 2010 32-bit. 1) I first had trouble with not closing the Excel.exe *32 process and solved that by using the FinalReleaseComObject(ExcelFile).2) When I use the FinalReleaseComObject, it re-checks the "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange" under Excel's Options-->Advanced. Then any time I try to double-click on an Excel file, I get the error: "There was a problem sending the command to the program." Excel opens, but the worksheet I want does not. The only solution I have found to this problem is to have the DDE unchecked

I am trying to display value of the field ("UserID") for every row exists in datatable to checkboxlist(make the checkboxlist item selected).
I used for loop, but only the field value from last row of RoleUsers table is selected in the checkboxlist.

I have a datatable and I apply a filter to the defaultview.rowfilter property of that datatable. If I then loop through the rows collection of the datatable, will I only be able to see those rows that the filter applies to, or will it loop through all the rows?

I am working on a project that takes an xml schema and xml data files and places them into a DataTable, the 2 files are generated from a working table that i have written to disk. I wish to load these 2 files into a DataTable. Here is What i have

I have a datagridview bound to a datatable setting its datasource property to the datatable. I would like to have a child form that contains a list of columns associated with the datatable that contains a checkbox that will allow the user to hide and show the columns ( I do not know the best control to use here) (I assume this is the easy part as All i need to do is loop through each of the datatable's columns to get the column name)
now I would like save these visible columns on some event like form_closing so that the next time the user opens the form up it will remember the settings

I came across a problem with using a BindingSource as my DataGridViews.DataSource. Whenever I applied a filter to a column in the BindingSource and the user makes changes that don't match the column filter the DataGridViewRows would automatically disappear. A similar thing would happen when applying a Sort to a column. If the user made any changes the DridGirdViewRows would automatically sort causing rows to be moved around. This was not ideal for my application and there isn't anyway to stop this from happening with the BindingSource.
To correct this issue I have to use subsets of data. I use a DataView to apply the filter and sort to the main DataTable, which creates the subset DataTable.The problem is when I use the DataView.ToTable method I loose the Primary Key and RowError information. So I have to reapply this information everytime the user filters or sorts the DataGridView.Is there a better way to get a subset DataTable?[code]...

I have a datatable that has a resource in one field and hours used in another, it looks like this -
Resource Hours Used
Manager 1
Accountant 1
Field Staff 2
Accountant 3
Manager 4
Manager 1
Administrator 6
Field Staff 4

Administrator 1
What I want to do is be able to create a summary of the data table above that groups multiple occurrences of a resource and adds up the hours used for that resource, creating a summary that looks like this -

I am trying to add NewRow to the database by using datatable in dataset, but before I do that I want to make sure that row is not already there. I create new row for the datatable I am working with, fill it with information. I fill datatable with the row from database that has the same primary key as my NewRow by using tableadapter.fill method, but when I do that my NewRow that was never added to the datatable is filled with information from database(and not information that I assigned to it). I count rows in my datatable before I fill it and it's 0, so why is my NewRow affected by Fill command? (I am using VB.NET 2005 Framework 2.0)

I have an asp.net application where I have a datatable ("DataTableA") that returns just one column ("ProductID").
I want to read each row of "ProductID", process some business logic, then copy both those columns (ProductID & ProductIDBusinessLogicValue) to DataTableB. This DataTableB is then displayed on the asp.net page.
What would bhe the best way to read each row of DataTableA ?

I am exporting a datagridveiw to excel, this works fine. As of now there are columns and headers that i needed to add to the excel data that did not exist in the datagridveiw. This also works fine, the data is held in cells a2:f2, now i want to take this data in these columns and filldown to the last filled row of the excel sheet. In this example lets say i have 49 rows of information, i want to take a2:f2 and copy it down to the 49 row of the excel form. Below is the entire code of the export process, i have noted where i need this code to go with , i am not sure if i should just use a for loop, which i have tried to no avail.

I have a datagridview(DGV) which contains data based on a user selections from a pre-defined dataset
In point form:
User starts program
program builds datatable
user opens file and program read all data from file into the dataset.datatable
user defines the data they want to see
program displays datagrid based on dataset.datatable and user choices. (basically it displays the whole dataset and removes unwanted columns
ecords)
I want to be able to export the datagrid to excel (not sure which method yet). I have tried the excelexporter component i found somewhere on the msdn forums (it exports the data to look exactly like the datagridview) but its painfully slow. It exports something in the region of 100 records per minute. Most of the time, the datagridview can contain anywhere from 3000-32,000 records. As such, at 100 records per minute, the excel generation can take updwards of 50minutes. Unacceptably slow for the purposes of the program.
What do people recommend as the best method to quickly dump the contents of a datagrid into excel. By quickly, im talking at the speed of about 10,000 records per minute. In all honesty, anything over 5000 records per minute will be fast enough, but the quicker the better!
Is there a way of creating a new dataset.datatable that is built of the contents of the datagridview and then building an excel sheet by connecting to the new dataset?
I would like to be able to export to Excel 2000-2003 at a minimum, but if i can do excel 97 as well it won't hurt.

I get an error saying the external table is not in the correct format. I assume taht means the existing spreadsheet. But I have verified that I have the same number of fields (i.e. columns) as the spreadsheet I am inserting the data into.
