Extracting Month Value From A Date Field In A Datagridview?

I'm not sure if this is simple or not, i'm still a student programmer. Basically I have a datagridview that has a date column. I'm wanting to compare the month value from a cell with the current month as an if statement condition. Something like this:
If Me.DataGridView1.Rows(i).Cells(7).Value = currentMonth then
...
End If
Cells(7) is the date cell i.e. 11/03/2010 (British date format, day, month, year) and currentMonth is, well the current month (03).
I have a matrix with rows indicating a name (Ex Store name) and I have data pertaining to that in the DATA cells. I also have another date field in this format (MM/DD/YYYY). I would like to use a cross tab between Store Names and Just the Month of the date field.

I changed the date of datetimepicker format to yyyy-mm-dd in custom format...but it displays 2009-00-22...the month part is not showing the month of the exact month..how to change the format of the date?
Currently i have a ReturnSystemDate in a module, so that whenever i need the current date and time i call this method, however my data is saving as in 1 format and displaying in another. I have my variables set up as dateTime to store the current date and time, when calling System.dateTime.now.toString() i get 11/08/2010 Time, however when casting to Date as in CDATE() i get 08/11/2010 time. How can i stop this?
I have a simple VB program that is using the IBM ADO .NET data provider. I've set this up so the data is used by a data adapter and fed with a standard DS. I've manually done the commands to acheive this in code. I tthen use the DS as the datasource for my datagridview. I'm having one issue and that is with a date field. It uses an "old" IBM date of CYYMMDD, century, month, day date in a numeric field. So my dates look like this for instance in the datagridview:
1100804
My question is this, is there any easy way to format them into mm/dd/yy after the DS has been put into datagridview but not yet displayed?
I have done this using the dataread object and can work out a format that way, but I'd have to recode what I already have done.

It works ok when filter is on other fields but brings empty on 'CallDate' date field. I have declared the 'CallDate' field in db as long date format in Access.

I am exporting data from an sql table to an excel spreadsheet in Visual Studio 2008. There is a field that is date/time that I only need the time part of (hh:mm). I am using the Convert command to do this, but I am getting the error 'Undefined function Convert in your expression'. Is there another function I should be using? I'm using EPPlus to create Excel reports. Now i'm trying to create a Pivot with a DateTime PageField, so that the user can filter the period he want to see by himself. But although i can filter this for year,month or days in the according data worksheet by default, i don't get it working in the Pivot.

I'm fairly new to ASP.NET & VB.I've been asked to take an existing textbox that is automatically filled with the current date and allow the user to either add a "+" or "-" and a number or a spcific number and convert that into a date.I underdstand the basic concept on how to do this, but I'm running into some problems using the proper commands in order for this to work.The Textbox is called txtDate.What I've tried to do is this:

the last code is meant to measure how many seconds will I get from d = 1 to 1000, it should return 1 second time difference. But instead of 1 second, it returns around 15 seconds.

i'm currently using VB.net 2005 with an Oracle 10g db.1. Alert the Admin by displaying on the main page a list of users who are due for re-certification if there are any. - I've managed to do this except my date calculation for the alert is wrong. When a user is certified say on 25-06-2010, they will be up for re-certification in 25-06-2011. I need my program to start alerting the Admin a MONTH before the user is due for re-certification. So basically start the alert on 25-05-2011.Currently this is my logic in VB.
Reason = Get value in Reason field (If this field is not empty, then don't raise alert for this record) Renewal = Get the re-certification date Sysdate = Get current system date

Alert the Admin via email - I've managed to create an email (stored procedure in Oracle) that contains the skeleton. I say skeleton because althought the mail executes fine, I've not managed yet to include the list of users due from the db. I created a Curser and dumped my results in there, but not sure what to do after that.
