I'm looking to take a screen shot with my program and try to find an image inside of it. Is this possible?In other words, I am trying to find an image inside of a larger image. It would be great if it could be a screen shot of just the webbrowser form.

find a current and simple way to do this. I'm using VWD Express 2008 and SQL Express 2008.I'm able to get the client's path to the image file using an asp:FileUpload control on the web form.How do I upload the client's image file and display it in the web form's image control?How do I save it to the sqlserver? The image table is already set up with a "Image" data type column. Can the image be saved to the database as simply as other data types?
View 3 RepliesI'm working on a small project for the fun of it. One of my hobbies is astro-imaging and I take pictures of planets, nebulae gallaxies etc . One of the more challenging targets is the International Space Station. I have had some success with the ISS by manually aiming my telescope as the Station moves across the sky.
What I am trying to achieve is to write a program that will lock onto the brightest area of a webcam image. If the brightest area (which will be the ISS) is off center, then commands are sent to the telescope to recenter it.
So far I have been able to write code that talks with the scope, and I have been able to get a webcam stream to show on a Form.
So the last piece of the puzzle (well I am sure there will be other things that have to be worked out) is to identify the brightest area of the image. I am scratching my head as to how I should accomplish this.
I'm thinking I should dump pixel information into an array maybe, and establish which line and column has the brightest average values (I could then draw a cross hair over the image).

It's a test, to ensure the webcam is working. A prompt appears that asks if the webcam is working. However, some testers are lying and I need to find a method to make sure they can't lie.
My team wants to use a large bar code that the tester has to hold in front of the camera.
So I need to figure out how to either read the bar code, or just read the text in the bar code, which reads, "* C A M *."
It looks like the image below, but much larger.
Does anyone know where I should begin? I was thinking about using GetPixel, but I'm not sure I could or if that would be reliable enough.
I'm looking to achieve merging of two images. Right now I can get the desired output but its slow for bigger images than 640*480 since it will actually be operating on video frames at least @25FPS.What I'm doing right now is copy both images pixel by pixel, like this. Actually its in c++ but I've converted it to vb code for understanding..

In vb.net I have control named checkbox1 that I can see at dropdown menu in properties tab. but in designer I am not able to locate it... Also when I am selecting CheckBox1 from properties' dropdown menu, no checkbox in designer gets highlighted.... How to find that control in designer?

Using port monitoring and the DUMP command on the peripheral I was able to read the data and save to file. Now my challenge is decoding each line. It appears that only a section of the string is not in plain values.I added the pipe separators for clarity. I have determined those columns are: EMPID | DateTime | TechID | Results | ResultType = Test.[code]

I can get it to open mine but it can't open other peoples they get errors when they try, I have xp and the Vista and other people can't get it to open theirs so I need to know how to find the file then open it.

I have some code that generates 15 random numbers between 1 and 100 and prints the 15 numbers in a listbox. I want to be able to find the max and min numbers in that list. How would I go about finding those values? I'm new to VB so a solution involving basic string/array manipulation would be preferred.

I am trying to run some code on Page_PreRender but only want it to run on hyperlinks within a certain DIV. What the code does is change the colour of a hyperlink if the NavigateUrl = the URL of the page the user is on. I have some code that works but it changes the colour of every link on the page that matches when I only want it to happen within a certain div.

I created a new cursor (it works properly, I tried it in windows 7) but is not working for me in the program.I took the Windows cursor (aero_helpsel_xl, from C:WindowsCursors) and it appears to me the same error.i use with this code:

edit: I realized what the problem ... It can read only cur files with 24-bit color and lower - but it shows only two colors: black and white.
I have an app that loads a jpg into a picyure box, then updates exif data in exifworks classThe problem is that when I save the image(from image used for picture box) or class (to save exif data) then try to delete, sometimes I get success, others it won't allow delet I have gone to the trouble of using gc.collect, do events, put the delete in a timer & wait for the delete before continuing & still get the problem

View 8 RepliesI've been searching for hours tonight searching existing posts, other websites and all i can find are examples of how to capture a image from a webcam.Does anyone have any code that simple talks to the camera device via WIA, and then saves every image found on the device to a hard drive?I found this code below. Credit i cant tell you as i have a bunch of different flavors of code, but this only saves the file as a tmp file, and not the actual image file i expected after selecting?

In VB6 you could BITBLT things around before refreshing the screen. In .NET, I'm aware of DrawImage, but that can only be done on a paint event rather than before anything gets painted. The issue I have is, I need to open several files with image data in them and then build a bigger image with those smaller images. Before I could open them, BITBLT them to a Buffer. As far as I can tell .NET offers no way to do this as the only function I've been able to find (DrawImage) only works within the paint event. Is there still a way to do this in VS08 or no?

In a VB application I am building, I need to launch Outlook. Obviously, on every computer the path to Outlook will not be the same. Thus, I need to know how to find the path of Outlook on the user's computer before I Shell("path"). How would I do this?

After it is published on another pc, the helpfile is not on the root of the c-drive but in the application folder of the program. However, I can not know where the path to the program folder of someone else's pc is. It all depends on where they decide to place the program when they install, right?
It seems I need to replace this little: "C:Helpfile.txt" with some code that searches all the drives and directories and/or points directly to the Helpfile's placement - i.e. the parent directory of the program.
