I have this VB.Net form and I need to know the names of all the controls on it. I would suppose that Microsoft keeps a list of all the controls on any given form I just don't know how to access it.
I am trying to update a Vs2008 project to vs2010. In one of my projects I have two controls. The controls are not being seen by the form when I open it up in design view. They are friend controls. (No code has changed since I opened it up in vs2010.) But it was running fine in vs2008.
How can I add controls to a form in code and set the properties of the controls using the With statement? Also I would like to know how to add a container control and then add a control to that container.
I have a slight problem With an enumaration of child controls on a form. The following code will not get but about have the controls that are on the form. The controls show that the count is correct but when it goes through the loop it skips over some of the controls. If you run it through the enumeration two or three times it will get all the controls a few at a time. The solution uses two forms, one that has the controls and the other that labels are made and displayed on. The Tx is just a index to add a number to the label.name and rename the label. So each label is identified seperately. This works for all the the controls that are seen in the for each loop.
I've been digging around but I can't seem to find anyway to adjust the volume controls (the windows general ones) using VB .NET.Basically, I want to make a program that's always on top that allows me to changemute the microphone and the other volume values on a specific device - not necessarily the one set as default.
I got this weird feeling that I'm missing something quite simple but I simply could not find anything. I saw some media players and such but nothing similar to what I was looking for.
I am editing an application that was developed using VB .NET. The form has a button, I see it in the code but it is not visible in the Form. Also, when I place a new button, it comes as Button2 meaning there is a Button1 - I am not sure how to find where it is and place it at the right place.
I need a Function or section of code that finds the angle of a lineShape. Alternitively, a code to find the angle between two set coordinates would also work. I need to know the angle in order for my program to work properly. I'm using VB Express 2010.
I have a group of controls dynamically added to a forms with a name like "OptionID_#" where the "#" is unique number.1st I need to check if these controls are checked/unchecked, but am having a difficult time even finding them to make that first check.I thought controls.find might work, but Controls.Find ("Option ID_" True) dues not seem to find my controls.2nd I need to get the "#" from each of those checked options.I think that Split(conControl.Name, "_") should work to get me two different parts one with the OptionID, and the other with the "#".Still stuck on the first part though of actuall locating the controls I need.
After reading all the examples for list of T exists and Find and find first, none show how to handle multi-property objects. Below is bare bones example maybe someone could flesh out to show how this should be done.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim DatePriceList As New List(Of DateAndPrice) DatePriceList.Add(New DateAndPrice(Date.Parse("1/1/2000"), 10.12)) DatePriceList.Add(New DateAndPrice(Date.Parse("1/2/2000"), 11.12))
Protected Sub Calendar2_Selectionchanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Calendar2.Selectionchanged Dim myDate1 As String = ""
[Code].....
Have to find total days from two date controls after selecting dates in two controls it should print total days by calculating after immediate selection of second date control
This time I am stucked with a JSP page which is loaded in my webbrowser control. I have checked that it has been loaded. But I am unable to locate any of the controls of that page. Even in the count of any html controls it displays me 0. The page contains two frames and there is no "iFrames". Has Javascript got do anything with this?
I have a datagridview control with a number of comboboxes on it.I am generating a custom combobox with a DataGridView_EditingControlShowing event. How do you get the name of the combobox in DataGridView that fired the event?as all actions on the DataGridView trigger this Sub
I have a form with many buttons on it and I would like to loop through all the controls in a group control and find out which button is clicked.
I plan to use the click event of the button and I know it's easy to create a click event procedure for all of the buttons but would like to avoid that.
I have a module level sub that I use to clear text fields etc on my forms:
CODE:
The problem I have is in the last few lines of code as I'm not really sure how to access the text boxes contained within the tab controls (of which there are many tabs and many text boxes).
This is the closest I've got but I am getting an "option strict on disallows late binding" error on the tabCtl in the following line.
1. i added a datagrid at runtime on a form. i want to bind a datasource to the datagrid in a button's click event handler, but the datagrid doesn't seem to be visible anywhere else outside the form load event where it is declared. how can i find the datagrid control?
2. and another beginner question.. how to i declare a string that spans multipe lines? i tried with the + operator like in c#, but it doesn't work.
Just as the title states, can anyone point me to a list of all available asp.net server controls (preferably with descriptions)? I would have thought that something like this would be readily available but I've had no luck finding this. I almost always have to dig around to find a control to solve a particular problem, a quick reference would be really handy.
I have found a program called "E-speaking Voice and speech recognition" wich has a feature of detecting buttons from another running program and allows you to "press" them through voice commands. My question is: how can i list the controls and the buttons from another program into a listbox on my form? Eventually, how can i handle the commands that those buttons execute within my own code? I have found something about the API functions FindWindow and FindWindowEx but nothing else...
I've searched the whole web (at last where google can see) for a solution, but i just can't find. The problem is the following: I want a list of all controlls in my project, not only on open forms. The reason is that i want to make an access control, and the admin will set which buttons each users can use.
I need to get a string from an items collection in a list box on one form to a list box on another form in VB 2008. Here is the code (I've tried a couple ways in the code to get the values over).
Public Class frmPrintBooks Private Sub btnClose_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _ Handles btnClose.Click
I have a list of specific class. In this list , a position class is included. And that position class includes X and Y coordinates.I have Current Coordinates and the coordinates in list .I want to calculate the distance for each item in List and find which item has minimal distance. Here is my code :
For Each item As ITEMX In xHandle.ItemList
Dim CurrX As Integer = txt_TrainX.Text Dim CurrY As Integer = txt_TrainY.Text[code]....
so distance is the distance between my coordinates and the item.I calculate it for each item in list but how do i find the minimal one ?
I'm building a break-timer application. The objective of this, in VB, is to have an application that lets me create a timer dynamically (maybe through a button click) that counts up (or down if you wanna call it that) to a preset point, then makes beeping noises like an alarm. This is due to my desire to no longer be late to and from my breaks at work.
I was able to create a super simple one that just had three timers that I could tick off, but I find myself using them for way more than just three uses. For example, I start one when I get in to count to the point when I need to punch in my timecard (our system is annoying about being exactly on time) then I start one for when my first break starts, then one for my break, then one for after my break but before my lunch, etc.
So, I wanted to have a program that does the following:Has a scrollbar-capable box that can scroll up and down. Each line of the Scrollbar-capable box has one of my custom controls in it (a wide, thin bar containing a field for how long to go, a start button, a display of time elapsed in seconds, and a stop button).
I can just click a button to create each control one line at a time. Now, I know HOW I can create these, but I want to know:Is there an existing type of box that would let me do something like this? Has someone already written this? Or am I going to be creating a COMPLETELY custom control that will be fairly painful to figure out? In which case, is this even doable, or should I just try something else?
i m getting a collection of data in list's object. And from this list i want to get the maximum id.`
Dim objinfo As List(Of AlbumInfo) = objPhotos.GetPhotos_Alb_ID(Me.ModuleId, hdd_AlbID.Value) Dim Photo_Image As String = "" Dim str As String = Photo_Image & fu_Photo.PostedFile.FileName.Substrng(fu_Photo.PostedFile.FileName.LastIndexOf("."))
[code]....
this returns the "0"th positions id from Convert.ToString(objinfo.Item("0").Photo_Id + 1)but i want to get the last item's id.
I have a simple class called Player. I can add players to it, but haven't figured out how to remove them. I've tried various ways, some compile some don't none work
Public Class Player Public Name As String Public Sub New(ByVal name As String)
I have a list of names with corresponding numbers (In this case volume and weight names and their corresponding conversion number to deciliter and gram)
I have been looking how to program something like this in visual basic and came up with a list of class objects in which i could then do a find for the name and then get the corresponding modifier decimal.[code]...
